Hangup extensions via CLI?
Greetings list- I'd like the ability to hangup all calls for a particular extension from the system CLI. I understand this can probably be scripted using the AMI but I'm not familiar on how to do it. Help! Tim Nelson Systems/Network Support Rockbochs Inc. (218)727-4332 x105

Odd Polycom Reboot Issue
Hello list- I'm having an extremely odd issue with an installation of mine. The system is running * 1.2.12.1 and currently handles around 100 handsets. With the exception of a few Grandstream DTA's, all devices are Polycom 320, 430, or 601's. After a recent power outage, I'm having an extremely odd issue with one of the handsets. One of the Polycom 601 units simply reboots every

Set default file/dir permissions?
Greetings all- I have a system running CentOS 5.5 x86_64. It's serving NFS for several 'frontend' boxes in a web application setup. All data is stored in specific dir but written by different users. When the webapp attempts to read this information, it may or may not have permissions to this data. What I'd like to do is set 'default permissions' on the data storage

Quickbooks and Samba and Oplocks... OH MY
It is widely known that Quickbooks has a horrible storage engine, "requires" Windows to host multiuser access, etc. However, I've successfully been storing QuickBooks files on Samba shares at a handful of locations with no real issues other than slight performance degradation. However, a somewhat recent thread here mentioned the proper use of oplock'ing in the Samba configuration

Adding a kernel module to the ISO/installer initrd?
Greetings list! Because of the sheer number of box (re)installations we do that have a CentOS base, I've converted our provisioning process to PXE. However, I've found that an alarming number of motherboards are coming with the Realtek RTL8168 ethernet controller onboard. When the system boots, it cannot find an ethernet controller and the installer process hangs. I made a new initrd

Fwd: Re: SpiderMux?
Hi, I have one in stock - got it from a client who wanted to get rid of all his old IT equipment. Looks strange, did not have enough time to play with it ....Tried it once, looked hard to configure. It stays unused in the storage room. Peter On 29.4.2010 10:20, Tim Nelson wrote: > Greetings all- > > I've stumbled upon a TDMoE gateway for FXO/FXS called the SpiderMux. It looks

SpiderMux?
Greetings all- I've stumbled upon a TDMoE gateway for FXO/FXS called the SpiderMux. It looks rather interesting. Has anyone used one? Where did you purchase it? Pricing? Operational issues? http://spidermux.com/ Tim Nelson Systems/Network Support Rockbochs Inc. (218)727-4332 x105

Digium PRI cards for data usage?
Greetings- I'm wondering if the Digium PRI cards can be used for data (Cisco HDLC, PPP, etc) or if they're for voice circuits only. I haven't been able to find any information on this. All documentation direct from Digium seems to indicate their hardware is for voice applications only. Sangoma's cards work in either voice or data mode but of course this is configured in their

PCI SATA Controller Recommendations?
Hello fellow listers... I'd like to get some recommendations on a good SATA controller for use with CentOS 5.x. It should be PCI, bootable, have 4 SATA ports, have native support (no crap proprietary or manually compiled drivers), and possibly hot swap support. Any ideas? There are plenty of PCI-X and PCIe controllers that I think would work but the use for this card is in a smaller 1U

Package Information Site?
Greetings all- Over the years, I've become incredibly spoiled by 'packages.debian.org' which allows me to search for a package, view it's description, download it, see dependencies, see similar packages, etc... Does such a site or resource exist for CentOS? Tim Nelson Systems/Network Support Rockbochs Inc. (218)727-4332 x105

Cron daemon with better precision?
Greetings list- I'm on the hunt for a cron scheduler that supports definitions to the second. Obviously, every cron daemon supports minute/hour/etc but I have a special application that requires finer granularity. I know I know... someone will say "The load will be horrendous on your system" or "Why don't you simply schedule your cron every minute and make up the higher

Yum Issue.. Installing Older Package Version
Hello fellow CentOS'ers- I'm trying to install a package from a not-to-be-named repository (privately operated for some proprietary software). They currently have a package I need but offer multiple versions. However, if I simply 'yum install packagename' it defaults to pulling down the most recent package. I would like to pull down the older version of the package but I'm

Autodetecing RAID members upon boot... need to update initrd?
Hello fellow CentOS'ers- I've got a system running CentOS 5.0. The motherboard has two onboard SATA ports with two drives attached. I installed the system on a RAID1 setup. However, I'd like to add a hotspare disk to the array. Since there are no additional SATA ports, I've installed an additional controller. After partitioning, the additional drive was easily and successfully

CentOS 5.x on Geode LX
Greetings all- I'm currently working with CentOS 5.x (various version 5.0 - 5.5) attempting to run it on a system based on the AMD Geode LX CPU. There are known issues with this CPU running Centos 5, specifically those listed here: http://bugs.centos.org/view.php?id=2552 The kernel and system run fine on the Geode LX, but the installer detects the CPU as i586. Since there is no i586 kernel
