LocalCommand problem for tunneling on Linux
I've been testing tunneling on Linux with openssh-SNAP-20060116.tar.gz
and found a problem.
When I use LocalCommand for doing ifconfig stuff, the command line
was executed before a tunneling interface is opened. This causes
errors on Linux and the interface is not automatically set up.
This is not a problem on *BSD because you can do ifconfig for
unopened tun/tap interfaces. But in Linux,

configuration file for tunneling device
Hi,
For Ethernet and others, we have a configuration file inside
/etc/sysconfig/newtork-script/ like ifcfg-ethx where we specify ip
address, mask, type etc... For GRE tunneling, how can I specify the
parameters for tunneling device, so that I ifup-tunnel will automatically
read and start the interface and I don't have to write the below scripts
in my start-up file.
ip tunnel add netx mode

SSH for OS/390 (ODBC SSH-Tunneling to OS/390)
Hi Martin,
my name's Daragh, and I'm a renewal projects architect in the
University of Chicago. I saw your name on a listserv - openssh-unix-dev. I
was hoping you could lend some insight to a problem we're trying to solve.

ssh tunneling
I have read several HOWTO's online that indicate one should be able to
access a samba share over an ssh tunnel from a windows box with the
following steps:
1. Stop the File and Print sharing services on the windows box
2. Create an ssh tunnel from the windows box to the samba server (port 139)
3. Connect to the samba server as if it were on 127.0.0.1
Unfortunately, doing this on any of my

HTML5's audio/video and Markdown
Does anyone have any toughts on how one should be using <video> &
<audio> with Markdown? Using the link or the img syntax?
Maybe:
[a film](film.m4v)
[an audio](audio.mp3)
could create:
<video src="film.m4v" controls><a href="film.m4v">a film</a></
video>
<audio src="audio.mp4" controls><a

It would be nice if OpenSSH would have features to circumvent network filters, like SSL tunneling
I am in the network that is behind the Zscaler firewall.
Virtually all ports except 80 and 443 are closed. ssh through any of
ports 80 and 443 is disallowed based on protocol content analysis.
It would be nice if OpenSSH would have some features that would allow
the user to break out of such network.
I suggest that OpenSSH adds the SSL tunneling feature:
1. The server would have the

tunneling support for PF_UNIX sockets
Hi,
I've been planning to develop a support for tunneling between "local_tcp
=> server_AF_UNIX".
This way, every user of server machine, can have:
1. personal address space (if socket is located on personal directory).
Currently one must check assigned local port every time starting a
server (e.g. vncserver), and redirect a local port to "random" remote
port.

SIP, NAT and Firewalls
Hello,
I'm a bit new to SIP, and I've set up a SIP line with Asterisk and my
wholesale provider. That worked, fine. I ahd to open up the ports on my
router, forward them to the correct box, again fine.
Now, if I get one of my customers to connect his SIP phone to my Asterisk
box, and HE'S behind a NAT firewall, does he have to go through the same
process, or is it just the Asterisk

VPN As SIP Tunneling?
Hi All
Could a VPN be used to help with SIP Tunneling and QoS issues.
State 1:
Two IP Networks Connected via the Public Internet transmitting VoIP Traffic
Say a VoIP User and VoIP Termination Provider.
Each side can put QoS onto their part, but if QoS does NOT exist between
them
then call quality will be bad anyhow.
State 2:
Same as above except a VPN tunnel is setup between each side.
Thus

[PATCH 0/5] drm/nouveau+amdgpu: add DP CEC-Tunneling-over-AUX
From: Hans Verkuil <hans.verkuil at cisco.com>
Now that the DisplayPort CEC-Tunneling-over-AUX drm+i915 support
has been merged in the mainline kernel it is time to roll this
out to nouveau and amdgpu as well.
I combined both in the same patch series since both depend on the
same first patch, the comments in this cover letter apply to both
and the implementation is also very similar (and

[PATCHv2 0/5] drm/nouveau+amdgpu: add DP CEC-Tunneling-over-AUX

Now that the DisplayPort CEC-Tunneling-over-AUX drm+i915 support
has been merged in the mainline kernel it is time to roll this
out to nouveau and amdgpu as well.
The first patch is required for this: it adds checks that the drm_dp_cec
functions are called with a working aux implementation. These checks
weren't necessary for the i915, but
