chan_dahdi refuses to build
Using asterisk 1.6.2.1 and dahdi 2.2.0.2. dadhi-linux installed just fine. Using dahdi_dummy as there is no card in system. Did not install libpri, again, no card. When compiling asterisk, I include -with-dahdi and everything ./configure's fine but when I do 'make', everything goes fine but chan_dahdi doesn't get compiled. No errors. No warnings. It just skips it for some reason.

Alternatives to Digium 729
Per my conversation below with digium, are there any legal alternatives to digium's G729? It is out of date, and doesn't support VAD nor silence detection. Digium has stated that they have no plans to update it anytime soon. VAD/Silence is a big deal with major carriers and we are having to fight a battle to get them to make special arrangements to turn off VAD/Silence in their

arp_ignore for lo-device
I have a working LVS-Setup on CentOS 5.4 with the following settings in sysctl.conf: net.ipv4.conf.lo.arp_ignore = 1 net.ipv4.conf.lo.arp_announce = 2 net.ipv4.conf.all.arp_ignore = 1 net.ipv4.conf.all.arp_announce = 2 Now I''d like to use shorewall, but after activating it, shorewall changes both arp_ignore values to 0. I just found out how to set arp_ignore for separate interfaces, but

DNAT Problem
Hi, I have a client behind shorewall which has 2 IP: 192.168.8.35 is the real IP and 192.168.8.37 is the virtual IP. I have added DNAT rules into shorewall: DNAT net loc:192.168.8.35 tcp 11008 - 1.2.3.4 DNAT net loc:192.168.8.37 tcp 55000 - 1.2.3.5 1.2.3.4 and 1.2.3.5 is virtual IP

Fw: [digium.com #12961] T100P as bandwidth
Even though they make the cards and advertise that they support data modes, digium won't support data mode on the $500 card they sold to me, so I must turn to the list. Has anyone configured a T100P to use a T1 strictly as bandwidth? Is there a HOWTO somewhere? Wiki has nothing I could find. I've got plently of public IPs I can assign to it but don't know how. Thanks, Matthew -----

cmd curl crashes asterisk:
I recently began using the curl cmd to do an external callerid lookup on my own customer database. I've noticed certain lookups will cause a crash and not show anything in the messages file or the console. The curl command is connecting to an external webserver which has a oracle db connection. The file its hitting is PHP and does a very simply lookup showing the text like "C1234 Bobs

Built-In Transfer Questions
I've read the Wiki on using asterisk's built-in transfer options (#8 and #6). They work fine but how does one cancle an attended transfer? Example: I have person on phone, I hit #6 to being att-transfer. I enter Sally's extension. I let it ring for a few seconds. Sally never picks up but her voicemail does. How do I hangup her voicemail and resume the previous call? The example on the

Asterisk's MultiProcessor Ability
We have asterisk running on a quad processor dell. The kernel has been compiled with SMP. However, asterisk seems to only use 1 processor. 3 of the 4 always stay at 100% idle. Is it pointless to have a multi-proc machine? I was going to buy a new dual 3.6Ghz Xeon server but if nothing will take advantage of the other proc... Perhaps my conception of multi-proc/threaded is warped. If asterisk is

VoicePulse Connect 4 Channel Limit?
Does anyone know what happens if you try to have 5 concurrent outgoing channels with VoicePulse Connect? Does it give you an error message or a reorder or something? I'm worried about using them as my primary carrier if this is the case. I noticed that they supposedly only allow 4 channels for free and then you have to pay $20 a month extra per channel. I'm guessing this is for inbound
