* and mj
Hello all, Has anyone have magicjack working with their asterisk? I had patched chan_sip.c with some code that allows asterisk to do the md5 hash that mjmd5 proxy does. * shows that it is registered with magicjack, but incoming calls are not even hitting my * box and outgoing calls get congestion. Here is my relevant configs. I did do a ton of google searching, but it all points to it should

Heist of MagicJack SIP credentials?
While I myself am not a MagicJack user, I'm curious as to whether anyone here has managed to heist their MagicJack account's sip credentials, and use them to terminate calls using asterisk. Apparently it's as simple as sniffing the SIP credentials. If so, said person would enjoy unlimited termination for $20 year while retaining the flexibility of setting their CallerID to a

Asterisk 16 Certified 16.8 and MagicJack Incoming Calls
I upgraded our Asterisk 13 LTS to Asterisk 16 Certified 16.8 yesterday and converted form SIP to PJSIP using the python script as a start and then mofiying from there.  I ran into an issue when testing that incoming calls from MagicJack would go silent after about 10 seconds.  This happened while in the automated attendant area.  This problem did not occur with Asterisk 13 LTS.  I reverted PJSIP

IAX trunktimestamps and AST_CONTROL_SRCUPDATE
Hi, I have just discovered (a year after it was implemented) a possibly undocumented incompatability between IAX in Asterisk 1.4 and any version of Asterisk pre-March 2008. It seems an AST_CONTROL_SRCUPDATE frame type was added (in March '08), but no mechanism to negotiate whether it can be sent to the remote end, so if a "new" IAX endpoint sends it, and the remote end ignores it,

US T1 Hangup Detection
We are in the process of preparing to move our Asterisk server to a Digital T1 interface card instead of a analog card (via an Adtran which is now connected to the T1). I did a preliminary test the other day and hooked the T1 line up to the T1 card, bypassing the Adtran. This worked rather well I must say. The two issues I ran into are: 1) Caller ID is not working even though I enabled

Word combinations
If I'm looking for "magicjack", I might enter these search terms: "magic jack" "magicjack" "jack magic" The content I'm indexing might have either of the first two variants (probably not the second). Without knowing these terms and their various word combination permutations up front, what's the recommended approach for indexing and

soft ATA on linux with zaptel?
Slightly OT, but I'm wondering if anyone here has come across a "soft ATA". That is, software that will perform the functions of a basic POTS line ATA on Linux with a zaptel driven card. I have a Linux machine with a zaptel card in it and I want to have another Linux machine running Asterisk utilize the zaptel card in the first Linux machine to make outgoing and receive

Firewall for virtual machines
I realize I'm not getting a lot of questions answered here lately, and I'm going to presume that this is for legitimate reasons (i.e., people don't know or are too busy to think about it), not because they seem stupid (if they do, please tell me, on the list or privately). I run Windows as a VMWare guest on top of my CentOS host, and I generally have not used a firewall on the guest.

What is the meaning of "segfault 'memory not mapped' " ?
I'm trying to get some "easy coding" to reproduce the error. In the meantime I have R code that run for 20 or more hours and suddenly i got a "segfault 'memory not mapped'" error. I have to clarify that the error not alway occurs and sometimes the process end satisfactorily. The process is basically a search using an MCMC strategy, sometimes the algorithm converge

Any good guides for installing Asterisk on Embedded systems like Alix boards?
Hi Everyone, Knowing that running Asterisk on an embedded board like the Alix2d3 requires some fine tuning. Do you know of any good guides out there that does this from beginning to end?
