extensions not being detected consistently
G'afternoon everybody,
I'm having a problem with consistently being able to ring our extensions
from an outside line. I don't have a problem reaching the number, but
during our calls to Background(msg) that I am having a problem. It seems
to be an issue with timing. If I press the extension towards the end of
the Background(msg) the it often works. However, in the middle of the

internal caller id on analog phones connected to zap
Hi,
We've got IAX softphones, GrandStream VOIP phones and zaptel connected
analog phones.
Caller id, internally, works just fine (as long as I use numeric only
callerids) for IAX and grandstream.
Is there a way to have the analog phones' LCD display show the caller
id?
These are plain old regular analog phone, that if I had callerid from my
telco would show on the screen.
thanks

outbound caller ID
Hi,
I would like to know if one can set the outgoing
caller ID within Asterisk when calls are going out
through:
1) an analog POTS line (I suppose not)
2) a telco BRI line (I don't think so)
3) a telco PRI line (maybe)
4) a voip provider (surely)
Thanks,
Vieri

Q: PRI leading 0 (area access code) or 00 (country access code) missing on incoming callerid
hi,
on our incoming E1-PRI from german telco Arcor the leading 0 for the
(area access code in europe) and the 00 (country accescode in europe)
are missing on incoming callerids.
only prepending a single 0 is not the solution as suggested by some
writers on this list, because there is no way to differ between national
and international callerids and it's not possible to make the decission

*** buffer overflow detected *** accessing invalid FD in libguestfs
We have extended collectd virt plugin to extract info about disk usage from
a libvirt domain using libguestfs. In addition to my previous mail I am
attaching some more infomration about the problem.
Currently the collectd plugin works fine and retrieves the required
statistics. The problem that I face happens after certain number of cycles
(getting disk usage statistics). Collectd is terminated

Asterisk Queue + Caller ID issue
Ok I have a queue that is working perfectly.
The problem is when one of the agents is outside the building on an
external phone line (say a cell phone). My telco hangs up on the call .
I think the telco is hanging up on these calls because there is no CID
attached. (I know my telco wont connect calls without ANI, so that is
what it is my assumption)
So first I need to prove my assumption

Caller ID (name) - where does it come from?
Hi Folks, having an issue with outbound calls through a VOIP provider. Calls
get sent out with the CallerID(number), but where does callerID(name) come
from? Apparently not from provider, as we are seeing different (sometime
missing) names on inbound calls, different than what we have configured.
Apparently this comes from some telco database somewhere? Numbers were
ported from a wired-telco.

Set caller ID for outgoing PRI calls
Hallo!
Finally we have E1 PRI connected to our Asterisk box. Now I have one
question.
My internal extensions (_XXX) are SIP phones connected to Asterisk. Our
telco routes some public numbers (_71602XX and others) to our Asterisk
via E1. Some internal extensions can be reached from outside using
public numbers (e.g. 7160234 -> 200), and some others cannot. Everyone
can call outside

D4 AMI - No Caller ID
I currently have Asterisk deployed in my office with a TE411P. On the first port of this card is a T1 from the telco setup for D4 AMI. Unfortunately, I'm not receiving caller ID on inbound calls from this line. The caller ID information is arriving in the form *ANI*DNIS*. In zapata.conf, I have signalling set to em_w. The DNIS always arrives correctly, but I'm never receiving the ANI

Caller ID and DNIS Problems (Non-Pri T1)
I am trying to receive both CID and DNIS from the telco through a
non-pri T1. Currently I have the T1 setup and operational both outbound
and inbound calls are completed as should be expected. The calls came
in and were placed in the context specified in zapata.conf on exten =>
s,1.
I have requested that the telco provide callerid (they call it ANI)

problem I am facing is that I am not getting any caller id from the

Please help me out.

Outbound Caller ID on PRI
We have just had an ISDN PRI service commissioned here in AU (using Powertel
as provider). I have called them and ensured that we have the ability to set
Caller ID on our service to any number in our 100 number block, and I have
been assured that everything is OK from their end (unlikely). Every time I
drop a sample.call in to /var/spool/asterisk/outgoing with the Callerid:

Caller ID
We do not get caller ID (name) on our telco lines.
However we have a few single line extensions with consumer type handsets
that ring at odd hours with "Asterisk" before the phone is picked up, and
"Out of Area" after it is picked up.
I have read that "Asterisk" is what is reported by Asterisk for 0 length
caller ID number.
But since we don't

Caller Name: Asterisk reading too fast
I asked my telco to release caller name on the PRI. Earlier they were
releasing only the phone number.
I still did not see the name, but only the number in caller id. Actually
I now see number twice. When I inquired with them this is the response I
got:
"I ran a trace on your TG. I see that your switch is
picking up the call so fast that it is not able to pick
up the name. The

DAHDI not detecting caller hangup
Hi,
Odd problem have just noticed in that when I call into the PBX DAHDI detects the call and hands it off to the extension, if I then hang up it still continues to process through the dialplan.
This is what I have in chan_dahdi.conf:

echocancel=yes
usecallerid=yes
cidsignalling=v23

Little confused about Caller ID
OK here it goes..
Caller ID is two parts or actually three:
Part 1 Number only
Part 2 Number + Name
Part 3 Whole lotta stuff (also known as ADSI)
Here is the US, I cannot speak for other countries.
When party A places a call to Party B. Party A's Telco picks up the
number, either from a table on the switch or passed from the PRI from
Party A. Then on the far side (Party B's Telco)

Looking for PRI Outbound Caller ID Configuration
I'm having trouble setting the outbound caller ID on calls I make from my
PRI trunk group. The PRIs are served out of a 5ESS. Telco has set the PRIs
up for user provided caller id information, so I believe I just don't have
it set up right in my dialplan or something. I can't seem to find an
example of setting the outbound caller ID specifically for a 5ESS. Does
anyone have an

Asterisk, VoiceTronix & UK Caller ID
Hi All,
Just a quick question, but I could really use some help on this one.
I've got the CVS-Head of * installed and running, and am using a VoiceTronix
OpenSwitch12 to connect to 12 analouge lines. I've got callerid activated by
the Telco, and can get callerid using a std phone. However, using *, I
always get an error 'Cannot decode callerid'.
Does anyone know if I need to
