Anyone had any luck with SIP clients on the iPhoneplatform?
I'm using it rather successfully. Not perfect, but it works. It is limited to WiFi connectivity... at least here in Spain I cant get either client to work over 3G. I'm using Fring and Truphone. Although I have only configured a SIP to my Asterisk with Fring. Skype works fine. We tested with several Nokia 5800 (EM) using Fring. Call quality is worse. At best, we have a 1+ second delay.

Anyone had any luck with SIP clients on theiPhoneplatform?
That sounds like the ideal app for me too. Fring requires we register with Fring and give them user id/password pair. In our case it did not work until we put a public IP on our Asterisk. I just bought WeePhone and I'll give it a try on the iPhone. Iphone setup
I would like to setup an iphone to be an extension on my pbx. I have looked at SIAX as well as Asteriskc2d. Does anyone have any experience with either of these or another app? The important thing for me is that I can run it in the background so I can always be available to receive a call. It has to work over both 3g as well as wifi so I can take advantage of my data plan and not use minutes

SIP app for iPhone that works well with Asterisk?
Anyone have a chance to test any of the various iPhone SIP apps? I see there are a few out there, but most of the iTunes reviews aren't sufficiently technical to be useful. Thanks.

logit link + alternatives
Help needed with lm function: Dear R's, Could anyone tell me how to replace the link function (probit logit, loglog etc.) in lm with an abitrary user-defined function? The task is to perform ML Estimation of betas for a dichotome target variable. Maybe there is already a package for this (I did not find one). Any hints or a code excerpt would be welcome! Thank you -Jeff jeff.pr2 (at)

Which JavaScript effect is this?
http://canadaonrails.com/ (when you hover over news and events) I''ve seen this implemented on a few rails sites now and I was just wondering if it is just a simple javascript from the prototype library. Does anybody know of any links on how to do this? Thanks in advance! -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/.

How to manipulate an abitrary dimensioned array.
If I have an n1 x n1 x 2 array X I can calculate, say, X[,,1]/X[,,2]. If it is a 4 dimensional array then I want to be able to calculate X[,,,1]/X[,,,2], and similarly for higher dimensions. How can I write a function to do this in a general way without having to do a switch for each possible length(dim(X)). So I want a function g that will take an arbitrary dimensioned array, X, and return

Displaying Calculation on Index
Hi, I am trying to create a simple point system and display the total on my index page. So I have my db basically setup like this: Posts id, body, created_at, user_id Post_points id, post_id, user_id, created_at, value So as you can see I am allowing other users to create points on the post and my db will store who gave the point as well. "value" is the point value which can

Active Record Basics - Making it commentable
hi everyone, I hope someone can help me out with some active record basics? I''ve been banging my head for the past 4 hours and I can''t seem to get it to work. I am trying to add comments to a caption (just like how one adds a comment to a post in a blog). I seem to be able to read posts just fine from the DB, however, I can''t use the "recordComment"

Re: calculating the needed swiotlb in dom0
I just found out that setting swiotlb=128 in dom0 grub.conf allowed me to run my mythtv domU with additonal options to ivtv: in /etc/modprobe.d/options options ivtv enc_mpg_buffers=8 Setting this to any higher value causes a kernel panic. I want to be able to specify options ivtv enc_mpg_buffers=16 enc_vbi_buffers=8 How much swiotlb do I need? Is there a way to figure this out or is it just

restarting fastCGI process
Hi, I am very new to this so please go easy on me... I am trying to deploy my app on dreamhost and I seem to be having problems getting it working. One of the troubleshooting items on the wiki states: Rails apps in production mode do not reflect changes made after they start running. So, if you found a bug, fixed it and nothing appeared to happen--this is probably because you

IAX complaints? What are they?
Hi, We all know what the principal advantage of IAX is, doing it all on a single port, right? But now and again I hear complaints about it. What specific griefs have you had with IAX and has it stopped you from using it entirely? Under what conditions have you had problems? I have used SIP and IAX for about three years now. We don't do a lot of traffic, but I haven't really seen a

Calculating row COUNTs
hi everyone, I''m trying to do a simple calculation in my rails project. I would like to find all rows in a table that match the given id of another table (ie. comment_id) and has the value = 1 ("value" is a field in the table), then add those values up. Next find the same rows with the value = -1 and add those values up also. Finally, I would like to find the total.

Hi all, You're welcome as always to join the talk on the VoIP Users Conference, VUC for short. VUC began as the "Asterisk Users Conference" but for obvious reasons, we changed the name in the first year, although Digium was our sponsor for three years. We still have plenty of you who are asterisk users and developers on this our fifth year. Come on by, listen, talk ro text on IRC.

[LLVMdev] Fail to compile LLVM on Gentoo Linux
Hi all, I think it's Gentoo's bug, but I want to know if anyone has the same issue here. I am compiling LLVM trunk on Gentoo (gcc 4.5.2), and I get error message below, --- make[4]: Entering directory `/nfs_home/chenwj/llvm-3.1/svn/build/tools/clang/lib/Frontend' llvm[4]: Compiling InitHeaderSearch.cpp for Release+Asserts build
