nut mailing-list user by spammers
Hi, FYI, I started receiving spam to the email address I use only for this mailing-list, about one week after I posted a couple messages onto it. So the nut mailing-list is definitely used by spammers for email addresses harvesting :-( -- Michel Bouissou <michel at bouissou.net> OpenPGP ID 0xEB04D09C

WAY OT: domain name registration .co.za
Hello All, Very sorry about WAY off-topic query, but you folks really are one of my most International subscribed groups. I am looking for a recommendation for a domain name registrar I can register my .co.za domain name with that won't 'yank my chains'. I tried a couple attempts at registering and found some hidden fees along with the insistence that I had to host my DNS with

Spammers attempting SASL Auth
Hi This is a new one on me - I've never seen spammers attempt to use to SASL Auth to inject spam. None of the users they are trying (newsletter, dummy, test, etc.) exist, but what worries me is the illegal chars error - is this a known vulnerability in dovecot they are trying to exploit? I'm running 1:1.2.15-7 installed from apt-get.. Oct 17 15:07:16 mail postfix/smtpd[14422]: connect

[LLVMdev] Spammers
Clearly spammers have entered our midst. Having this list be moderated would be a good thing I think. -- Robert. PABX & VOIP Gateway
Hello, I'm researching the possibility of using VOIP (SIP) with an existing PABX system. Ideally, the setup would be to dial an outside line through the PABX (that would actually link to the the VOIP gateway). At this point I would prefer not to purchase a hardware-based VOIP gateway. I would prefer to use a software-based gateway for research & testing purposes. Could anyone please

hdt-project.org no IP?
Unable to determine IP address from host name "www.hdt-project.org" Getting this today? Not sure what issue is? I paid for the renewal back in 08/04/2016 and and in 2015, so the domain should be current? But the whois seems to show it is expired? Went to the gandi site, and it doesn't show a renewal option or anything? whois hdt-project.org [Querying

my spammer list
Hello, Thanks to some nice people on here and other forums I have pretty much finalized my whole mail system on centos 6.x. With all the checks, greylisting, dev/null of any 8+ spam level SA, I still get a few mails. It seems like everytime I enable a new protectant, the mail stops spamming for a few hours...then the spammers decide I am worthy of using better methods against me..and more

What are the various models of DID providers
Hi, Inspired by a recent rant about one particular provider, I am getting very curious about something I've never mastered. I'd like someone to explain this here or at least post a link or two that can educate me and probably countless others who have no knowledge in this area. I'm sure there are several of you reading this that know all about the subject. What are the various

Asterisk download file locations
This is a request to the website manager for asterisk.org. The build scripts for our ITSP product include the URLs to download the Asterisk files, such as: wget "http://ftp.digium.com/pub/asterisk/asterisk-1.2.5.tar.gz" However, if a new version is released, asterisk-1.2.5.tar.gz is moved to the "old" directory. This breaks our scripts until we can update them and send

The internet needs a dialing code..
It seems to me that ITSP's like to use a US dialing code eg 1-xxx Wouldn't it be cool to have an Internet dialing code?? I don't know what the structures are or how the allocations work but it would be so cool to know that 1-xxx was USA , 44-xxx was UK and yy-xxx was an internet phone.. That way the whole internet phone space could be consolidated into a single dialing structure

The spammers have discovered us
Unfortunately, the no-spam picnic is over; the mouthbreathers have finally discovered the xiph.org mailing lists. I've changed the list posting policies to 'members only' until such time as I can set up a better filtering solution. All mail from other addresses will bounce into a dead-letter bucket. Of course, this is a pain in the ass for folks who post from a number of sites.

Ahah. I will end this here. I misread the newsgroup address on the original 'what's happening here', assuming it was for the vox group, which encourages idle rubbish. I hit reply, and believed I was mailing to this group. I apologise for wasting the bandwidth if icecast group members with such things. This is also why I did not hide my headers. If you like, mail me off-list and I
