wine-20050211 on SuSE 9.2
I am trying to install wine-20050211 on my second system, which runs
SuSE 9.2. After much faffing around I finally managed to download and
install bison, which allowed ./config to complete. A warning at the end
advised me to install xlib-devel or xfree86-devel. Googling around I
found the RPM for XFree86-devel for SuSE 9.1 so I downloaded it and
started to install it. Unfortunately, a

installing 32 bit wine on 64 bit computer help
Hi,
I'm following the below instructions to install 32bit wine in 64bit fedora, and don't know in which folder I need to run the ./configure command. The yum install part went fine as far as I know, but I need to find where the configure script is located.
Thanks

cairo and rapache [was: Weird errors on MAC OS X Leopard when using Cairo/GDD through Rserve]
Charles, Greg,
the problem is that Apple's FreeType on Leopard uses CF calls (albeit
just to get files), so it breaks on fork. (The message is moot,
because the whole point of using fork is to *not* use exec).
In any case the solution is to compile your own version of freetype,
fontconfig and cairo without any CF or Carbon API. Fortunately most
recent versions of FreeType will do so

fontconfig and FT_Get_BDF_Property
Hi all,
After upgrading my fontconfig to 2.2.0, fc-cache -vf gives me an error:

symbol "FT_Get_BDF_Property" when it tries to build the cache for non
bitmapped fonts.
I have:
1. updated my CVS ports tree
2. rebuilt fontconfig, freetype, expat and Xft using portupgrade
(portupgrade -frR )

Building R with Cairo
All-
I have been hacking on an R 2.15 build on an Ubuntu 10.4 box, and I do

Configuration completes without the expected additional capability (cairo)
R is now configured for x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu

One possible cause for incorrect symbols in X11() output
There have been spasmodic reports of symbols such as pi and infinity
in plotmath being reproduced incorrectly on the X11 device on some
Linux systems (at least Ubuntu 10 and Fedora 12/13), and we've managed
to track down one cause whilst investigating PR#14355.
Some systems have Wine and hence the Wine symbol font installed.

CairoPDF, Fonts, and Windows 7
Hi All:
I have some basic questions about Cairo graphics engine. I'm trying to use the Cairo package to produce PDF output, mainly because I perceive it to be easy to use with a wide variety of fonts.
But right now, I'm stuck trying to figure out what fonts are available to be used with Cairo, specifically the CairoPDF function. I've been able to successfully produce some test PDFs
