I've repeated the "samba-tool dns add", and the "samba-tool domain join" commands with "-UAdministrator". I get the same errors with either user. (the error

John Brown from Chagres!
Sorry to everyone on the list, but for some reason this is the only reliable way to get hold of John. John Brown of Chagres Technologies, please contact me! I have been trying for weeks now to get hold of you via email and phone after wire transfering money into your account for the Grandstream phones we ordered, but so far I have not had a single response, nor have the phones arrived! Please

Connecting to guest shares on an ADDC Server
Hi All, Hopefully someone can help here. I'm being asked for user name and password when I try to connect directly to the share from computers that are not on the managed domain. My config (the relevant parts) - > [global] > server role = active directory domain controller > map to guest = Bad User > map untrusted to domain = yes > security =

Sharing user folders doesn't work when users have periods in names.
I am using period as an IMAP separator with Maildir directories and I cannot share folders where the user has a period in their name. Suppose I log in as 'some.user' and do: SETACL INBOX mailtest at example.co.uk +lrwstipekxacd /var/mail/virtual/users/some.user/Maildir/dovecot-acl is created, with appropriate contents and shared-mailboxes.db gains an entry for

Pass-thru port on X100P Clone
I am using 2 X100P clone cards in my asterisk system, and have one phone line plugged into the 'line' port of each card. On one of the cards, I also have a cable plugged into the 'phone' port and this cable is then connected to the modem on my PC so that I can use it for dial-up. I thought that this would then allow me to do dial-up and at the same time it would lock the port so

Rsync to backup dbox with SIS
We will be deploying a replacement Dovecot server soon, and we are planning to use maildir for the primary storage, but with an archive namespace using mdbox (or perhaps sdbox), and SIS. Our backup servers and (luke)warm spare server need to obtain full copies of the mail store. For the maildirs I know I can simply use rsync (we already use it here). I'm a little wary of using rsync with

error during DRS repl ADD: No rDN found in replPropertyMetaData
The system described by https://lists.samba.org/archive/samba/2016-May/199829.html (Invalid data for index DN=@INDEX:OBJECTCLASS:DNSNODE) now appears to perform DNS updates correctly, all systems are 4.2.10-Debian, and we've been able to add a user and a new DC. (Thanks for the help!) Synchronisation between v-ward (the new local DC), and empire isn't entirely working, though. >

Can quota_rule be inherited by child mailboxes?
Is there a way to make quota_rule apply to subfolders? I've got some symlinked mailboxes which I want to exclude from quotas. This would work, but is verbose: quota_rule6 = USERS.aaa:ignore quota_rule7 = USERS.bbb:ignore ... quota_rule9999 = USERS.zzz:ignore But simply writing this: quota_rule7 = USERS:ignore doesn't apply to USERS.xxx and so on. The wiki says

Announced Call Transfer
I know this topic has been done before but I cant find an answer for it anywhere. I have Grandstream phones running with my Asterisk server. Is there anyway to do announced transfers with these phones? i.e. A is talking to B, A then presses a key to initiate transfer, calls C, tells C that B is on the phone. Then A hangs up and C is connected to B.

Dovecot's maildir format / is rm safe
Is it considered 'safe' to delete directly from a dovecot Maildir? I mean things of the form: rm Maildir/cur/1288062016.M581217P9422.alpha,S=1873,W=1900:2,S The wiki tells me 'If you wish to modify them in any way, create a new message instead and expunge the old one. ' but it doesn't mention deleted files. Specifically I'm wondering what happens with:

LDAP acl_groups - can multivalue LDAP be used
Hi, Is there some kind of way to get acl_groups out of LDAP without having to maintain an entry with a list of groups 'a,b,c' and so on? Our groups have a list of 'member' attributes with CNs pointing at users. Ideally there would be a way to look this up directly. Alternately I could perhaps use an OpenLDAP overlay to show 'group' attributes for each user's ldap

user_attrs seems not to set 'mail'.
Hi, I am using Dovecot 1.1.13 (from a Debian package). I was having problems using user_attrs to set 'mail' and 'home'. Initially I tried: user_attrs = uid=mail=maildir:/var/mail/virtual/users/%$/Maildir/,uid=home=/var/mail/virtual/users/%$/ This appeared to set 'home' but not 'mail'. In the debug lot I see: May 12 15:24:40 alpha dovecot: auth(default):

Cisco 7960 become UNREACHABLE behind pix firewall
Hi, I have about 10 Cisco 7960s behind a PIX 506E (IOS v6.3) firewall. After some period of time, asterisk says that some of them are unreachable, and the phones lose their registration. The only way to make the phones recover is to clear the NAT translation tables for the phones on the PIX (clear xlate...) Does anyone know how to fix this? As you can imagine, it is quite annoying. And it does not

Cisco 7940 and PJSIP registration
Thank you. I read that last yesterday afternoon, and I could've sworn I tried that but I will look into it again (I've tried so many different things it was getting cloudy what I've tried and what worked etc, combined that the extension config gets messed up after playing with it so much so I'm often recreating it as well). I also found a bug report in the FreePBX bug tracker

Invalid data for index DN=@INDEX:OBJECTCLASS:DNSNODE
We have a Samba primary domain controller "empire", which seems to have DNS update issues. We can seem to query all records on empire just fine, and we can modify IPs for existing records, but it will not delete or add new records. Attempting to delete via the AD tools shows "Local security authority database contains an internal inconsistency". Adding a record on the command
