Communications Summit this Friday. Usually we begin at 12 Noon EST but
we may start earlier so please check the site, IRC, Twitter or
Facebook for the exact start time. If any of you are planning to be
there, please email me if you'd care to have coffee or something
stronger. Also, if you happen to be in the

Fwd: more on Free World Dialup groups and FWDLive
FYI
It looks like FWD is looking for value added service ideas for free as
a volunteer.
I think it will fail but we shall see. I really don't get the nerve
of them (Free World Dialup has changed it's name to FWD) to ask for
free ideas and development on a non-free service.
Maybe if they can come up with a killer app and people will adopt it,
then it might work, but then again, people

FW: NYC Special Event - Join Us
Anyone know what they are going to be announcing?
Any relevance to Asterisk? When are we going to see a decent video
conferencing implementation into Asterisk?

HD Voice
Video on HD Voice. Worth a watch but nothing you wouldn't already know
about.
http://www.eweek.com/article2/0,1895,2193922,00.asp
My question however is this - when are ITSP's going to start offering
digital voice services with HD codecs?
It's crazy that calls to my clients via skype are better quality than
the calls via my itsp's that I pay money to are.

don't have a public facing web page but you are looking for people to
click on but a personalized list of numbers. In order for someone to
access this directory you are going to be asking for a username/password
correct? If so just tie the username to a selection of 'my location'
checkboxes that I tick and then the app remembers this location next

Confused about NAT and Authentication with FWD
I have recently started experimenting with Asterisk. I am running the system the other side of the a NAT router and trying to connect to FWD. I have opened UDP ports and have configured sip.conf to handle NAT.
The problem:
I can call from the FWD phone and the extension on Asterisk rings and there is two way sound so no problem.
Now if in the extension.conf file I have,

RoR user group in NYC?
Hi all,
On the Rails wiki there are a few user groups listed, including one in
Long Island, but none in New York City proper. Are there any user groups
in NYC not listed to which people belong (including relevant
non-RoR-specific ones)? Would love to share some ideas...
thanks,
- michael.

Announcing Digium/Asterisk World's Conference Program
Is this replacing Astricon this year?
If so it looks like a pretty poor showing in comparison to Astricon
Dallas last year.
Cheers,
Dean

RE: Asterisk-Users digest, Vol 1 #1033 - 7 msgs
Same thing. It will make sense to try
Register => <FWDnum>@fwd.pulver.com:<FWDpass>@fwdnat.pulver.com:5082
but in that case Asterisk sends
REGISTER sip:fwdnat.pulver.com SIP/2.0
which is not right. It should be sip:fwd.pulver.com but sent thru
fwdnat.pulver.com:5082
