AEX410P drops DTMF digits
Hello again list, I'm running a 1.4.42 install on SUSE with an AEX410P card. The DAHDI release is 2.4.0 because the machine won't properly install 2.5 and also won't install Asterisk 10.0 because I can't get a good SQLite3 library to install. Whenever I enter DTMF very quickly or very slowly, app_read des on me. Has anyone experienced similar joy

Hello, We want the ability to choose from an AGI script whether or not to enable faxdetect for calls over SIP or DAHDI. Is this possible, or can anyone suggest a workaround? agi voicemail callback
I'm wondering if there is a simply way to perform a voicemail callback feature using AGI. For instance, a caller leaves a voicemail, the voicemail will then call the owner of the voicemailbox determined by a database look up. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... drop dead fix
Hello list, I am about to have to dump Asterisk in favor of some other VOIP/PBX solution; the reason? I have 304 voice prompts recorded as 22Khz wav format files that sound like crumpling paper whenever I convert them to the 8Khz wav/gsm format required by Asterisk. I was considering trying the G.729 codec, but reading through the specs, I see that the 8Khz conversion is going to

What am I doing wrong?
Hi Gang, I've got the latest SVN branch of 1.4 downloaded onto SUSE 11.0. Everything is happy EXCEPT, I can't get fax to be recognized by make menuselect. I tried copying app_rxfax.c and app_txfax.c to the apps directory and starting again from ./configure, but no joy. Any suggestions? Question about voip.ms service.
Hey; I figured I would ask here as I seem to get better results. I am using the voip.ms <http://voip.ms/> VoIP service. I have no problem configuring my Asterisk server 1.8x to dial out with my Softphone. HOWEVER, for some reason, I cannot get inbound. All that I hear is a busy signal. I know this is not much for you folks to go on, but what would be a good place to start

Hi Guys, Currently, I have a Sangoma A400 installed with 20 ZAP PSTN analogue lines. The first line is giving me problems due to rain (probably coroded line). broken pipe in perl agi
Hi gang, Since I'm getting no joy from device_Status or SIPPEER in 1.4.26-rc1, I thought I would do an AGI to read my hints and check for line in use that way. The AGI works fine from a prompt, but returns the dreaded "utils.c:966 ast_carefulwrite: write() returned error: Broken pipe" when I try to run it from the dialplan. Here is my dialplan snippet;

Random File Name
Hi, Im looking at using MixMonitor to record calls and I know that I need to set the filename first. However, with the number of calls coming in, hard coding the filename isnt an option. So I need to do something like this:- MixMonitor(RANDOMNUMBER.wav) But can't find a way to generate a random number. I thought that maybe I could use a unique variable that already exists for the current

AGI and Severe Weather Alerts
All, I am toying with an idea of using an AGI to be able to 'call' my phone, or phones, in case of severe weather warnings. I have been tinkering with a script that reads from weather underground for the forecast, based off a PHP version of a weather AGI I found on the net. It seems rather trivial to have the AGI as a script, that does nothing unless a condition is met, and

Why write your dialplan using Lua?
Hello, Reading through the Wiki: "Asterisk supports the ability to write dialplan instructions in the Lua programming language. This method can be used as an alternative to or in combination with extensions.conf and/or AEL. PBX lua allows users to use the full power of lua to develop telephony applications using Asterisk" My question is, what is the benefit of using Lua? I recently
