CDR changes in Trunk -- Transfers, CDRs, Life, and Everything
I have created an asterisk.org blog entry:
http://www.asterisk.org/node/48358
to describe what I will shortly be committing to trunk to correct the
weaknesses of CDRs, that asterisk users and developers have been
complaining about for quite some time.
Highlights: Restructuring the code and philosophy of CDRs.
Plans to eliminate the ForkCDR() application

Setting MixMonitor options from Queue
Hello,
We are recording our calls to queues by putting the appropriate options in
our "queue.conf". This is all working properly.
We would now like to set the MixMonitor option to adjust the caller volume
(which is very quiet). With the regular MixMonitor application, we would
just add the "v4" option to make it much louder. I don't see a way to set
this option when

JIAX status
HI,
Anyone knows the current status of JIAXclient?
I tried to recompile the sources available in sourceforge but
they reference a old java package that I was not able to find.
I tried to e-mail the author but seems that his account is no longer valid.
I in need of a java IAX client that could be loaded as an applet. I know
that
is a lot of viable SIP alternatives, but due to NAT/Firewall

Asterisk 1.4 CDR vs VoIP Innovations CDR
When I compare my total minutes on the bill from VoIP Innovations, to
the number from our CDRs, I'm finding a smalish (3-4%) discrepancy in
the count of minutes. I'm wondering why it's there.
Are there different methods of counting the billable start or end point
of a phone call?
If it matters, I'm counting more termination minutes than they are and
they're counting more

only the first ResetCDR works after upgrade to 1.6
Hello -
I am upgrading from asterisk v1.2 to v1.6 and I am seeing a problem with
recording CDRs using MySQL. Unlike all of the other postings and web
pages I have found on this issue, my installation successfully stores
the -first- CDR, but nothing after that.
As background info, I will note that I don't use CDRs for billing, but
more in a logging fashion, to record how a given call

Circular links and backups
Hello,
I ran into an interesting problem earlier today. I have a Unix
machine I maintain in a largely Windows shop. They use Windows Backup
for their backups, and so I created a readonly share of the entire
filesystem with one user, "backup", who is an admin user. This lets
them back up the entire Unix machine by attaching to the "backup"
share, but nothing can be changed.

(Un)PauseQeueMamber usage
Does anyone have an example of hoe to use these two commands? I have read he
documentation, and I am still unclear on where this command goes, as part of
extensions.conf or where?
If someone could post a working example it would be most helpful.

log to cdr each dialpan action, not only one record for each call
Hi to all.
What can i do if a customer needs to log in the CDR all the dialpan
actions related to a call?
I mean, not only the lastapp e the lastdata but all the dialpan actions!
I know that the actual CDR system store one record for each call (and
for billing purposes this can be correct) but in some cases the
approach needed is something similar to the queue_log.
I know that exists ResetCDR

update CDRs in mysql during a call
All,
According to my readings CDRs are stored at the end of the call. My concerns
is when asterisk goes down (I know that it's never happen but it's just in
case) or when the is a power shutdown of the server. then CDRs are not
stored in mysql. is there a way to store periodially CDR during a call, and
set the periodical timer regarding the context.
if no is there a way to retreive CDR,

CDR problems -- two call legs create only one CDR. Using ForkCDR() not even working.
Hello,
When I bridge an incoming and outgoing call (attempting to simulate
call-forwarding) I'm only getting one CDR -- that of the outgoing call.
A (PSTN) calls B (residing on Asterisk) and the Asterisk calls C (cell phone
on PSTN) and bridges the call.
The only CDR created is from B to C. I have even tried using Answer() and
ForkCDR() to get two CDRs, but to no avail.
I am starting to

Asterisk's DANGEROUS Transfer CDR's
Hi All,
PLEASE READ if you depend on Asterisk CDR's and support transfers.
Apologies for the shout but I'm desperate to get others to agree Asterisk has a
big problem with the CDR's that are generated for transfers. I can understand
why not too many people are interested as transfers are complicated and
messy. However for those of us having to support transfers and depending on

Getting correct CDR info
I'd like to know how everyone else is going about getting correct CDR
information for calls. Right now I notice that if a call come in and gets
parked the CDR info doesn't how the correct info on who picked that call up,
also when someone transfer a call there isn't a new record being made so the
duration of the call shows up for who received the call and transferred it.

cdr question
Hi,
Would just like to ask about cdr, i have an asterisk and i would like to bill only outbound calls not extension to extension, when i'm looking at the CDR, i can't figure out which fields i need to filter all outbound calls only.
e.g if i dial 00. or 9XXXXXX (for local pstn calls) those are billable, 100 101 or 102 (all local extensions) not billable.
*97 for voicemail not billable,

Forking a call
Hi,
Using 1.6.2.13.
I'd like to know how I can force Asterisk to fork a call. To simplify
things, Let's say I have an out context (for outbound calls) and an in (for
inbound). If person A wants to call person B, and both are on my servers, I
don`t want to send the call out. I want all this to happen internally on my
server.
The problem is if I use some condition to send

CDR changes in 1.4.3?
Hello all:
I upgraded to 1.4.3 last night and use MySQL for CDR.
I have noticed that 1.4.3 seems to log a lot of "crap" to CDR that
1.4.2 did not. I use a few macros in my dialplan to handle outgoing
calls (lcr type stuff) and in addition to the proper CDR for the call
itself I also have records to 's' in the same dest-context and entries
to 's' in the default context.

CDR custom variable on second call leg - via originate or .call file
Hi
We have the following test .call file and test dialplan:
I can't set a custom CDR var to a value on one channel leg, and another
value on the connected channel leg?
Is there a way I can woraround this issue?

CDR Design
I've taken the liberty of starting a new thread to discuss the design
of the Asterisk CDR mechanism. The discussion has been kindly
initiated by murf putting together a proposal:
http://svn.digium.com/svn/asterisk/team/murf/RFCs.
After reading the proposal I still don't think it's the right way to
go. To my mind adding more channel variables increases the complexity
in a situation

exten=>h and ResetCDR
Hi friends,
I have the entry exten => h,Hangup in my extensions.conf, and I am trying to
record the call details for billing. From the wiki i found out that the use
of "exten=>h,..." is not suggested for the CDRs. What impact will the use of
'h' make on CDRs? Also, what is the advantage of using ResetCDR with
exten=>h?
