Asterisk/app_rpt and bandwidth
Hello to the list,
I have a question about Asterisk/app_rpt:
When a signal is *not* being received and or transmitted by the radio system
attached to Asterisk/app_rpt via its interface, is the incoming and or
outgoing data suppressed (silence suppression)?
In other words! At idle but still connected to some other device, what data
will be transferred?
I currently don't have access to a

IAX2 help needed...
I run a phone in a remote office using the IAX2 protocol. It mostly works
fine; except that every 5 mins it loses connection with Asterisk, before
reconnecting 30 seconds later; rinse & repeat.
Using the IAX2 debugging, I'm seeing this a lot:

1.4 and IAX Trunks ...
Something I've just noticed that might persuade me to move to 1.4 ... in
iax.conf, there is a new option:
transfer=mediaonly
Does this mean that it keeps itself in the loop as far as signalling/CDR
is concerned, but lets the media stream go between the 2 endpoints?
ie.
Asterisk A <-> Asterisk B <-> Asterisk C
Where B keeps track of CDRs, so right now I have

Domain Admin with tdbsam on 3.0.2a
Firstly I apologise for the length of this query but I am hoping that if I
document everything I did someone might respond / be able to help.
My Configuration is Samba 3.0.2a as a PDC on Redhat 8. I cannot for the
life of me get the "Domain Admins" functionality to work
I am hoping that another set of eyes can shed some light on this problem
as I have now spent 41 hrs googling /

Announce: shoregen 0.1.1 release
Hi folks,
As requested earlier in the week, i''ve done some cleaning on my little

the results are available now.
You can find a (rather banal) pointer at:

Wine on FreeBSD PCBSD and Mac OSX Screenshot tour
This is a Bordeaux on PC-BSD 8 Screenshot tour. This tour will show you how easy it is to install Bordeaux on PC-BSD and start installing Windows Applications and Games. Bordeaux has a single dependency on Zenity once Zenity is installed..
Their is also a link to the Mac Screenshot tour at the bottom of the PCBSD article.

Problem with openvpn and tun interface
I'm scratching my head here a little. And my post to the openvpn mailing
list is not getting any attention.
I have an openvpn server working with Windows clients and I thought I'd
try to get a client config on a CentOS box running. The client is a
minimal install of CentOS and I like to use shorewall (3.2.x). I've
tried to run the vpn client with the fw off and on with no change.

Winbind, cached logons and 'user persistency'...
I've noted that some weeks ago, but i was upgrading all my PVE cluster
so i've considered it benevolent.
Yesterday i've updated my main switch, disconnecting for a brief lag of
time all my ''infrastructutes''.
My SMTP server (exim) start to complain about 'unroutable addresses':

Does dovecot work OK on *BSD?
Hi all,
I have a dovecot server on my Debian Wheezy desktop computer. My days
with Debian are limited, and I'm investigating several 'BSD's:
OpenBSD
FreeBSD
PCBSD
NetBSD
DragonflyBSD
etc
Is there any reason Dovecot wouldn't work on any of those? Does anyone
know if those OS's have packages for Dovecot, or do I need to compile
it myself?
Thanks,
SteveT

Newbie Questions
Hi
Many thanks for providing this software.
I have version v2.0.0 b1023 installed on a QNAP NAS. The station is working fine (http://digitalcarnage.myqnapcloud.com:8002/stream). However I do have a few questions.
How do I submit my station to the Icecast directory? I may have got it wrong but I understood that the application submitted it automatically? Or do I have to submit/create and XML

IAX2 call drop
Hi all,
I'm experincing IAX2 call drops for about 20% of calls.
I tried 'notransfer=yes' and 'jitterbuffer=yes' but to fail.
My system configuration is like this.
PSTN<========>Asterisk(TDM/Fxo 4port*3)<=====LAN(IAX2)=====>Iaxclient library
And iax.con is...

IAX2 attempts native bridge when notransfer=yes
This comment comes up fairly regularly and is confusing people.
Why doesn't it say that it failed so we know?
The way it is now it kind of leaves you hanging there and you don't know
if the transfer happened or not.
And why was it even attempted if it is obvious that transfer is off?
(I know it can depend on the remote side.)
