one-way IAX trunking
Two asterisk servers, one running a recent HEAD, the other 1.0.9. I have
both ends set up with trunk=yes, notransfer=yes, type=friend. I notice
that the trunking works from HEAD to 1.0.9 only (the direction in which
calls are originated). I know this by bandwidth usage and by iax2 trunk
debug.
I did have to use trunktimestamps=no on the HEAD end to keep it quiet. I
assume this is the new

More HEAD wierdness (chan_sip, jitterbuffer/PLC problems)
Hello,
After checking out CVS HEAD from yesterday (for those new
PLC/Jitterbuffer patches), I was affected by bug 3795 with my Polycom
IP600's. After seing it resolved as of this morning (thanks Mark), I
decided to try again...
I can answer incoming calls. No problem there. Putting calls on hold,
however, results in my Polycom IP600 indicating the call on hold, but
the caller does

trunk timing on 2.6.x
Two asterisk, one in a 2.4.x and another one in a 2.6.x are connection ok
using IAX, before i upgraded one of them (the one with 2.6.x) Trunk was
working ok. Since i upgraded the one that its now 2.6.x, i m getting this
message:
chan_iax2.c:5067 socket_read: meta trunk cmd 1 received, I only understand 0

IAX voice distortion with full upload channel / SIP ok
Hi,
this is the scenario:
One * is placed in a central location with more than enough up/down
bandwidth. One * is placed behind a DSL 3000/384. Both * are linked via
IAX trunking. Everything is fine until the upload channel of the remote
site is filled with a download, then heavy voice distortion starts. Well
of course this is expected. So I fooled around with HFSC QoS scheduling
on the remote

Meaning of " requested special control 20, passing it to SIP"
Received this on the console
-- IAX2/76.21.238.129:4569-4986 requested special control 20, passing it

Did a Google search, but reached a dead end
Can anyone explain?
Something need to be changed in my configuration?
The call completed satisfactorily.

IAX2 Trunking - CVS-Head
Hi
Is anyone successfully using iax2 trunking with CVS head ?
The reason I am asking is that I have heard there may be some audio
problems, which I would like to know about before sending customer's
calls over a iax2 trunked connection.
Thanks in advance.

Problem with IAXy
I'm having some problems with a bunch of older IAXy devices.
I have three S100I devices working. I can call each device from each
other and everything works perfectly.
When an inbound call comes in (from PSTN) and is routed to the
device, it works perfectly as well.
The problem is that when I place an outbound call (to PSTN), the
remote party can hear me well, but I cannot hear the

Distorted VM with iax2 with ilbc and jitterbuffer - bug?
Two asterisk boxes 150 miles apart, both cvs-head as of this morning
(and since Sept 27th), connected via iax2 with low-utilized ds3 internet,
C7960 calls exten on remote system (also C7960), and call goes to VM.
No other calls in either system (eg, no load).
Both boxes have iax config'ed as:
trunk=yes
allow=ilbc
jitterbuffer=yes
Recorded VM messages are very distorted.

html glitches with help?
Looking at the html generated help pages for a package I'm working on, I
noticed a couple of things that looked a little funny. I suspect they
are general features of the html for R (I don't usually look at it).
First is a problem of vertical alignment in tables. The first column
consistently aligned vertically *below* the alignment line of the bottom
line of the second column. This was

modifying a built in function from the stats package (fixing arima)
Dear members of the list,
I''m a beginner in R and I''m having some trouble with: "Error in
optim(init[mask], armafn, method = "BFGS", hessian = TRUE, control =
optim.control, :
non-finite finite-difference value [8]"
when running "arima".
I''ve seen that some people have come accross the same problem:

Canberra distance
Hi,
I misunderstand the definition of Canberra distance in R.
On Internet and in function description pages of dist() from stats and
Dist() from amap, Canberra distance between vectors x and y, d(x,y), is :
d(x,y) = sum(abs(x-y)/(x+y))
But in use, through simple examples, we find that the formula is :
d(x,y) = (NZ + 1)/NZ * sum(abs(x-y)/(x+y))
with NZ = nb of pairs of coordinates that are

Make asterisk 1.0.7 fail under FC4
After more investigation, I decided to just recompile asterisk (on my
newly upgraded Fedora core 4 system). Make dies with this error:

It seems this directory is gone under FC4, and replaced by

Thanks for your answer.

scan(...comment.char="#") breaks my code
I've just discovered the recent addition of the comment.char arg to scan, a
useful feature no doubt but the default value of # rather than "" breaks my
code which looks for # as a delimeter in a file and provides a messy
incompatability with earlier versions of R and with Splus.
Is there any chance that this default could be changed to ""?

read.table( ... comment.char="#") truncated my data
Dear all,
I found that the new feature of the comment.char="#" argument in the
read.table function truncated my data while the data set actually contains
'#'. We analyze lot of data that contain '#'. This is really annoying and
it is also not compatible earlier version of R. I searched the R archive
and found the following message for the scan function. Is it
