Small site survivability
We are currently moving away from a wide-spread Cisco CallManager deployment to Asterisk. For many of our small sites we have the routers configured for what Cisco calls SRST so if we have a WAN failure, the router acts as a SCCP registrar. We are converting to SIP, and from what I can tell Cisco wants a license for each router to run SRST over SIP... So my question to the group is: What are

Best dahdi switchtype to emulate (network side)?
We are connecting a new device to our voice system, and the vendor has a whole list of "supported" network devices and associated parameters for the Telco to adjust... Yes, it's the telcos issue... Anyway, out of all of the swtich types that dahdi can emulate, what is the most complete/tunable solution? The premise for those interested is a PRI connection to a Dialogic card,

Experience with LLDP
Hello, LLDP is more and more available on various network elements (endpoint, switches, ...). It seems to ease network configuration. Do you have any experience with it ? How would you rate LLDP ? Asterisk error - 1.6.2 SVN - voicemail files "corrupted"
Hi, I know I am using SVN, but I was wondering if anybody ever came across this error. I can't read my voicemails because files seems to be corrupted, for lack of a better word. When I do access my messages, I get those errors: [Dec 2 19:45:05] NOTICE[25993]: app_voicemail.c:7432 open_mailbox: Mailbox: /var/spool/asterisk/voicemail/xxx/709/INBOX, expected 0 but found 3

Expuning & Purging doesn't fully remove emails?
Hello, I'm facing an issue where deleted emails keep re-appearing after my mailbox index gets recreated.??I'm running version 2.2.36 of dovecot, but I tested the same scenario under 2.3.10. I'm also using mdbox, autoexpunge, and using dovecot replication. I've had several instances now where some expunged emails show up again in a mailbox. I noticed this error: doveadm: Error:

Purging Deleted Messages
I noticed today I checked a users mailbox with the mutt command: mutt -f /home/bob/email/ There I saw he had 100 messages that had been deleted but not yet purged from his inbox so they're still using up disk storage on my email server. My question is does Dovecot have a process to automatically delete these messages after a certain period of time? I would like to think that they don't

Expuning & Purging doesn't fully remove emails?
But is that not adviced in the manual[1]? I am also in the process of setting up dovecot behind a haproxy. Still testing with this. I was wondering why one would choose haproxy and not eg dovecot proxy (with director) [1] https://wiki2.dovecot.org/HAProxy -----Original Message----- From: Zelic Bojan [mailto:bojan.zelic at kudelskisecurity.com] Sent: woensdag 26 augustus 2020 23:39 To:

Recovering expunged but not purged e-mails from mdbox with zlib compression
Yesterday I had to recover an e-mail which a user had deleted. If I understand this correctly the message was expunged but not purged (doveadm purge had not been run). This e-mail was clearly still in the mdbox stored with zlib compression as I could tell using the doveadm dump command (doveadm dump -t dbox filename). I could however not reveal the e-mail with the normal doveadm fetch -u

How to purge mailboxes manually [dovecot_1.2.15]
Hi, we have a linux network at the office. Mainly ubuntu and debian systems. Each user has it's own mail client, thunderbird, evolution, etc. In the mail server we use as the local delivery agent, dovecot 1.2.15 and the protocol imap. The users mailbox are in the server at /var/mail. Due to some kind of problem the mails that are set for delete in the mail client are not being

Keyboard repeat error - VNC Xen virtual framebuffer
Hello Xen-Users, I am currently provisioning old Linux guests as HVM on a server, and giving clients access through VNC. The current setup uses the default Xen framebuffer as a VNC server (all configuration files have vnc=1 and a few other settings), and my clients are using vinagre (a.k.a. Remote Desktop Viewer) on Arch as their VNC client. Problem: Keyboard input is not consistently handled

How do I clean up corrupted files from zpool status -v?
Hi Folks.. I have a system that was inadvertently left unmirrored for root. We were able to add a mirror disk, resilver, and fix the corrupted files (nothing very interesting was corrupt, whew), but zpool status -v still shows errors.. Will this self correct when we replace the degraded disk and resilver? Or is there something else that I''m not finding that I need to do to clean up?

Email Alerts for Multiple UPSs with upssched
Ah! So I can detect the source UPS in the upssched.conf and pass it as a distinct event to the shell script. That sounds like an excellent approach. Thanks! Handling unmanaged resources and their files/configs
We have resources that, from time to time, are selected to be removed (unmanaged). When it comes to ssh keys, fstab... this leaves a lot of stuff behind that we don''t want. Is there a simple way to remove the unmanaged data so we can keep the systems clean. Thanks. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Puppet Users" group. To post

Class Naming Convention
So, this has always puzzled me a bit. By convention, init.pp contains one class, named the same as the module. However, what is the convention when the module may have multiple external access points? Say you have a module called ''syslog'' which provides both a client and a server class. I typically have used syslog::server and syslog::client. I''ve ended up using this
