For Your Information - Our Experience with ATCom Phones...
Hello All
We purchased *25* new AtCom AT- 530 phones. Four of them did not work for
even once and some of them lost configuration after some days. I talked to
AT Com people over chat for support. They have just 1-2 people for support
who are also busy in some other activities due to which they are unable to
communicate in proper way. Often support guy left conversation suddenly and
is unavailable

[Atcom] Asterisk + LAMP on 128MB RAM?
Hello
I'm thinking of selling an Asterisk server based on Atcom's IP02
solid-state unit with one FXO and one FXS ports:
http://atcom.cn/En_products_IP02.htm
By default, this unit based on a 400MHz Blackfin 532 chip only has
64MB RAM and 256MB of NAND flash. Those can be increased to 128MB and
1GB, respectively.
Do you think I can install Linux + Asterisk + LAMP (replacing MySQL

Atcom AG188N as FXO?
Hello
According to this article, this nice little unit can only use the PSTN
port for outgoing calls (ie. as a backup in case the connection to the
VoIP provider stops working), but not incoming calls:

Can someone confirm that Atcom made this strange decision, and that
there's no work-around?
Thank you.

Atcom IP-4B ISDN IP PBX?
Hello
For customers who need a small IP PBX to handle up to four ISDN lines
(in France, so I guess that means EuroISDN) instead of a PC + Asterisk
and an ISDN gateway box, has someone already played with the Atcom
IP-4B?

Any feedback appreciated.

Seeking opinions: Polycom IP330 phones?
Does anyone online have an opinion on these? I've used 500/510/6001/601
models before. Need to know if these apparently lesser models can be
provisioned in the same way. Are end uers happy with them?
Thanks,
Michael

Jumpers and DIP switches on Atcom AX-4S and AX-1E
Hello all !
Does anyone have a document describing jumpers, DIP switches, and connectors
on Atcom's AX-4S (HFC-4S based 4xBRI) and AX-1E (HFC-1E based 1xPRI) cards
? Got the cards without any documents, there is nothing on a subject on
Atcom's site, and so far no one from their support is replying to my emails.
Thanks very much.
Cheers,
Nenad

MWI on the PA168V in IAX mode?
I've gotten nothing from http://bbs.atcom.cn on this so far. Perhaps
someone on the list has experience with this.
Is there a way to get MWI support for PA168V-based ATAs? Apparently
some IP phones based on the PA168V chip has this support already
(Atcom AT-320 for example) by configuring Asterisk with
'mailboxdetails=yes' in iax.conf. On my ATA, however, it does nothing.

For those of you who may be interest....
IAX2 loads are now available for the standard builds...
http://www.aredfox.com/edownloadsiax2.htm
Just a word of caution...
Remember to change the ports over to 4569 from whatever.
And don't forget to grab the palmtool from

My own testing of IAX2 with both a phone and an ATA

Samb and Ldap groups
Hi,
After some carefully editing of pdb_ldap.c I have managed to get a list of groups from the LDAP directory if you are root or anyother user. :-)
The problem now is if you run the command (from win2k) net group it /domain (where 'it' is the group name) or try to open a group in user manager you do not get any listing of uers in that group. The error in windows is "Group name

BAD PASSWORD: it is based on a dictionary word
A non-root user is trying to change their password but cannot because of the
message:

They swear its not true. Anyways, I was just curious where (if anywhere)
the config file lies for this functionality. Do you know? -mike

Soft phones.
Hey, all. I'm looking -- if possible -- for a decent, multi-platform
soft-phone. Specifically, Linux and Windows; that way, I'll go through
the same issues my end users do. I've noticed a couple (e.g., minisip,
which seems abandoned, and sip-communicator, which, honestly, is probably
a great IM client, but has a confusing interface for actual phone calls).
So I'm wondering if

building a phone
Hi folks
A common wisdom here is that one should use a proper hardware phone
rather that an extra software on the user's PC. Why is that such a big
issue?
One thing that bothers me with the current crop of hardware SIP phones
is that they are hopelessly properitary.
So what would it take to build a fully-adaptable phone?
Here are some of my thoughts. This is not anything I plan to do soon

directmedia/canreinvite/native bridging question
I've got several SIP clients with dynamic IP addresses
Asterisk has one public and one private IP address
SIP clients might connect to Asterisk from either the internet or the
private network (192.168.1.255) - they're portable
By default, directmedia/canreinvite is enabled and Asterisk sets up
direct media connections between clients. In this case clients on the
internet can make calls

[Softphones] ZoIPer vs. XLite?
Hello
I need to hook up someone's remote PC onto our Asterisk server over
the Net. There are firewalls on each side, so I figured it's time to
give IAX a try, and see if it's less of a pain to use than SIP. And
since IAX hardphones are pretty are, I guess I'll go softphone.
Apparently, the two most well-known IAX and SIP clients for Windows
are ZoIPer and X-Lite, respectively.
