Asterisk MWI issue
Hi,
I am using Asterisk personally at home.
My SIP client (SPA 3000) supports MWI with SIP NOTIFY messages.
With a previous version of Asterisk I had no problems with MWI. But now I am using the following version which comes with Trixbox 2.8.0.1, and I have problems with MWI.
Asterisk 1.6.0.9-samy-r27

When a voicemail is left on the extension, a SIP NOTIFY message is sent

Questions about chan_dahdi, PRI, MWI (and Q.SIG)
Hello everyone,
My setup:
Debian squeeze
Asterisk 1.8, DAHDI, libpri, compiled from source
TE110P, attached to a Deutsche Telekom Octopus E Modell 300/800
I'm trying to get MWI for Voicemail working. In the same server I have
also got an Eicon DIVA PRI card for testing purposes (it is integrated
via CAPI and the chan-capi channel driver into my Asterisk). MWI works
just fine there.

Asterisk 1.6.1.x SMDI MWI w/Fujitsu F9600 Problem
We have recently pulled an ancient Fujitsu-branded Centigram voicemail
system out of production use and replaced it with an Asterisk box, which
is now serving as our enterprise voicemail system and automated attendant.
The Asterisk system is connected to a Fujitsu F9600 PBX and uses the
1.6.1.x SMDI module to communicate between the two systems.
Save for one issue, the replacement of the old

Question about MWI in Asterisk 1.4.0
Hello
I am running the following setup in order to make VoIP calls at home.
Home Phone <-> SPA3000 <-> Asterisk Home <- IAX2 over Internet <->
Asterisk Office
The voice mail for Home Phone is hosted on the Asterisk Office
machine. I wanted to have a way to check the status of my voicemail on
my home phone directly. In order to do so, I've patched both Asterisk
Home and

Execute command after hangup / MWI
Hi guys,
is there any way to execute a command *after* a caller has hung up the
call? Something like
exten => s,1,Voicemail
exten => s,2,AGI(mwi.agi)
I'd like to turn off the MWI on my cellphone (which is done by gammu[1])
Or does anyone know a way to check the state of the MWI from outside,
i.e. with a cron-job? I'm turning on the MWI with the email-notify from
voicemail, but

Get MWI from Telco's voicemail
Howdy
I have a question regarding support for picking up when the telco sends a MWI message.
My client's setup is a small office with three incoming lines on a TDM400P with iaxy's and a Grandstream as extensions. I am using CVS Head from yesterday. (I was resolving a different issue.) Since they only have two voice lines, with the third as a fax, I am using voicemail from the telco.

Repost: External voicemail and MWI on internal phone
Hi,
I didn't get any response to this posting so thought I'd post again in the hope
that anyone who missed the posting the first time may be able to offer some ideas.
This problem isn't specific to the particular model of phone - I can see from
sip debug that the local extension itself is not being sent any Messages-Waiting
headers.
Any alternative strategy would also be welcomed

Q: If you have your SIP phones registered with SER but
your voicemail is handled by asterisk, how do you get
the MWI (Message Waiting Indicator) light to function
on the phone?

mailbox= wrong context. was: Newbie - MWI
my biggest concern about defaulting the context to anything at all
besides [default] is that you then have to remember to configure the
voicemail.conf with the corresponding contexts. as it stands, you have
the ability to do just that, but you don't have to. if you have several
hundred extensions broken out by dozens of contexts, it might not make
sense to force the voicemail.conf to follow

MWI on Zap analog phone not lighting
We are using Bellsouth 8867 phones on our TDM400B FXS lines
(asterisk-1.0.3). It has a "Voicemail" light, which appears to be MWI
(according to the manual it works with voicemail from the telco that
sends a FSK signal). The dialtone stutters when a line has voicemail, so
I know that I have the mailbox setting right in zapata.conf, but the
light doesn't go on. I am also getting

Asterisk MWI and Realtime
I'm testing my asterisk system and the realtime backend. My Asterisk
build is rather aged, 03/18/2005 CVS. I have successfully moved Sip
peers and Voicemail boxes to the realtime database backend and this
works very well except for MWI. I don't seem to be able to get MWI to
work when I store the voicemail information in a database backend, from
a flat file it does work fine. I'm using

MWI on Cisco 7905
Hi,
I'm using a Cisco 7905 (with SIP image CP7905010300SIP050414A) on
Asterisk 1.07.
Whenever the user gets voicemail, the MWI goes on, and when the user
listens to the voicemail, the MWI goes off. However, the phone is
configured (as in the default config by Cisco) to re-read its
configuration from tftp every hour. This 'warm reboot' also turns off
the MWI, and it won't

OT - MWI, Polycom/kirk and Gigaset handsets
Hi,
It seems to me that DECT Gigasets do not support MWI when connected to a
Polycom/Kirk DECT base station :
when a new message is dropped into user's mailbox, I can see a NOTIFY
message sent by Asterisk to Polycom/Kirk DECT base station (here a KWS300)
but Gigaset's handset MWI remains unlit.
At the same time, a Polycom/Kirk handset subscribed to the same base station
would turn its MWI

Snom 320 voicemail key & MWI
Dear List,
I'm having a blinking MWI light on the snom 320 even when there's no message
waiting in Asterisk.
We've managed to make the voicemail button work using
fromdomain=192.168.0.1 in sip.conf
vmexten=2500 (our VoicemailMain application extension in extensions.conf).
We also added
notifymimetype=application/simple-message-summary also in sip.conf to allow
SIP simple MWI

Subscribe/Notify MWI not working for non-numeric accounts w/X-Lite
ok this is a wired problem. when i use X-Lite - after i register with
asterisk X-lite sends a subscribe/notify request to asterisk to
determine if the account has any messages waiting.
if i create a sip.conf account using:
user 12345 with a voicemail box 12345 - MWI works
user jwolosuk with a voicemail box 12345 MWI fails (gets a 404 not found
upon a subscribe)
does anyone have a clue why

Call Manager & Asterisk for VM - MWI not working
Like some other people on here, I am trying to integrate Asterisk for VM
with CCM version 3.x. I've got gnugk and Asterisk running, I've got CCM
registering with the GK, I've got the voicemail pilot and profiles
setup. A call comes into a CCM phone, it rings, rolls to the correct VM
on ASterisk and asterisk emails the voicemail and I can check the
voicemail, but I cannot get MWI

MWI indicator HINT on Snom thru IAX?
I have many remote locations that dial into a central server to retrieve
voicemail via IAX. Outbound calls are handled as SIP calls from a Snom to a
local (to them) Asterisk server that dials the main server thru IAX. I have
trained them to check their voicemail via the emailed WAV file, however some
of them are, how shall I put it, idiots*, and insist that they *have* to
have the MWI indicator

Extra REGISTER messages sent by Asterisk when subscribe for MWI is defined in zoiper
Hello all,
I have an Asterisk installation with Kamailio using realtime integration. I
have gotten my clients to register, but there is something odd about the
sip message flow with some of my clients. My clients are Zoiper and
Asterisk is 11.10.2.
When I set 'Subscribe to MWI' value to 'both', after a normal, successful
registration Asterisk begins to send REGISTER messages to
