Transfer beep w/ Polycom phone
Hi all.
When a user transfers a call by pressing the "transfer" soft button on their
phone, I'd like it to "beep" at them when the transfer is complete. I've got
it turned on in features.conf:
xfersound = beep ; to indicate an attended transfer is complete
xferfailsound = beeperr ; to indicate a failed transfer
However, it seems that

Problems with sip registrations through HP Procurve 7102dl
Hi,
I have a strange problem, when I try to connect to les.net from our local asterisk server through Procurve router I seems to be connecting on any port above 1024 and when I reload sip the port is changing too ...
So I never get 5060? Any ideas on what is going on and how to resolve it?
?
Sincerely,

Beep on Attended Transfer
Hi,
During an attended transfer using the SIP phone feature buttons, I'm getting a few complaints from recipients that they can't tell when the call they are receiving has been transferred.
Is there any way (even if it's complicated) to generate a beep tone to the recipient of the transferred call when the transfer is completed?
I know you can do this with DTMF codes but they want to

sip attended transfer beep
Hi All,
I see some patches about adding atxfer beep sound in the sip channel,
but I'm not clear on when this was implemented in what version?
I don't see the added function in chan_sip in 1.2.24 or 1.4.21 or 1.6.0.28?
Where is this code implemented, what stable release?
Thanks.

random beeps during calls
Asterisk 1.2.4
FreePBX 2.0.1
I am running a TDM400 card with 3 FXO and 1 FXS cards. During most all
calls, there are random beeps in the background. The other party cannot
hear this (I believe since they haven't said anything). This will
happen when people leave voicemail, and also on most or all calls. I am
running Polycom IP 501 phones. The beep/tones are not DTMF. It does

asterisk hung up the line after 10 minutes right after a beep beep beep sound
I have a normal setup of calls coming in on analog lines (4 of them)
coming into
an old KX1232 pbx. I have those lines forwarded to a T1 card in the KX1232
going over to my T1 card, it then uses IAX going over to my REAL
asterisk pbx.
(these steps are there for testing and other items)
Anyway after a 10 minute call asterisk gives a faint beep, beep, beep
and then
hangs up the line.

How to get BEEP BEEP BEEP when underline sends 486 Busy Here.
Hello There,
I would like to play a busy tone (ie BEEP BEEP BEEP) when the underline
carrier sends back 486 Busy Here. Looking at Dial parameters (
http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/view/Asterisk+cmd+Dial), it mentioned
something about the r
parameter as not being very professional or something like that...
Then there was:

Weird problem with beep.wav!
This is really doing my head in!
For some reason, my asterisk box can't playback beep.wav.
I have this extension defined in my internal context:
'10001' => 1. Answer() [pbx_config]
2. Wait(2) [pbx_config]
3. Record(/tmp/asterisk/10001:gsm) [pbx_config]

HoldMusic Beep
Does anyone have a audio file they would be willing to share for on hold
music?
I am looking for something like the old norstar beep every few seconds.
I tried 3 seconds silence, beep.wav, beep.wav. But it just didn't sound
right. I need one that has a "softer" beep.
Thanks!

"Low" beep on voicemail
We've had a few people complain that the "beep" before leaving a
voicemail is not loud enough and too short. Does anybody have a
recorded beep that they can share, that is a little louder and a little
longer? We've had this box in production for 2+ years, so I hate to
mess with the gain on the PRI or anything like that because everything
else works fine.

Make PXElinux beep
Hi all
We are using some old SUN Monitors which won't display anything until
the OS is up and running, supplying the correct sync.
To let users know, when to select from the (unvisible, but known) menu,
i would like to output a beep when pxelinux is waiting for input.
Googling shows that this question has been raised several times and the
proposed solution was to insert a CTRL/G in the

How to get a beep on a Auto Answer Intercom - Cisco 7960
I have the auto answer working fine on my 7960 phones on line 2, but when
line 2 answers, it does not make any sound until the call begins speaking.
I would like to have the phone beep when it answers so the person being
called knows the speaker phone is in use. This would be much like a
overhead paging systems that plays a tone before an announcement is made.
How can I have asterisk answer the

Testers needed for VoIP router solution
Hi all,
We have put together a firmware for a range of inexpensive routers.
It has been configured to provide optimum VoIP performance.
We have internally tested it for number of months and it looks very good.
You should be able to run it easily with 20+ phones on local network ( we
still did not hit the upper limit ) assuming that you have bandwidth.
Your VoIP will get prioritized over other

Is anyone using * for 2 way video conferencing?
Hi,
One of my clients, wants to use * box to run weekly meetings between remote
locations over the internet.
What would be the best configuration for this? We are talking about two
conference rooms.
I am referring to the actual hardware/software and bandwidth requirements
for this to work well.
I have run two software video phones and I had marginal results with it when
