Noisy Ring Back Tone with TE205P card
Hi, I am having problems with an Asterisk with a Digium TE205P card. The issue is that the Ring Back Tone is noisy. I am making modem's calls and this noise influences on the initial negotiation protocol, so modems have to recall. My configuration is: Asterisk version: Asterisk 1.4.21.2 Linux version: CentOS release 5.2 (Final) Card: Digium TE205P

prompt for "send a message" not played in VM main, HOWTO resolve
All, Just came across the prompt #3 from inside the top menu of VM in latest stable. Allison does not announce the prompt, but if you know it is there, you can press 3 & successfully follow the prompts from there to send your message to other users on the system. But, of course, obviously, I am asking: how do I resolve the situation whereby the users are not hearing this prompt? (since most

register => to let Asterisk register to another softswitch via SIP
Dear Alex; Thanks alot for your nice help. This is if I need to let Asterisk register with another softswitch (so I used register =>), what if I need asterisk to send call for the softswitch without register to it (directly)? If I removed the register => then how it will distiguish the IP address in the "host" at the [sip_trunk] is the IP address of the softswitch that need to

howto copy a voicemail message to another machine ?
My asterisk server is in the cloud. Figuring out how to send an email is too much brain damage. So i can't use the email feature that's built into voicemail. What I want to do is execute a remote command with the voicemail as an argument. The remote machine command would email the message. I'm thinking of: same =>n,VoiceMail(vm,u) same =>n,System(ssh myserver "emailVM

"The credentials supplied conflict with " ..message
We have just upgraded from Samba 1.9.18p7 to 2.0.6. We are now encountering this problem with 2.0.6 which was discussed back in 1998. We never had the problem with 1.9.18p7. We haven't changed the smb.conf as we are just using Samba in basic fileserver mode. Is there a change we need to make to get rid of this message and restriction occuring? The credentials supplied conflict with an existing set of credentials
I have a different Unix userid for each project I'm working on, so I need to provide a different userid/password combination for each drive I map to my NT 4.0 SP3 system. But, whenever I try to supply a different userid in the "Connect As" box and hit "OK", I get the message: The credentials supplied conflict with an existing set of credentials Something I read in the

AGI Process Count (HOWTO?)
Is there any way to see the number of AGI processes that Asterisk is handling? Either console, Asterisk Manager, or from within the AGI? I used to just count the number of running copies of my AGI process (ps aux | grep agi) but once in a blue moon one of my AGI processes will become a zombie or for some other reason not stop when Asterisk disconnects from it. I'd like to know, from

Good practices to make a Kerberos "mount.cifs" launched by root but with the credentials of another user
Hi, I have a Debian Stretch computer which is a "samba4 member server" of an Samba4 AD domain (versions etc. are mentioned at the end of the message). I think my config is OK and I can open a _graphical_ session with an AD account user. The display manager of the computer is Lightdm. For for instance, I can open a graphical session with the AD account bob (uid == 14001). In this case, I

Windows Drive Mapping Using Other Credentials & w/Persistence Fails on Reboot But Manually Mapping Works
Samba Experts, Has anyone ever seen/experienced an issue where a Windows client has a drive mapped with credentials, other than the credentials used to login to the Windows client, to a Samba share with the persistent option selected but after a restart of the Windows client the drive mapping fails. Therefore, if the drive had been mapped with the credentials of the user logged in to the

XP fails to cache Domain Credentials
My win2000 laptop caches the domain credentials so I can log into the computer when disconnected from the network. However, Windows XP SP2 laptops cannot. I get a "domain unavailable error" even though the local security profile on the laptop is set to allow domain credential caching. My other client, with XP laptops and a Windows 2000 server, has no problem. Is this a Samba 3.0.8

CIFS Share with encrypted credentials
Hi, I have a CIFS share that I mount on a CentOS6.4. Currently I am keeping the password in a regular hidden file, for example /test/.cred with the username and password. the /etc/fstab directive points to that file. for example: //10.0.0.1/share /mnt cifs defaults,credentials=/test/.cred Since this file is readable by the root user, I figured if there might be a way to

'credentials' file doesn't work - also observed by others
Background: Linux, Debian (Sarge). I want to auto-mount an smbfs at boot. smbmount version is 3.0.7-Debian. With the following in my fstab, I can do the mount as root, but have to provide a password (hence either I can't boot unattended, or can't mount it during boot): //<server>/<share> /mnt/point smbfs

ATA phones ring when they register
Hi, I have an 8-port Grandstream GXW-4008 V1.2A ATA converter with analog phones connected to it. They work fine except for just one "feature" I would like to modify. Somehow, each time the ATA re-registers the SIP clients or each time the device has to be rebooted for maintenance, the phones ring once. This feature can be useful as it notifies the user of the re-registration.
