I see that some messages are addresses to wine-users@winehq.org and

Which address is correct? Thank you.

MS Office in Wine: Hebrew backwards
I must install MS Office in Wine on Ubuntu Linux. It installs fine,
but the Hebrew is backwards. Googling the problem led me to this
video, which illustrates the problem:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=19I2qaykE6w
Does anyone know how to fix this? I am on a full UTF-8 Hebrew locale,
if that is relevant. I installed MS Office 2003 in English on Kubuntu
8.04. Thanks in advance.

Hi everybody,
I'm new to Wine. I'm running Mandriva 2006. On the Internet I read on a

it to make covers using the Nero Cover Editor.
Thanks in advance.

bidi / rtl language support in Ruby (Rails)
As long as you are only doing web things with HTML Ruby and Rails are
doing well with Arabic / Hebrew languages. As soon as you want to
export that data into lets say an image or a pdf you need to reorder
the UTF-8 string with a so called "bidi" algorithm.
Has anyone implemented this in Ruby? Or exists a wrapper for Pretty
Good Bidi Algorithm http://crl.nmsu.edu/~mleisher/ucdata.html or

BiDi Support
Hi,
I was just wondering if anyone could help me with this weird problem.
I am trying to install an Arabic program using wine.
In order to do so, I run:
LANG=ar_SA.utf-8 wine install.exe
The title in the title bar comes out correctly, however, whatever content
the program might have comes out blank, nothing.
I just could not figure out why it came out right in the title bar, but
nothing comes out

Trying to compile R 3.5.2 - 32 bit R - on Windows 10 64 bit - with ICU support
Hi,
I am trying to compile R with ICU support.
I am following
https://cran.r-project.org/doc/manuals/R-admin.html#Building-from-source
I have downloaded and extracted
https://www.stats.ox.ac.uk/pub/Rtools/goodies/ICU_531.zip
to
W:\R-3.5._\App\R-Portable\ICU
I have modified MkRules.local
# set to use ICU
USE_ICU = YES
# path to parent of ICU headers
ICU_PATH = w:/R-3.5._/App/R-Portable/ICU

binomial simulation
hello,
I asked about this simulation a few days ago, but still i can't get what i
need.
I have 2 units: icu and regular. from icu I want to take 200 observations
from binomial distribution, when probability for disease is: p=0.6.
from regular I want to take 300 observation with the same probability: p=0.6
.
the distribution to detect disease when disease occurred- *for someone from
icu* - is:

linear models and colinear variables...
Hi!
I'm having some issues on both conceptual and
technical levels for selecting the right combination
of variables for this model I'm working on. The basic,
all inclusive form looks like
lm(mic ~ B * D * S * U * V * ICU)
Where mic, U, V, and ICU are numeric values and B D
and S are factors with about 16, 16 and 2 levels
respectively. In short, there's a ton of actual

The current implementation is O(n) and I took care to keep it at that.

"FixMe GetCharacterPlacementW" on Igor 5.04
Hello everybody,
I am a new user of wine so please excuse me if this problem has already
been fixed... (but it seems not ;) )
I recently installed on my Gentoo (up-to-date) the CVS version of Wine
and installed Igor (version 5.04) using different profiles (Win98, 2000
and XP).
Igor is a scientific software I use to analyze measurements data.
When launching the Igor program, it prints normally

ICU
I've just been looking at ICU with an eye to reworking the unicode
queryparser patch to use it. A few things have jumped out so far which
make we wonder if it's the best option. I don't really know what the
alternatives are though (currently QueryParser uses glib's unicode
routines).
The first is that there seems to be bad version skew. Ubuntu breezy
