Sending SMS with a Portech MV-374 GSM Gateway
Hi,
I have a Portech MV-374 GSM Gateway and I'd like to send SMS from a web
page to confirm the subscriptions. How can I achieve it? Is Asterisk of
any use to send SMS with the Portech? I really have no idea because I
know nothing about the whole SMS thing...
Thanks,
Niccol?

Problem with Portech MV-372
Hi,
I am experiencing a weird issue with my MV-372.
Mobile1 & Mobile2 are both registered to my asterisk server, I am able to
use them for outgoing call with no problem, but when I call the sims in my
gateway, they are routed to the right context/extension/priority, but as
soon as I hangup, the sim unregistered from asterisk and tries to register
with my the callerid of the last incoming

Sending / Receiving sms messages with Portech 370
Managed to get the portech 370 up and running with asterisk (even got
the callerid working!), but was wondering how (if) it is possible to
send / receive sms messages through the device . All I could find
googling was people asking how ;(
Does anyone have sms working with this device ?

GSM Gateway
Hello,
I am looking for a gsm gateway that is SIP based i.e no need of FXO/FXS
analogue connection.
I searched the email archives and found messages from 2008 but not sure
how accurate these are.
What do you use and how well it works ? The only sensible one I found
is one made by portech and one that is made by Eurodesign.
The one from portech is like a trunk while the one from eurodesign

GSM / 3g channel bank
More than 60% of our outbound calls are now to mobiles, so the time has
come to whack in a gsm channel bank.
Does anyone have any preference of bank ? Do you use a PRI or VOIP
connection from the bank to asterisk ? Real-world experiences are sooooo
much better than marketing blurb ;)
We currently have a TE412P with a free socket, so we have a choice
either way. I am looking for up to 30

GSM gateways - which one ?
I've been asked to purchase a gsm gateway for use with our asterisk
server (for our use, not reselling)
I have a spare ISDN port on the server, so I have use either a PRI or
VOIP gsm gateway.
What would people recommend ? Has anyone used the QuesCom 400 ?
I would also love to know a rough idea of cost ;)
Once I've gotten the info, I'll post a message on the biz list for a

GSM Cards for Asterisk (UK)
Hi,
I am currently building a 1.4.4 Asterisk box for a client and they
are interested in GSM functionality.
Does anyone have any experience with a GSM card, preferably Quad Span
(4 GSM modules or higher) for use in the UK. I have seen the
Junghanns* version but I am not keen on the limitation of having to
use a BriStuffed version of Asterisk.
Do Digium make one ? as I am unable to find

Asterisk trunking
Hello !
I am experiencing some problems with Asterisk trunking, this is the scenario:
There are 3 servers, a DID server provider (VOIP provider) which
delegates us a bunch of DID numbers to our asterisk server number one
(I will call it AA), from which I route the calls to Asterisk server
number 2 (I will call it BB), which then terminate on phone handsets.
The trouble is, that I probably

Slightly OT: Android phone as sip-gw?
Hi,
i have some spare (read: Boss get's a new one every few month ;)) Android
Phones laying around. Does someone know a way of using them as a mobile
gateway for asterisk? I could not find any SIP-Gateway in the Market, and i
don't think it's possible to use the GSM Audio directly with something like
chan_datacard...

Jay

G.729 licence in devices connected to Asterisk
Just a short question: I will have Asterisk using G.729 codec and connected
to some voip devices such IP phones (GarndStream) and a GSM gateway
(Portech).
Do IP phones and GSM gateway include valid G.729 licenses or do I have to
pay for them ???
Thanks a lot

Sip Node w/ 4 wire audio & AT command set call supervision
I have several discontinued Sierra Wireless MP775 mobile GSM/EDGE radio
modems. These devices were originally installed in emergency vehicles to
provide data and voice access along with GPS reporting. They have external
RF connections for GSM/EDGE and GPS signals. The baseband side includes four
wire audio, RS-232 serial, USB and some parallel digital I/O for panic
switches etc. GSM voice

Command line not conform with mv/cp convention
This may not be regarded as a bug, but it actually affects and is sometimes
boring.
Suppose *foo* and *bar* are directories. When someone types:
*rsync foo/ bar*
rsync will sync foo/* into bar/
However, if he/she types:
*mv foo/ bar*
mv will move foo into bar/ and cp behaves like mv
I think the trailing / shouldn't matter so much. What matters should be the
asterisk after /

'mv: preserving permissions for `all.R': Operation not supported' when installing R 3.1.0 via compiling source code in CentOS
I compile R3.1.0 to install it in centOS without root. The disk partition format is NFS (network file system). After configure it ($/home/XX/download/R3.1.0/configure --prefix=/home/zj/local/R --enable-R-shlib --with-x?) successfully, I make it ($make). But there always is an error when make the base package. [PATCH] utils add minimal mv
mv is needed these days in initramfs.
One needs to move all the data of initramfs /run to the real rootfs.
This minimal mv utiliy originates from the existing ln.

What is equivalent function to "mv" command in php for Asterisk Spool directory usage?
Hi Everyone,
I understand that there are a few warnings about using "cp" to move .call
files to /var/spool/asterisk/outgoing as they might acted upon before copy
is done. So, using PHP, What is the equivalent of "mv" command? Would it be
rename() in php or is there a better method?
Thanks,
