txfax (app_txfax) sending issue
Hi All,
With spandsp.0.0.2 pre20 installed I can't seem to send faxes with
tx_fax over a Zap channel (POTS). rx_fax works just fine so no issues
with libtiff and (presumably) libxml2.
Basically I get 'slow carrier up' and 'slow carrier down' together with
accompanying beeping noises until tx_fax times out and hangs up. This
could quite possibly be a PEBKAC or n00b

Can this be done ?
Would setting the variable FAXRESOLUTION to a appropriate value affect
this change ?

SpanDSP rxfax TSID variable name?
Scott's SpanDSP FAQ mentions that the senders' TSID (20 bytes sent by
sending fax machine) is made available, but doesn't mention where or
how. Is there a variable or something that's set? I didn't see it in
http://www.voip-info.org/tiki-index.php?page=Asterisk+variables
Thanks,

Enable verbose output for TxFax/RxFax
Hi, I'm using asterisk with a digium TDM400P: I can't send/recive faxes
with a Philips fax machine.
It seems that the fax machine doesn't recognize the carrier.
How can I see the spandsp logs? I've enabled debug on the asterisk CLI,
but I can't see any output while the txfax/rxfax application runs.

txfax on strike while rxfax works flawlessly
Hello,
I have installed SpanDSP and the apps txfax an rxfax. Unfortunately I am
having problems sending faxes. I only get cancelled transfers. I am
trying to send a fax to a ISDN card connected to a zap channel.
I am using following call file:

Rxfax and Txfax on Asterisk 1.4
> AFAIK the current recommendation is to use HylaFax with something
called iaxmodem.
After having been through a lot of problems with RxFax and TxFax I
completely agree with this statement. Allthough the initial
configuration is a bit complicated, once you have this running you'll
get far better reliability.
Kind regards,
Ardjan Zwartjes.

SendFax: not setting the fax header
Hello,
after I solved my problem with the fax processing after receiving,
I got another problem while sending a fax: the header is not set properly.
I use a PHP_Script to upload a PDF file and to generate a call file.
A bash script is looking for existent call files in the web directory
and moves
them the asterisk's outgoing directory.
Ok, my call file looks like this:

Softfax/spandsp Makefile.patch rxfax/txfax
I followed the instructions at http://www.opencall.org/instructions.html
and
http://lists.digium.com/pipermail/asterisk-users/2003-October/025094.html
I was able to compile spandsp (./configure ; make ; make install),
"manually" patched asterisk apps/Makefile (/usr/src/asterisk/apps), as the
supplied patch does not fit the actual CVS apps/Makefile
After make clean ; make install, I

TxFax -> RxFax on same machine hangs
Hi,
I noticed a strange behaviour:
Faxing using spandsp (TxFax) from my asterisk box to my
old, common fax machine at home works fine.
Faxing from the same box to my office pc-fax (Hylafax)
also worke fine.
Receveiving faxes on my asterisk box using spandsp (RxFax)
also works fine. It is a PSTN number connected to the digium
card of that asterisk box.
Then I faxed from my asterisk box (TxFax)

TXFax/RXFax/AGX-Addons/SpanDSP Crashing

Hi all,
anyone else seen RX/TXFax crashing Asterisk on latest Asterisk SVN?
I've now seen it on two machines I tried to set up - one it seems
because the tiff file was malformed, but the other is doing:
tiff -> tx fax -> zaptel -> pstn -> ddi -> zaptel -> rx fax -> tiff
The above crashes every time.

RxFAX - How to catch errors in the dialplan
Hello!
We use RxFAX, version 0.0.2-pre26 over ISDN and it mostly works
well. Occasionally we get .tiff files that are not convertible
with tiff2pdf. This may occur if the connection is interrupted,
I guess, but we also saw cases where the sender seems to
have got an OK but the .tiff is not readable anyway. Therefor I'd
like to check the return of the rxfax command a bit closer,
but there is

Sending faxes with T.38 problem. Asterisk - 1.6.0.6
Hello,
I'm having difficulties to make Asterisk (1.6.0.6) interoperate correctly
with a CISCO mediaGW in order to send faxes to the PSTN using T.38.
When Asterisk sends the initial INVITE containing the T.38 media offer in
the SDP, the CISCO answers with a 488 Not Acceptable Media.
Apparently, it looks like a configuration problem in the CISCO, but I have
tested the CISCO with the Zoiper
