Copyright Protection
Does anyone know how to get around copyright protection? I'm using SUSE
(Version 10) and I'm trying to run several CD's (games) that use copyright
protection.

Lost
I'm not very bright and rather frustrated... I was wondering if someone who
knows how to use wine would be willing to give me step by step word for word
commands on how to use wine. I've been through the manual several times and
still don't know how to install anything, much less use it. I'm using the
lastest version (0.9.9) which I installed through yum. I'm hoping someone

Announcing another ddraw/d3d7 patch
Hi,
Merging the code into WineD3D is done now, so the last thing is to merge the
new ddraw code. I have uploaded a new diff to
http://stud4.tuwien.ac.at/~e0526822/, with some updated screenshots. The diff
is against wine git from May, 26th, 12 am(yep, the site has an older date).
It should apply to much older versions too, but it won't work because a few
crucial patches were applied in

Re: [1.2]StarCraft 2 - Very Slow On Good Computer?
Why is this notable? For one thing(Buy WOW Gold (http://www.zyy.com/)), world PVP is going to be a whole lot of fun in Vashj'ir. It'll be tricky, and you'll need to watch not just your back or what's up top, but also what's below. It's interesting(Buy WOW Gold (http://www.shinywowgold.com/)), too, because I think there's a huge potential for the (RuneScape Gold

Star Trek Armada 2
I tried to install and play Star Trek Armada 2 (DirectX 8.0a) with Wine
0.9.19. No Winetools or so were used. Just plain wine. Installation
worked fine. I just rejected to install DirectX 8.0a.
Starting was without sound, but with movie sequences. Then it stopped.
Any suggestions what to do?

Portal crashes after splash screen.
System: Pentium 4 2.6ghz, 1GB RAM, and 128mb ATI Radeon 9800 graphics card. Ubuntu 8.04, and Wine 1.1.5.
I set up Steam in accordance with the appdb entry, and I installed portal from the DVD retail release. Installation went perfectly.
Problem: After the valve/source logo screens, the mouse appears, the screen goes white, and the main menu music plays. Since there is no menu, it has to be

World of Warcraft 1.5.1
Yesterday's WoW patch[1] introduced a rather annoying bug making it
impossible to select things like NPCs. The problem can be fixed (well,
worked around) in Cedega using the config option "MemoryLayoutOverride"
= "0x10000000". I seem to recall this is an area in which Wine and
Cedega differ quite substantially, unless there's been some more
convergence recently,

[PATCH v2 02/21] drm/armada: Introduce GEM object functions
GEM object functions deprecate several similar callback interfaces in
struct drm_driver. This patch replaces the per-driver callbacks with
per-instance callbacks in armada.

Fwd: Vorbis-java wav-ogg encoder produces distorted OGG file
Hi,
I was really interested in the java version of the same since I wanted to
use it in my java application in a platform independent way.
Anybody who have managed to use the java port to encode wav to ogg, this is
only audio, can assist me to solve my problem. I have been looking at the
code and the svn but no updates seem to be available. Some guidance on what
could be the problem on the source
