asterisk.conf ignored?
Hi all I'm trying to limit the maximum concurrent calls on my Asterisk to try and mitigate another problem I posted about earlier. I've edited /etc/asterisk/asterisk.conf And uncommented this line, and put a value of 60 in there: maxcalls = 60 in an effort to limit my Asterisk to 60 simultaneous calls. I did a core reload in the CLI after doing that.

Fw: syslinux with flash discs?
Johan accidentally wrote me personally with the following email, which I thought would be better intended for the syslinux list. Replies to *Johan* please. :) -d ----- Original Message ----- From: "Johan Win?s" <johan.winas at isg.se> To: <david at weekly.org> Sent: Thursday, January 16, 2003 2:33 AM Subject: syslinux with flash discs? > Hi.. > > Just tried out

I have just acquired an eicon diva server BRI-2M card for using with asterisk and hylafax. Of course i installed it in a new server with Debian Lenny wich has a kernel 2.6.26+ I have downloaded the latest drivers (9.0) from the Eicon web site and i'm having trouble compiling them, specifically the divaTTY driver i need to use with hylafax in the same server. On the icon web site there is a

SIP/IAX peers UNREACHABLE and audio loss
Hi all, I'm having a problem with some Asterisk servers interconnected with each other using IAX (I also tried with SIP without solving the problem) Sometimes, with apparently no reason, some peers become UNREACHABLE (I have qualify=yes in iax.conf) and REACHABLE again as soon as another qualify test is made. Our users are also complaining about audio loss during their calls, apparently

Bestfortress driver, network serial patch for nut-2.0
Best fortress support was understandably dropped, but we still use them, and someone else may want the driver I ported to nut-2.0. We also often attach the serial cable from a UPS to a network terminal server, since servers these days don't come with very many serial ports. (They call them "legacy" ports.) I submitted a patch to support these for nut-1.x, and it was rejected

Asterisk 13.22.0 unstable on Azure Centos 7 & cannot encode .gsm files
Hi all, I'm running a Centos 7 instance in Azure with Asterisk 13. The Centos VM has 24GB of RAM and identifies the CPU as Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2660 0 @ 2.20GHz. This is a virtual copy of a physical Centos 7 machine which has 16GB of RAM and the physical CPU identifies itself as the same in /proc/cpuinfo. I'm running up to 150 to 200 callers without problems on the physical

dimensioning: Where is the CPU vs Asterisk load table
Hi, is there any good calculator/table/reference about proper dimensioning? I read the wiki and they basically say "xx users run fine in yy hardware" http://www.voip-info.org/tiki-index.php?page=Asterisk+dimensioning. SO far I read that: -Run up to 4 E1s per CPU (which one? an i386 or a dual core? -it is very CPU intensive to do transcoding. Try to minimize it. -you can help the CPU

Huge number of small files performance regression from 3.5.16 to 4.6.5 with identical smb.conf
Hello Samba experts, I have just successfully replaced the old default Thecus Samba version 3.5.16 on my Thecus NAS (32-bit Intel Atom, 3 GB RAM, i686 Thecus kernel 2.6.33) by a current Samba 4.6.5 build that I have cross-compiled myself from scratch. Note that so far, I am using the unchanged (i.e. exactly identical) old 3.5.16 smb.conf file for 4.6.5. Everything seems to work fine in

data=journal with large external journals
I have a heavily loaded Apache 2 server which is experiencing what appear to be "write storms". The server is a dual Xeon box with hyperthreading, and appears to linux as a four-cpu box. It has 4GB of physical RAM and is never hitting swap. It's serving a large number of static image files off of four 135GB SCSI drives with external journals on a fifth volume. The journal volume

How many RAM Speex need??
Hi evryone ) My name is Vasily. I am a software developer from Ukrane, and i am going to use Speex on TMS320F28335 DSP-controller wich has only 68KB of RAM. And I worry about this. Asterisk for "Man-In-The-Middle" Trunk Side Call Recording?
[Cross-posted to the asterisk forums, so if it seems familiar...] My company is looking to implement 100% recording of inbound and outbound calls. We're pondering using Asterisk as a trunk-side monitoring system sitting between our Avaya Definity switch and our mixed bag of 6 T1 and PRI circuits. I've read with interest Matt Roth's thread on the Asterisk mailing list, however, since

Currently this machine is being used for calling out to their own people as well other programs being run. anyway they wish to start using it for a 30 person conference bridge. I presume this is no issue??? I am running centos 64 and asterisk 1.4.30 I was thinking they might need to expand the card to a

Asterisk on Zonbu, impact of transcoding
Zonbu.com sells a little box I was planning to use as a router, but I couldn't resist putting Asterisk on it just for fun. It may never see its intended purpose. The box costs US$249 (and was delivered 40 hours after being orderd!), but you can get it for less if you subscribe to their service. I didn't. The box is an Intel compatible processor (VIA Esther processor 1200MHz) with
