Grandstream Busy Light Fields
Hello ! I am having troubles setting up Busy Light Fields (BLF) in asterisk 1.4.18 The things work up to 80%, I can transfer the call by BLF button and I can see the green (free) status and red (busy) status. What I cannot do is to accept the call when someone rings a remote extension. The BLF button starts to blink in red telling me that the call is ringing on remote extenson, but if I press it,

The problem of the ${CALLERID(num)} for the fxo
HI There is a question about the fxo of the zaptel card which is set a number to use as common analog phone. When I use ${CALLERID(num)}to get it's number, it could'n be done. But ${CALLERID(num)} could get the other number of the SIP or IAX . Could you tell me the reason, and how I could get the number of the fxo which is used as a common analog phone? Thanks

ATA phones ring when they register
Hi, I have an 8-port Grandstream GXW-4008 V1.2A ATA converter with analog phones connected to it. They work fine except for just one "feature" I would like to modify. Somehow, each time the ATA re-registers the SIP clients or each time the device has to be rebooted for maintenance, the phones ring once. This feature can be useful as it notifies the user of the re-registration.

mystery process "unit"
Ok, dumb question. On a certain LAMP server I am seeing in 'ps auxf' a process called "unit" with no arguments or other path info. It has a fairly low pid, 3041, indicating it might have been started soon after reboot (last week). but ps says it was started yesterday, I don't see it on any of 3 other CentOS machines. It is hard to google for such a generic name. So does

SECURITY QUESTION & SANITY CHECK
SECURITY QUESTION & SANITY CHECK: If only my SIP ports and a small range of RTP ports are facing the public internet, what is the method by which an evildoer would be able to do fraudulent long distance on my nickel? Would it REALLY be as simple as guessing the credentials for ANY of my local sip endpoints? Like most people, my local endpoint credentials would be easy to guess: Username

OT: RIP settings for private netblocks
I am contemplating converting some of our internal networks from routable to private IPv4 address space. I have a question about RIP as implemented under Cisco IOS 12.x. Presently the setting for rip is: router rip version 2 passive-interface [[FastEthernet]]0/0 network aaa.bbb.ccc.0 no auto-summary What I would like to know is how one routes the entire 192.168/16 address space using rip.

Dial multiple device cancellation
Hi, Can a call to multiple devices be cancelled in all of them at same time? With next dialplan, exten => 100,1,Dial(SIP/101&SIP/102) when a call rings on 101 and 102 and one of them rejects the call "with 486 Busy here", is it possible to reject the call in the other device at same time? I read application dial options but I can't find any that can help me to achieve this

yum-updatesd not working on CentOS 5.2
Dear Srs, yum-updatesd-0.9-2.el5 appears that it's not working on freshly installed CentOS 5.2, using: # rpm -qa "yum*" yum-metadata-parser-1.1.2-2.el5 yum-updatesd-0.9-2.el5 yum-3.2.8-9.el5.centos.2.1 yum-fastestmirror-1.1.10-9.el5.centos I see some bugs ([1], [2] and [3]) in the bug tracker, and more info related to other distros like Fedora, etc.. with the same problem.

Polycom 4.1.6 BLF/URL Dialing
I've just deployed several VVX 600's with the Color Expansion Module. And I'm having a minor issue with them. Intermittently when a call comes into a ring group the user is presented with the call pickup option associated with a BLF entry. Not the normal answer/reject option. I've explicitly disabled the call appearance feature that should allow this pop up:

Anyone know of a pass through ATA
Anyone know of a company that makes a pass through ATA? By pass through I mean have an Ethernet switch built into the ATA, like most desktop phones have. All of the dual ethernet ATA's I have seen have WAN/LAN ports, not two LAN ports. I fooled around with DMZ etc...but it just doesn't work as well. Correct way to change I/O scheduler in a iSCSI dev
Hi, What's the correct way to change configuration parameters for an iSCSI device? For example I/O scheduler, max_sectors_kb, etc... I could add commands to the S99local script: echo noop > /sys/block/sdb/queue/scheduler echo 64 > /sys/block/sdb/queue/max_hw_sectors_kb Unfortunately, iSCSI device names might change from sdb to, say, sdc (server reboot, iSCSI target reconnection).

Fwd: Different behavior of net.ipv4.ip_local_port_range between RHEL-5 and RHEL-6
Forwarding just in case anyone is familiar with this on CentOS, thanks! -- Hello, Just found that net.ipv4.ip_local_port_range has different behavior between RHEL releases: until v6 although you have multiple source IPs you can only use a fixed number of local ports, seems that "ip_local_port_range" is a global configuration or limitation. On RHEL-6 kernel (testing with 2.6.32-279)

Force to strip all symbols from ELFs when using rpmbuild on CentOS
Hello. What's the proper way to remove *all symbols* from ELF binaries when building packages with rpmbuild on CentOS? Seems that an out of the box rpmbuild install only discards debugging symbols (strip -g). That's the default configuration for %__os_install_post on CentOS, the step in charge on stripping binaries: $ rpmbuild --showrc (..) -14: __os_install_post

Best way to take snapshots of iSCSI devices using Open-iSCSI + CentOS
Hi, I want to take snapshots of a iSCSI devices from a target that hasn't snapshot/cloning capabilities (it's a Infortrend A16E storage array). What method are you using to make snapshots/clones of iSCSI targets using Open-iSCSI + CentOS? What about using Open-iSCSI + LVM snapshots system? For example: - Take a LVM snapshot in the initiator with "lvcreate". - Give read-only
