SIP Redirect from Asterisk behind a NAT
SetUp: - Asterisk behind a NAT, - Red Hat 9.0 - Asterisk 1.2.14 My Asterisk box is behind a NAT and I have a DiD from an ITSP. I have my dial plan set up so that when outside callers dial the DiD, the call is answered by my auto-attendant. The caller can then select who they'd like to speak to and the call is transferred to the external line associated with that person (usually a mobile

SIP & IAX behind NAT
I'm trying to set up * server behind NAT. The box is set up as DMZ in my DSL router, i.e. all incoming connections without explicit port mapping are forwarded to *. So far I'm unable to get this setup to work for either IAX or SIP (tried IAXComm & XLite softphones on public IP address). Data seems to come in fine (IAX/SIP debug shows message interaction taking place), but there is no

Creating a SIP gateway for use behind NAT
Hi all, Here is a graphical diagram of what I am trying to do: <SIP> <---> <GW/NAT/*> <--IAX--> <*> <--TDM400P--> <Analog Phone> So I have incoming SIP calls go to the * on the GW, which I then want to forward over IAX to the second * box behind the NAT GW. If I was to place a call on the second * box, it should then forward to the * on the NAT GW

SIP server behind NAT
Hello. I have an Asterisk server (ViciDialNow) set up behind NAT. I can manage to make outbound calls, but the communication drops off after 30 seconds or so. I'd really appreciate having some assistance from the mailing list on this issue. So, I'm having an Asterisk server behind a firewall and Zoiper softphones on SIP connecting to Asterisk on the same local area network. The

SIP + NAT = horrible mess
Hi Guys, After days of fiddling, I can't really get my SIP device to work communicate with Asterisk behind NAT. Sometimes the STUN server is flaky, sometimes the device isn't reachable if the connection is dropped and then put back on, sometimes it registers OK, sometimes it doesn't, etc. I've come to the same conclusion as the wiki: it's probably better to avoid this

Asterisk behind NAT to SIP provider
Hi all, OK. I've tried trawling the archives, but I'm not getting very far. I've got an Asterisk box behind a NAT which I want to register with a SIP provider. In my sip.conf I have (edited to protect the innocent): ----- [general] port = 5060 bindaddr = 0.0.0.0 disallow = all allow = alaw allow = ulaw allow = gsm context = bogus-calls tos = lowdelay nat = yes register =>

SIP client<->NAT<->Asterisk<->NAT<->SIP client. only works with canreinvite=no.
Hi! I have this configuration: SIP client A <-> NAT box A (real external IP) <-> Asterisk server (real IP) <-> (real external IP) NAT box B <-> SIP client B The echo test form any of the clients to the asterisk server is working just fine, even without canreinvite=no. When I try to call from SIP client A to B, wihtout the canreinvite=no in the sip.conf, the call

Asterisk to sip client behind Firewall/NAT - can call but cannot receive calls ?
Hi, I have following setup: BT100 ---- Firewall/nat 1 (www.ipcop.org) ---- Internet ----Firewall/nat2 (Vigor) ---- Asterisk . I'd like to use BT100 as local extension to Asterisk. I've done simple setup and BT100 can call Asterisk and place outgoing calls. However I cannot set him to qualify, cause it is claimed as unreachable. I have port redirection at Firewall 1 (to 5060 and rtp

Does externalip= do anything to help with SIP behind a Linux based NAT router?
I'm just curious if I was to place my * box behind a a FW/NAT box running linux, if my SIP calls will still work. Box right now is a RH9 computer using iptables as the FW. I wouldn't mind placing my * box behind it, but I'm wondering if anyone has actually gotten NAT working with *? Thanks, -- +------------------------------------------+ |Leif Madsen -

Asterisk to sip client behind Firewall/NAT - cancall but cannot receive calls ?
Check your FW-1 tracker and see if any sip packets are dropped during call initiation. I had this problem and it went away when I upgraded the BT's firmware to the latest (16). Beware, though, that people on the list claim that this firmware breaks functionality of the message button and autoanswer. I haven't checked this yet, cause I can't afford to go back a version. I prefer a

IAX2 peer unreachable in one direction - NAT problem?
The situation is one of my asterisk servers is behind a NAT firewall and one is not. Both servers have multiple IAX peers. The NAT firewall has port 4569 mapped through to the asterisk server behind. But, the natted server is almost permanently unreachable from this non-natted server, even though, the non-natted server is almost permanently _reachable_ from the natted server. Details are below

Asterisk to sip client behind Firewall/NAT-cancall but cannot receive calls ?
As far as I can remember I only opened sip and tftp ports for the phone. For some reason (didn't look into it too much) the call stays with sip and doesn't use RTP. The problem you describe (the call doesn't even ring on the other side) is something I had and was solved by upgrading the firmware. Checkpoint's tracker explicitly said what connection attempts were blocked and why.

SIP and NAT problems "imagine that :) "
Hi all, Seriously, I've tried to read everything I could find (& search for) on voip-info.org and other sites about this problem, but have been unsuccesful. Equipment: xten lite X100P Whitebox linux running Asterisk / AMP D-Link DI-804HV (VPN router) I have installed another DI-804HV at a second location and created a tunnel. For the computers behind that unit, everything works fine

SIP & NAT ...
So I thought I had SIP and NAT cracked a long time ago, but something's just happened that's sort of upset the cart )-: I have an * box behind a NAT firewall. Nothing unusual there, this is something I've done many times - sip.conf has the correct nat= localnet= externip= settings, the router has ports 5060-5069 and 10000-20000 forwarded to the internal IP address of the

OT: Multiple SIP phones behind NAT gateway?
Hi, I know this is slightly off topic but I figured the knowlege here is probably the best on the subject.. I want to setup remote offices with 4 to 6 SIP phones (SNOM 200) using ADSL and the internet to connect to the Asterisk box.. These phone will be behind an ADSL router using NAT... I don't want to setup another Asterisk system in each office so IAX is not an option.. I could use

Asterisk, IAX and NAT issue
Hi, I have two Asterisks identically installed on two computers. One of them is directly connected to the Internet, the other one through a NAT router (Netgear MR314). On the one behind the router I have an X100P card installed for PSTN connections. In the local LAN of each PBX they are several hardware IP phones (Cisco 7960 and 7940 with SIP images, firmware image P0S3-04-4-00.bin). I have
