PJSIP ports, multiple IP addresses and wrong owner
Dear list, I am currently trying to send faxes via T.38 using PJSIP (newest version 2.3) with Asterisk 13.0.2. After having configured PJSIP, I have seen several things the cause of which I would like to know. 1) Ports and IP addresses which PJSIP bind to I have configured one transport like that: [tr_wZCMk5MvC2ATNzAr] type = transport protocol = udp bind = 192.168.20.48 Nevertheless, PJSIP

ptime
We have a customer with a system rejecting calls from Asterisk. It's indicating the ptime is 60, but the system admin is saying they only support 20. They are running asterisk 16.2.1 and using chan_sip Is there a way to specify this with chan_sip? Also, for my own curiosity, is there a way to specify this with PJSIP? (Trying to migrate customers to PJSIP, but we are holding until asterisk

PJSIP not performing outbound authentication
I didn't use pjsip_wizard, I'm kind of crafting this by hand as I learn. I actually have a plain asterisk, and a FreePBX, system to help me learn. I sometimes create something in FreePBX to see what it does to the config files. So that's how I modelled my pjsip.X.conf files If I issue the command "pjsip show endpoint Twilio" it does show that outbound_auth=Twilio Does

Making sense of SDP for debugging of missing audio in SIP trunk
I am debugging an intermittent issue of missing audio on calls that come from a SIP provider into our asterisk-11.10 installation. Sometimes, incoming calls from this provider work correctly, with audio streaming in both directions. Other times, with the same setup, the calling party is unable to hear the IVR recording from the asterisk installation, although in fact the streaming is supposed to

Channel variable to identify the calling SIP peer
Hi folks I'm not sure what I am missing but I cannot find a predefined channel variable to identify the SIP peer/user which has initiated a call and established the channel. The one option is to extract it from the CHANNEL variable, but that is fraught with difficulties. Is there another variable I don't know about or another way to do this? Thanks in advance! Asterisk refuses INVITE (401) and I don't know why
Hello list, this is the communication between an Aastra 5000 PBX and Asterisk, where the Aastra makes a call to Asterisk. For some reason, Asterisk responds with 401-Unauthorized and I don't know why. Calls go well with Panasonic PBX, Avaya PBX, Alcatel-Lucent PBX but NOT with this Aastra. A1.A1.A1.A1 = IP-address Asterisk PBX AS.AS.AS.AS = IP-address Aastra PBX Aastra PBX makes a call

PJSIP T.38 issues
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi list, 2 weks ago I asked questions about PJSIP and T.38 but got no replies. I upgraded Asterisk to git as of yesterday (309dd2a), and I'm still having the same issues. In the trace below, I'm sending a fax from Hylafax server through iaxmodem on Asterisk-13 (tiare) to a second Asterisk (11.18.0 t0gw) connected to the PSTN via ISDN; the

I can do alaw, ulaw and gsm; remote can do g729 and alaw; asterisk wants to translate g729 -> alaw. WHY?
I am having a problem with one of my callers who is using either g729 or alaw.  I can do alaw but not g729 so asterisk should negotiate alaw right?  In fact from the sip debug it looks like it does, but then I get the dreaded "channel.c:5630 set_format: Unable to find a codec translation path: (g729) -> (alaw)" and the call hangs up.  Why? Last minute thought: Is it possible that

"clicking" sound with alaw codec
I'm trying to interface Asterisk with an Alcatel PABX and trying to find a code that works well. It says it doesn't support ulaw, though it doesn't reject it. It supports G.729, and that works fine, but we'd prefer not to use compression. When I use alaw, the path from Asterisk to the Alcatel is completely clean, but the other way has a set of clicks that kind of sound like

Cooperate with SIP ITSP
Hi All, When I want use Asterisk as a PBX to cooperate SIP ITSP, I can not set the caller ID, so SIP ITSP do not accept the call. In Asterisk, I set a account in sip.conf to register on ITSP SIP Server: register => 6292@218.1.121.237/6292 And I added a user 6292 in Asterisk just like the account on ITSP SIP Server: [6291] type=friend username=6291 callerid=6291 host=dynamic

Trouble using 2 IAX2 DiDs provided by different ITSPs
Asterisk 1.2.7 Redhat 9 I have DiDs from two different ITSP both set up as IAX2. Each one works when it's the only one in my iax.conf, but when I have them both defined in iax.conf at the same time, only one will work. My iax.conf is provided below. Any ideas how to fix? I'd like to use both DiDs! Thanks, H My iax.conf is below. When I dial the DiD provided by ITSP_B, the other
