Random DTMF tones generated from speech in conversations
Hi, My Asterisk systems runs like a dream with mISDN, SIP and even and old Digium board. But have almost in every conversation some irritating DTMF being generated. The seems to be just as often from all trunks but are worse if noise load speaker in other end. Any good advices? Where to look for forgotten DTMF detection settings? Thank you! HB

Random DTMF tones generated from speech
Thank you, very interesting! As I understand the Digium card is used as a interrupt source for Asterisk? Is there a diagnostic tool available ? Anybody else experienced a simmialr problem? Thank you! Door Contacts via Asterisk?
Hi all, I have had (what I consider) an odd request. The installation I'm working on now is an office on a multi-floor building. They 're looking for some kind of solution with the phone system to provide door control. We are a non-profit so of course I'm looking for something VERY inexpensive. I'm sure /someone/ has done something like this. I'd appreciate any ideas. Cassius

Uniden UIP200 Review
Hello Everyone, My company is about to deploy * as replacement for our existing commercial Altigen PBX. Meanwhile, I've been trying to find the best cost effective SIP VoIP phone which we can use in office for 20-30 employees, as well as a few remote staff. Normally I wouldn't post about a VoIP phone, however, this phone was released less than a week so I thought I'd give some

Asterisk as a Condo door opener/intercom
Hi Everyone, Looking to replace a condo intercom system. Apparently the current one taps into the lines and dials phone numbers but needs to be changed as it's faulty. I will probably still use the same analogue dialing and back it up with a VoIP line and use the current cabling that is in place. But as for as the door opening function goes, I am not sure how to interface and how open these

Asterisk room monitor
I want to use a voip speaker phone as a room monitor. Requirements: A phone that I can set to auto answer in speaker mode. A phone with a good speaker phone. Ability to make the audio one way. I want to monitor the room but not have my voice heard in the room. Yes, the mute button can accomplish this also. I have been using the SPA942's around the house (the speaker is just ok but

Virbiage FT201 IAX Hard Phone
Does anyone have any recent news on the Virbiage FT201 IAX Hardphone? I'd *really really* like to deploy these phones instead of SIP hardphones, and I can't help but wonder if I'm going to shoot myself in the foot (or another sensitive area) by deploying a ton of SIP phones just to find the IAX Hardphones were released a week later... Thanks, Brian D'Arcy

Results of MCD estimators in MASS and rrcov
Hi! I tested two different implementations of the robust MCD estimator: cov.mcd from the MASS package and covMcd from the rrcov package. Tests were done on the hbk dataset included in the rrcov package. Unfortunately I get quite differing results -- so the question is whether this differences are justified or an error on my side or a bug? Here is, what I did: > require(MASS) >

Interesting catalog: Viking Electronics
This is not specifically Asterisk-related, but I think that sometimes a "pre-emptive" clue is a good thing. Viking Electronics (http://www.vikingelectronics.com/) has some neat widgets that attach to phone lines, which I'm sure many of the people on this list would find at least somewhat useful in conjunction with their Asterisk systems. Many of the widgets can be replaced with

Fwd: Re: Asterisk as a Condo door opener/intercom
Asterisk as a phone system makes perfect sense in a condo. You can get all the DID's you want and eliminate costs for the owners. You can offer standard FXO for people who don't care and IP sets for people who want to "upgrade" to feature sets. Your door openner is a piece of cake. 1. Create an option in your dialplan only in the "from-access-door" context that reads

R code for "Statistical Models in S" ?
I just acquired a copy of "Statistical Models in S", I guess most commonly known as the "white book", and realized to my dismay that most of the code is not directly executable in R, and I was wondering if there was a source discussing the things that are different and what the new ways of calling things are. For instance, the first obstacle was the solder.balance data

Overhead Paging Systems...
Hey all, I know you all saw the topic and let out a groan. However, I understand how to get an overhead paging system to work with respect *, however I am now looking for a small(?) paging amp, that I could hook 3 or 4 horns to. I would like to just have the * extention be routed to a soundcard and out an output, so I would like an amp that is voice signal activated. Has anyone found anything

''dependencies'' and RedCloth
Hey gang. Jed noticed an issue with the ''dependency''/''dependencies'' macro the other day when working on the Collective wiki. Namely, if you make RedCloth a dependency Merb gets a little cranky. I think I have this figured out when doing some mods to Collective today too. However, before I go trying to fix this in Merb, I wanted to run this by the community.

Conflict with openwatcom (wrc)
Whoops. Sorry about that. I wasn't supposed to actually have that as a reply, it was meant to be another top-level post. To summarise, wrc in the Mandriva wine-1.1.0 RPM available from Sourceforge conflicts with the name of "wrc" in openwatcom, which is also a Win32 resource compiler. Cheers, The Viking, Flying Brick Systems.
