Stats/Metrics in 2.3
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA512 Greetings, So the changes to the stats modules between v2.2 and v2.3 have broken some of my monitoring. I am attempting to use the new method of gathering "metrics" from "events" - but the details in the documentation are a bit thin. I started with the examples provided at https://wiki2.dovecot.org/Statistics and tried to

Authentication Problem
You've made this more difficult to understand, even :-) So the answer is: Set the following in 10-auth.conf 1. disable_plaintext_auth = no 2. auth_mechanisms = plain And yes, the encrypted passwords are stored in MySQL. Issue with trying to dial two different servers at the same time.
Okay, so my issue isn't really a technical one but more of needing advice on the best way to program this. I have a user in Colorado who works from home but frequents our office in Colorado. All of our remote users connect to a server in Dallas the users at the HQ in Colorado connect to a separate server in the Colorado office that is on the private network. I have an IAX trunk between the

regarding ssl certificates
Excuse dopey question. I'm not exactly clear about certificates. Apache2 default install has this snake oil certificate Can make a new one for apache Can make one for dovecot Can make one for ssl Is there supposed to be the one (self signed ) certificate pair in one place for the machine that each process hands out ? Can they be moved to another machine ? mick -- Key ID C7D6E24C

In my dovecot-sql.conf.ext, I have: default_pass_scheme = CRYPT In 10-auth.conf, I have: auth_mechanisms = plain login digest-md5 M$ Outlook is refusing to authenticate, with error: Requested DIGEST-MD5 scheme, but we have only CRYPT What an I missing?? I hate it that this has taken me round in circles :-) -- Best regards, Odhiambo WASHINGTON,

Asterisk Interface with mobile phone
Hi: I live in a country where calls from landline phone to a mobile phones is more expensive than mobile to mobile. I have FXO card connected to the landline. All the calls from IAX goes through this interface to the pstn and mobile phones. I want to save money by transfering mobile calls through a mobile phone. Is there some interface between the FXO card and the mobile phone so asterisk can

G729 , upgrade asterisk
I'm planning to upgrade my asterisk 1.4.4 to 1.4.6. usually for asterisk upgrade i delete modules directory and include, then compile the new version. Since i have couple of G729 Licenses on this server installed, would i need to call Digium to reactivate these Licenses? Is there any better and faster way of upgrade asterisk? Possibly without losing G729 License? Thanks!

LDAP auth problems "unknown user"
Hi, I am setting up a dovecot instance to host a bunch of virtual domains, with ldap backing for auth. I am using a single hostname for test purposes, with a couple of entries in the diectory. If I use auth binds I get a result, but this does not suit the end purpose of the server. If I use ldapsearch with the same base, search filter, and credentials as the ldap auth config I get the correct

Problem with busydetect and cell phones
I have a very strange problem I'm hoping someone has encountered already. I've scoured the internet for an answer to this one. My phone company provides no disconnect supervision. Hence I'm forced to use the busydetect feature. I have a TDM400 with two FXO ports. If I call from an internal extension to a landline and then hangup the landline Asterisk detects the busy signal

Good. I am going to focus on the IMAP configuration and worry about SMTP later. The following is the relevant documentation. This is very straightforward: https://doc.dovecot.org/admin_manual/ssl/dovecot_configuration/ My file 10-ssl.conf is untouched. However, this is the part that I would like to better understand: https://doc.dovecot.org/admin_manual/ssl/certificate_creation/ Before

LiveVoip DTMF Issues
I have a couple of DID's with LiveVoip and am having major DTMF issues on incoming calls. I am connecting to them through IAX using ULAW. When someone dials one of these DD's (from a landline) they are for the most part unable to navigate the IVR menu successfuly. I would say the failure rate is greater than 80%. For example if the caller presses 5 sometimes * will see the DTMF as 55 or

SPA-962 & Asterisk
Good Day, I have been tasked with fixing the time on our asterisk server. I am having a hard time finding documentation to tell my what asterisk uses to get its time information to push to phones (or a better question, where does the SPA-962 get its time information)? Basically, I can go under the settings of the phone and change the offset to set the correct hour, but it is still about 4
