Wine Setup
I am a complete newbie to Wine. I am aware of the wonderful things OTHER people can get it to do as far as running MS apps, but I have never had such sucess. The last attempt to run "winesetup" as root was met with the following: debian:/home/tilleyrw# whoami root debian:/home/tilleyrw# winesetup Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server Xlib: Client is not authorized

codeweavers-wine:itcl problem
codeweavers-wine-20010112-1 hung during install (rpm) at the creation of KDE/Gnome menus; since I don't use either, I thought, no prob and ran winesetup from Blackbox. I skipped re-making the links on starting winesetup and went right for the configuration. which also failed. This is the message it generated: Error: Invoking 'wish Main.itcl' in /opt/wine/bin/winesetuptk

winesetup
Hello! I have just compiled and installed wine-2001-07-31 (from tar.gzipped source) and it works fine. But I cannot find the winesetup programm which makes setup much more comfortable. I am new to wine; I've used rpm-package on a different system where winesetup was automatically installed. Is winesetup not part of wine-2001-07-31? Or do I have it and just did not install it? Where can

Wine install/execution problems
I'm trying to get a version of Wine working. I don't really care which version, just one that works. From reading I was under the impression that Wine was able to work with a lot of different Windows programs, but so far none that I have tried have worked. Most fail to install, and judging from the error messages I get I'm hoping it's a configuration problem. I am currently

Problem: "Please use registry key HKEY .."
I was able to run a very simple program (Mike Lawrence's Counting At Bridge) with wine although I got symbols for books rather than Spades, Hearts, etc. It no longer works. Wine brings up a blank window with usual File Book Options Help banner. The only choice for File is exit and, if this is chosen, the window closes and wine reports exited with favorable status. After this exit the

Download and installation of the 7.2 version appears to go fine - until i give the command wine -v I do understand there is not a config file with the distribution. However when i start wine -v and take the option to setup config it fails twith a message can't find package Itcl and also says the config file does not exist.

Damn itcl to hell.
Hi, Sorry to bug people with this what must be a very trivial question. I've got a Mandrake 8.0 installation and have been trying in vain to get CodeWeavers Wine (preview #3) installed. I've downloaded and installed the 'blessed' version of itcl from the CodeWeaver's website (itcl-8.3.2-7mdk.i586.rpm) and am still getting the itcl not found error when I try to run winesetup.

Problem Starting Wine
I have a Debian testing box with a 2.4.26 kernel. I used apt-get to install wine, wine-doc and winesetup. Setup detected all the drives and paths on my system but when I tried to run a program with the command wine g:\\bridge\\mike (Mike Lawrence's Counting at Bridge - a very elementary program, might even work with DOS) I get the messages Warning: The specified

First time run errors, winesetup?
I compiled the latest release of wine, without any problems, on Red Hat, 7.2 When I run wine, it says I dont have a .wine config file, in my user directory. I ran winelauncher, and clicked setup, and it says it cant find 'winesetup', which it needs to write the config file for the first time run. winesetup isnt in the release (or any I have seen), if they has been taken out, how do I

Wine
I am running linux (FC2) & win XP and believe that you can't configure Wine for an NT installation, however, I am of the understanding that I do not need a licensed and installed copy of DOS or MS Windows to install, configure and run Wine. Given the fact that I do NOT have a DOS partition, where do I incorporate the following script in order to successfully run Wine. [Drive C]

Wine Config
I've just compiled Wine using the transgaming patch and now need to setup the config files and just wondering if there are any nice and easy programs to set this up for me! I've tryed 'WineSetupTK' but I always run my machine as root and this does not allow you to edit the root config files! So my question is Are there any other wine config setup programs? Thanks
