20020710 & winetest
Last 3 wines are failed to compile on various reasons.
(If I remember correctly: 20020411 compiles;
20020509, 20020605, 20020710 does not.)

Win95 won't work with Samba 2.0.2
Hmmm... I've sent a couple of questions to the list recently, with
no responses. Are my messages getting out?
Since upgrading to 2.0.2, our Win95 boxes are having problems
accessing shares. WinNT works perfectly. Win95 worked fine
with 1.whatever, but now it can only see files that are actually in
the share directory. It can see subdirectories of the share, but
they appear as empty

Vulnerability in Elm-ME+
Hello,
I have confirmed that the recently-reported vulnerability in Elm is also
present in Elm-ME+ and thus also in Debian GNU/Linux version 1.2, prerelease
version 1.3, and development tree "unstable".
Below is a short diff to correct the problem.
Debian GNU/Linux 1.2.x uses stock Elm 2.4pl25. Users of that version of Elm
should upgrade to Elm-ME+ as detailed below.

How to set up spooling for a HP JetDirect interface?
I've set up Samba and LPRng for HP printers with
JetDirect cards. It works for one user at a
time. But if the printer is off-line or busy, the
samba client does not get an error message, but
the job gets lost. :( I would like the print
jobs to be spooled on Linux even when there is an
active print job or when the printer is off-line.
Unfortunately I'm not familiar with lpd.

Java in Firefox
I installed Java 1.6 update 5 and Firefox. Firefox works "okay", and some elements like Flash objects (videos on youtube and cartoons on AlbinoBlackSheep to name some examples) work a bit faster than they do on the native linux version of Firefox, so I wanted to try Java. My test subject was RuneScape.
Well, after installing Java I set "java.exe" and "javaws.exe" to

Problems patching fs/jbd/checkpoint.c in RHEL4 2.6.9-67.0.4 kernel
My manual patching of the rejects in checkpoint.c didn''t work out; a
delete of 10,000 files caused a panic (in any ext fs, not just
Lustre).
In the new checkpoint.c, two routines expected by the patch no longer
exist: __cleanup_transaction and __flush_buffer.
I can avoid the panic if I omit (don''t try to manually patch) the following:

secureCRT 3.3 -> openssh v3.7pl (checkpoint firewall)
Client - secureCRT 3.3 outside the firewall (Checkpoint)
Server - openssh v3.7 on an aix51 rs6k inside the fw
The firewall lets in the first packet but blocks the second with the
message: ssh 1.x not allowed. The connection gets reset. Here is the

how to change checkpoint interval
Hi guys,
In my research, I want to change checkpoint interval during remus running.
I think that the checkpoint_settimer function (declared in libcheckpoint.c)
can do that I need.
But I would like to call a checkpoint_settimer in xc_domain_save.c. Then I
created a checkpoint_settimer*2* into xc_domain_save.c and this doesn''t
work coz probably the timer_settime function there.
Then I

centos6 "system checkpoint"
Hello
###
http://www.redhat.com/archives/libvir-list/2012-July/msg00782.htm
"it almost sounds like you want the convenience of a
system checkpoint (the ability to revert to a guest with its RAM state
unchanged, which is much faster than booting from just disk state)."

I am trying to figure out if it is possible to take a snapshot or "system checkpoint" for a VM running

Checkpoint log analyzer / network analysis tools
All,
I'm looking for tools available for linux that will allow us to do two
things:
1) Analyze our Checkpoint Firewall-1 NG log files and provide reports /
graphs / pretty management pictures.
2) Analyze our network traffic (Cisco routers and HP switches) and
provide reports / graphs / pretty management pictures.
I've implemented ntop, which is pretty cool, and I'm looking at

Linux client for Checkpoint VPN?
Hello all,
Does anybody know if there is a modern Linux client compatible with the
latest versions of Checkpoint VPN ( http://www.checkpoint.com/ )? They used
to have a Linux client back in the day but that seems to have been
discontinued.
Is anybody able to connect to a Checkpoint VPN server from their Linux
machine? If so please share the trick.
Thanks.
Boris.

checkpoint into Ices2
Hello,
I'd like to extend Ices2 in order to make it capable of managing
checkpoints.
My assignment is to write a high-availability streaming server using
OpenAIS. I decided to use Icecast and Ices.
Ices should periodically save relevant information to a checkpoint, so
that when it crashes and then restarts, it can continue to provide the
stream from the point it left off, based on the

DMTCP: checkpoint-restart for R
Hello,
I hope we have the right mailing list. We are two of a team of
developers for DMTCP (transparent checkpoint-restart). It runs under
Linux, and is free software (LGPLv3+), found at:
http://dmtcp.sourceforge.net
In our latest release, version 1.2.3, we have done some simple
testing on R, and find that we can successfully checkpoint and restart.
Its usage can be as simple as:
