Printer Driver Download Problem - PPD's Not DL'ing
Hey All, just a quick question about printer upload/download stuff
that's been confusing the hell out of me for a couple days...
This might be a Samba, or a CUPS problem, so i've posted this on both
newsgroups, but if anyone's had a similar problem I'd really appreciate
any help!
I'm running Samba 2.2.7 and CUPS 1.1.17 on a RedHat 7.3 System.. I'm
trying to get the

Installing R-1.1.0 (PR#612)
Dear R-developers,
I finally got around to install R 1.1.0 but had problems at the `make
check' stage.
After compiling the released R 1.1.0 version the `make check' stage
stopped while checking the examples in base. There was some problem
with the quantile function and the check stopped complaining that NA's
are not allowed.
But I assume that this problem is already known because

Question about replacing the web interface with an audio stream
I have had a bunch of issues getting reverse proxy running with apache
properly, the main issue is with YP listings and having icecast list the
revproxy mount at port 80 rather than the icecast one at port 8000.
Unfortunately, I /need/ some sort of http server on port 80 - and I know
apache the best.
That being said, if you know the mounts you want to reverse proxy, its
not an arduous exercise

Moran I for very large data set
Hi
Are there any more efficient ways of calculating the neighbourhood object for large datasets?
I am trying to compute Moran I statistics for a very large data set (over 14,000 points). I have been using moran.test from the spdep package and everything works fine for a small data set (200 points). However, applying the same script to the whole dataset is taking days to compute (it so far has

question on nortel CS 1000 PBX and PRI connection to built in PA system
Hi,
I have asterisk running a single T1 card with a connection to a nortel
CS 1000.
All calls to extensions, local and long distance are working just fine.
My issue is this: The nortel CS 1000 supports connections to and
intercom system
that is just line level audio to speakers.
When my PRI tries to call this "extension" it is never answered so my
AGI never runs

Samba not listening on 127.0.0.1... hua???
<rant>Every time I set up a new test Samba server, the step to "net rpc rights grant..." ALWAYS fights me tooth and nail... ALWAYS with a different error message. I've even created little scripts to
run so I am not typing commands incorrectly... but NNNOOOOOO, the script to grand rights to one stink'n account always has to complain!</rant>
OK, this time it is...

Question about replacing the web interface with an audio stream
Okay, but you’d have to be able/willing to employ a dedicated IP to that, plus run Icecast as root.
What are the negative technical implications of running icecast on port 8000 (suitable for most users) and then running a reverse proxy to accommodate public wifi with port restrictions?

winspool.drv problem
I'm a new WINE user and I've got a problem, and I've already googled
for an answer.
The problem is that when I invoke WINE I get an error message:
err:module:PE_fixup_imports Module (file) WINSPOOL.DRV (which is
needed by X:\_ISTMP3.DIR\_INS5576._MP) not found
My steps:
1) use dselect to download Wine 20030115
2) use dselect to download winesetuptk
3) run winesetuptk

Debian way of compiling zaptel kernel modules
I ran "apt-get -b source zaptel-source" to download and compile the zaptel
source.
It successfully compiles and builds the following packages:
libtonezone-dev_1.0.2-2_i386.deb
libtonezone1_1.0.2-2_i386.deb
zaptel-source_1.0.2-2_all.deb
zaptel_1.0.2-2_i386.deb
None of them contain the kernel modules.
Is there a way I can get it to compile the kernel modules?
Thanks,
Geoff

SMP + Compaq 2DH Array Controller cause freeze in boot
Good day all,
I've recently added a new piece of hardware to my collection - it's a
Compaq Proliant 1600R with a Smart Array 2DH controller and dual
processors. Unfortunately these features don't seem to play well
together.
Installing FreeBSD 4.8 was very smooth. After doing a CVSup, one of my
first tasks was to compile a new kernel with SMP support. The compile
went fine, but when I

predict () for LDA and GLM
Hi!
I'm using GLM, LDA and NaiveBayes for binomial classification. My training
set is 70 rows long with 32 features, and my test set is 30 rows long with
32 features.
Using Naive Bayes, I can train a model, and then predict the test set with
it like so:
ass4q1.dLDA = lda(ass4q1.trainSet[,1]~ass4q1.trainSet[,2:3])
table(predict(ass4q1.dNB, ass4q1.testSetDF[,2:3]), ass4q1.testSetDF[,1])

As you migth remember, I got the error "failure of status 127" as on last June

At that time the remedy was:
#apt-get remove libwine
followed by
#apt-get install libwine
Now I prefer aptitude or dselect, so that yesterday

Can't start R in Debian Woody
Hi,
I know this is not a problem comming from R, but maybe you can still help me.
I installed R 1.4.1 on Debian Woody, but I can't start it.
I get this message:
~$ R

Any thoughts?
