7970 CTLFile.tlv?
I've got a Cisco 7970 that's not completing its network registration to Asterisk. The "Registering" message stays on the screen (with the moving time wheel). After a few minutes, the onscreen message flashes "Updating CTL" then "Loading...", then the status messages update with: No valid CAPF server File Not Found: CTLFile.tlv No CTL installed

tftp-hpa 0.28, 0.29 interoperability problem
Hi, I have a tftp client which loads quite happily from a tftpd built from netkit-tftp-0.16 but which fails to load from from a tftpd built from tftp-hpa 0.29. In both cases, tftpd was built from pristine sources and run from xinetd under Redhat 7.3. [netkit-tftp-0.16 is the ancestor of tftp-hpa, predating HPA's maintenance of same] [the tftp client also.. .. fails with the prebuilt tftpd

"Secure" tftpd source for Linux?
I''ve been poking around my system, and realized that having a tftp server would be handy. (I''m working with cisco routers, which have the capability to up and download configuration images via tftp.) However, I''m not content with the usual tftpd that comes with Linux. The whole "specify each directory you want" scheme is cock-eyed to me. I''d prefer

cisco 7960 CTLSEP
2 new Cisco 7960 phones are requesting a CTLSEP file, seems like I triggered the universal application loader. Cisco 7941G-GE with Asterisk and CTPSEP odyssee
I have just got a Cisco 7941G and am experiencing the exact same problem (phone is requesting .tlv file from TFTP server and never asks for .cnf.xml file). The phone originally had SCCP on it, but I downloaded and flashed with the latest Cisco SIP image (8.4(3) released 2009-01-13). In reading your message below, it looks like you were going to try an incremental upgrade?did you have any

dos-attack on inetd.
Hi. I don''t know if this one is known, but I can''t recall seeing anything about it. If it is old news I apologize. I discovered a bug in the inetd that comes with NetKit-B-0-08 and older. If a single SYN is sent to port 13 of the server, inetd will die of Broken Pipe: write(3, "Sun Jan 12 21:50:35 1997\r\n", 26) = -1 EPIPE (Broken pipe) --- SIGPIPE (Broken pipe) ---

Cisco SSCP to SIP
Hi all, I'm trying to convers some Cisco SSCP phones to the SIP formware. The phone boots, I see it tries to fetch a bunch of files on my TFTP: Jun 17 09:37:45 firewall dnsmasq-dhcp[21202]: DHCPACK(eth2) 192.168.10.103 6c:50:4d:da:f0:67 SEP6C504DDAF067 Jun 17 09:38:10 firewall in.tftpd[22666]: RRQ from 192.168.10.103 filename CTLSEP6C504DDAF067.tlv Jun 17 09:38:10 firewall in.tftpd[22666]:

cisco 7970 sccp
Does anyone have the 7970 work with sccp? I have used the example configurations from the wiki. I can see that the phone is failing to retrieve the CTLSEP<MAC>.tlv file and then is able to retrieve the SEP<MAC>.cnf.xml file. The phone is hanging with the message "updating ctl". Thanks, John SEP<MAC>.cnf.xml: <device> <devicePool>

One is 64bit and almost 90MB and the 32bit is 85MB. I know that some tftpd

Can TFTPD run in a chroot jail?
Hi, I've been struggling with this problem for the last couple of hours and am nowhere near solving the problem. I am trying to run a tftp server in a chroot jail. Now perhaps I am being paranoid, but I would like to have it launched from within its own jail even if it supposedly does a chroot itself and runs with a parameterizable user. I downloaded the atftp-server package and tried

atftpd versus tftpd-hpa
It seems that tftpd-hpa is more suitable at serving arbitrarily large files (greater than 65535 blocks long; with pxelinux.0 using a default block size of 1408 this is 92,273,280 bytes) as atftpd will complain in the log stating "Requested file to big, increase BLKSIZE". I saw that a while back HPA mentioned that atftpd was probably more scalable (number of clients) while tftpd-hpa is

PXE boot hangs after trying to load cfg/<max address>
Hi, i'm trying to get my VIA Epia with VIA Rhine ethernet device to boot PXELinux. I have done this before, but now i can't get it to work. The machine loads pxelinux.0, i see some messages. But it fails just after trying reading the first config file (the one with the mac address). It kinda says this (transcribed): CLIENT IP: 192.168.1.23 MASK: 255.255.255.0 DHCP IP: 192.168.1.93

cisco ip phne 7911G with asterisk
hi, I'm trying to configure a Cisco IP Phone 7911G in order to work with Asterisk. I have loaded the 8.3.3 SIP Firmware of Cisco through a DHCP and a TFTP server. All seems ok but a file that is downloaded : term06.default.loads (I understand that is for 7906 model) instead of term11.default.loads (I understand that is for 7911 model). In any case the phone reboots well. At this moment I

Dial Delay
I've dug through the documentation, and I must have just glanced over this, but how do I set this system up so it executes the call when 4 digits have been entered. Currently it seems to be operating on a timeout system. Cisco 7940's Right now if I press the digits 6000 the phone waits like 8 seconds before going forward. (If I press dial it is immediate). Anybody? -C
