Porting a Win32 application using Winelib...
Hello, I'm currently trying to use Winelib to port a fairly big windows application to Linux. The application consists of quite a lot of DLLs, some of which don't depend on the Win32 API (they can be compiled with gcc). I think I read all available documentation, but I still have a few questions: - is it possible to link a linux binary with "linux" shared libs and

Winelib Getting Started 1.3.2. Test Drive
Hello, Would a wine developer please revisit this page http://www.winehq.org/site/docs/winelib-guide/winelib-getting-started and modify it to have a step by step guide to take a Linux box without wine nor winelib to a running notepad exe built by the newbie (and not downloaded)? Or if you are a wine-user, please provide such steps to this list. As a newbie, the statement "It can be found

Porting with winelib - undefined reference to `WinMain'
Hello! I'm trying to port zCPU emulator (http://www.wiremod.com/forum/cpu-tutorials-programs/2956-zcpu-emulator.html) to Linux with winelib. This app is mainly console, but can draw some stuff using SDL. The problem is: compiles fine but when linking I get Code: /usr/lib/wine/libwinecrt0.a(exe_main.o): In function `main': exe_main.c:(.text+0x9d): undefined reference to `WinMain'

WineLib Linker Error?
I am doing some testing with WineLib and the 20010731 release and am having some trouble with the final linkage. I have a very simple test.cpp file and the following spec file: name test mode guiexe type win32 import shell32.dll import comdlg32.dll import user32.dll import gdi32.dll import kernel32.dll import ntdll.dll and a hand crafted make file. When I run the make I get the

Problems building dlls for use with winelib
Hi, I am currently having trouble building the DLLs of an application ported from Win32 to Winelib - compiling, thanks to some hints from Dimi O. Paun, now works fine, only(?) the final linking step fails. Since Winelib-documentation is unfortunately pretty outdated, I tried to orientate myself on the makefiles of the Winelib dlls in the cvs /wine/dlls/ directory. I tried the following

Winelib: How can I compile a Borland C++ Builder application on Linux using winelib?
Hi! I'm new to winelib. I'm trying to port a Borland C++ Builder 6.0 application, but I need VCL library: vcl.h. Any ideas?? I would want to make it run natively on Linux. The code is as follows: //--------------------------------------------------------------------------- #include <vcl.h> #pragma hdrstop USEFORM("textS.cpp", TextStuff); USEFORM("aboutS.cpp",

Using winemaker / building wine DLLs
Hi. I'm not sure if this is the correct place for this question, or if the wine-devel list is more appropriate; please let me know if I should ask over there. I'm trying to build, using winemaker/winegcc/etc, a DLL for use with a Windows binary. This is a somewhat unusual case, in that this library is actually explicitly being written for a Windows binary that will run in Linux (I'm

Wine-20040505 and vstserver
Hi list, I'm currently trying to get an app running called "vstserver" on Fedora Core 3. I have installed wine-20040505 and wine-devel-20040505, and installed those older versions, cause it is recommended not to use the newest wine version in the README. I have found that most vstserver-users had good experiences with version 20040505 of wine. I have tried others too, i always get

dll wrapper strategy help
I hope this is right list for this question but here is my requirement.. Develop a new Unix shared library (I'll settle for an application if it is easier) which makes calls to a vendor supplied windows DLL. On first examination it looks like winelib is the way to go, but I'm having trouble dissecting the documentation from whole windows application porting to just what I need.

Hello I'm trying to follow the instructions on http://www.winehq.org/site/docs/winelib-guide/spec-file, but the "-spec" option is apparently no longer supported by winebuild?? My .spec file is called "device.spec" and contains one item: init WinMain I've tried to get winebuild to accept this file in a number of ways and the farthest I've got is with this:

winelib runs but wine ok.... Why??
Hi all, I have a small program (~10k lines) that just uses elementry API (like SendMessage). It compiles under Borland C++ Builder 5.5.1 (for win exe) and under g++ with winlib. The problem is that the Builder EXE runs perfectly with WINE __BUT__ the library built with winlib does not run - spits out a segmentation faul @ line 400 (whatever that means) and some Error 139 with nothing else.
