Sending audio to a channel
I have a voicemail application that users can listen to messages and leave messages. I am looking for a way to play a beep tone to a user when a new message is received when they are on the phone. Scratching my head and trying this. Asterisk Version: Asterisk 1.4.21.2 Tried: exten => 4771,1,ExtenSpy(4724 at mbb) exten => 4771,2,Hangup Also tried: exten => 4771,1,Answer exten => 4771,2,ExtenSpy(4724 at mbb) exten => 4771,3,Hangup Also tried many variations including option ,b I think most calls I make are 'bridged' extensions 4771 and 4724 are both in mbb context.

Why is PQMSTATUS empty?
Hey all! I'm trying to do a bit of logic here so that a user only has to dial one code to pause/unpause in a queue (e.g. *0 will (un)pause depending on the users's state). ExtenSpy Problem
Hi I'm trying to get ExtenSpy to work but it wont, I'm dialling a number from my mobile which comes into our server and answering the number on a particular SIP extension which all works fine. ChanSpy on 1.6.2.20
Hi, I just realized my ChanSpy did not work anymore. I had 1.6.2.18, tried going to 1.6.2.20, I only get silence. 1.4.38 passing a Regular expression containing a pipe character to a macro ?

Stopping chanspy followup
I am still trying to figure out a reasonable way to exit the chanspy application in a dialplan. For the most part I understand how things are working and there is one change I would like to propose. The way the 1.4.23.1 code seems to work is that if there are no channels that match the chanprefix argument the chanspy code stays in a loop waiting for a new channel to come into being that matches

How can i activate "ChanSpy" to spy on a dedicated extension? I see the following in "/etc/asterisk/extensions_additional.conf" [chanspy] include => chanspy-custom exten => 501**,1,Chanspy(801) exten => 501**,n,Hangup exten => 502**,1,Chanspy(802) exten => 502**,n,Hangup But when i try to call "501**", it doesn't give any response. Anyone know why chanspy was not included in asterisk distribution as of October. ? I tried patching my current 1.0 but seems the patches are for an older version. I posted a bounty of $250 to get this to work with the newest stable. Needs be able to monitor bridged sip calls with or without a monitoring beep. Thanks John Bittner Simlab.net
