when media player classic is usually bundled in vary codec packs which
are widely used by most of the windows user that insode code pack, so
it would be nice if icecast support it instead of just fixing media
player classic. and btw it looks like media player classic is not
maintained anymore, except there is a mpc-hc
the problem is that MPC/MPC-HC is too strict that it require the

What I'm trying to get at here is that I'm trying to get Media Player Classic to work when using Wine. MPC is installed and when I click it under Wine, the player comes up but I can't play anything. alt.Binz can't connect multiple threads
I'm running Ubuntu 8.04.1 Hardy Heron, and Wine 1.0.
I've installed the usenet binaries downloader alt.Binz 0.25.0, which the AppDB says works flawlessly for most people, as does everything I can find online about running it in wine, including the alt.Binz homepage.
It installed without a problem, and starts up and runs with only minimal visual issues. By every observation it seems to

build problems with classic Mac
Hi,
I am trying to build libogg and libvorbis for classic Mac, in my case
MacOS 9.1, and having a few problems.
First I downloaded from the download page ( /ogg/vorbis/download) the zip
files for r1.0rc3:
libogg-1.0rc3.zip
and
libvorbis-1.0rc3.zip
However, there were no Mac CW project files, and I knew they existed as
one of the doc files (README??) mentioned them.
So, I then used cvs to

Ogg support in Windows Media Player 9 and WMP Media Library
Greetings all,
I've got some questions and news (I think) regarding the Ogg
DirectShow filter, and Ogg support in Windows Media Player
and the WMP Media Library.
The OggDS that's in CVS -- is there any reason it's only
at the 0.9.9.3 level and not the 0.9.9.5 level that's on
Tobias's webpage?

How do I change the default media player from Totem to <anything-else>?
On CentOS 5.1 (and before), the default player for CD and DVD media is
Totem, despite the fact (?) that it doesn't handle a whole bunch of media
very well (i.e., can't play them at all) by default.
Unfortunately, this is not one of the preferred applications controllable
from that applet (it only does browser, email and terminal emulator.
I'd like to change what plays the CDs and

Hi,
I have been struggling with streaming ogg vorbis audio to windows
media player for a couple of days now with no success. I would really
appreciate if someone could provide more insight into this. Please do
let me know if there is any other mailing list which would be

However this issue could not be resolved.

Windows Media Player MP3 Problem
Hi,
I am trying to play MP3 files using Windows Media Player 6.4. Video files,
even DivX, are OK. But although I can hear the music, it skips a lot. I see
Dsound buffer under run errors. I think I can overcome this by modifying a
numerical value somewhere. Do you have any idea ? I get the same error
also for other type of sound formats too.
Thanks

anybody got Windows Media Player doing streaming?
I can get Windows Media Player (whatever version came with Windows 98 SE) to run
and play local files just fine, but it won't play streaming files from the net.
Has anyone figured out how to do this yet?
