RedFone foneBRIDGE2 2e1 - anyone used it or another TDMoE bridge?
I've been asked to look at deploying Asterisk in a high availability
environment and I've been looking so I've been searching for methods to
decouple the voice PRI circuits from the Asterisk server so failover to
another server could take place.
I've been looking at the RedFone foneBRIDGE2 2e1 product here:

Poor man's High Availability solution
Hi,
I'm wondering what the best option to obtain a high availability
asterisk server is.
I currently use a TE410P (4 x E1) card.
I'm thinking of 2 different solutions:
- 2 servers configured with Heartbeat + DRBD (drbd mainly for
voicemail....) and the E1 span plugged to the 2 servers (with a TE410P
in each server).
- 2 servers configures with Heartbeat + DRBD with the E1 span hooked

Redfone FoneBridge2 Quad T1/E1 Alternative
We have been using Red-fone foneBridge2 Quad T1/E1 for last few years.
As these devices are not available anymore, we are looking for alternatives.
Are there any similar devices available ?

Experiences with FoneBridge2 / TDMoE?
I'm scoping out HA for a relatively simple Office/Call Center PBX. Current
setup uses a TE412P with 4 PRI our telco with SIP hard/soft phones for
users. Some outbound also goes to a SIP provider.
Active/Active looks to be too much hassle for an installation this size, so
we're looking at adding an extra * in an active/passive configuration with
Linux-HA in between them.
Does anyone

Fonebridge2
Hello List
Does anybody have any experience with the FoneBridge line of products from RedFone?
I think their HA implementation sounds interesting, and like the prospect of having dedicated hardware for our PRI connections.
Kind Regards

[BULK] Fonebridge2
We tried them out early last year when we were looking at a large deployment and they gave us a lot of the redundancy that we wanted. However we did run into issues where calls seemed to get caught up in the system. It was as far as we could tell rather random. No consistency to it at all. Asterisk hung up the call but the telco side of the line didn't actually hang up. The channel was left

Redundancy / Failover
I've been evaluating Asterisk for a while, and things seem to be
going very well. The issue of redundancy and automatic fail-over is
now on my mind. I searched the archives and googled for solutions,
but didn't really come up with much.
We'll be using queues (modified), which precludes some of the
standard redundancy solutions, since the queue needs to know all the

Failover Device?
First,
Something seems to be wrong with the list. I'm not the only person
who has expressed seeing their messages either arrive late, or not at
all.
With that out of the way..
Is anyone aware of any type of failover device for PRI on asterisk?
I've found the ISDNGuard, however it is currently not made in the
U.S., nor does it run on U.S. power.
Is anyone aware of a device that will

Where to download Junghanns ISDNguard software?
Hi list,
I recently purchased an ISDNguard from Junghanns. It came with no
software and there is no sign on their website or in any of their
documentation where to download it. I have looked in
http://www.junghanns.net/downloads/ and there is no sign of it there
either. The only thing remotly close ther is
isdnguard-asterisk-1.2.13.patch. Their documentation refers to
/usr/sbin/ISDNguard. Where

foneBRIDGE2 vs. foneBRIDGE2-EC
Hello,
I'm trying to decide between the foneBRIDGE2 ($1135) and foneBRIDGE2-EC
($1610).
Has anyone here directly compared the two? Would we really suffer
without the onboard echo cancellation? The manufacturer's site doesn't
really give much helpful information about choosing one over the other.
Thanks.

foneBRIDGE2 setup
Hi
I've published my Asterisk/foneBRIDGE2/heartbeat setup: config files,
scripts... along with a brief description of the architecture and
working of the cluster. It's available here:

$70 USD bounty for simple Junghanns ISDNguard shell script
Hi all,
I recently purchased a Junghanns ISDNguard and to my horror I found out:
- Junghanns technical support is non-existant
- I can't use it without recompiling Asterisk with res_watchdog
My situation:
- Recompiling Asterisk with thrid party code is not an option us
- We only need it for manual failover - don't require all the fancy
monitoring stuff
I need a simple shell script

Help 60Hz Hum?
Hey guys,
I am trying to diagnose a hum in my FXO lines
I am using an Adtran 750 with 8 FXO ports. I am getting a pretty bad hum
on the line during a call.
I have checked the Telco side of the 66 block and there is no hum there
so it's my problem to fix.
I have tried to lower the gain but that reduces the call volume to much.
Where else should I be looking?

UK BT ISDN30e PRI Problem
Ok Guys, I've done a tonne of hunting around on this problem, but
can't find much help.
I'm running:
asterisk 1.4.19.1
libpri 1.4.3
and zaptel 1.4.9.2 which I believe has been modified by RedFone to add
the ztd-ethmf module.
My interface is a RedFone foneBridge2 4 Span; and I'm connecting to a
BT E1 PRI / ISDN30e with 15 lines on span 1, and a legacy Panasonic
PBX on span 4. Upon

Crash related to "asterisk -rx" ?
Hi list,
Last Friday, an Asterisk server became unresponsive after ~8,5 months of
smooth operation (~320000 calls). Server did reply to pings, but no ssh,
no more console login. Also Asterisk no longer took calls, but ISDNguard
watchdog was still alive. Looking at the logs after reboot, I could not
find anything significant, except in a file created by the following
command via a cron job:

asterisk. If asterisk fails, it will automatically fail the PRI over
to your backup machine. Can you manually force the failover? I think
so, but I'm not positive. You can ask the failsafevoip people
directly. I've exchanged emails with them before and they are
knowledgeable and responsive.

PRI Bridging and Recording
Hi All
Does anyone have any ideas around what processing power is needed when
bridging PRI channels and recording?
I am not sure how the bridging takes place with and without recording?
I basically have a situation like this:
Telko <----> Asterisk <-----> Legacy PBX
Where the lines are PRI's between Telko and Asterisk and Asterisk and
the Legacy PBX.
At what level does

TE410P alarms stay RED with 1.4.22
Hi,
I tried "upgrading" from debian's 1.4.21.2 package to vanilla 1.4.22 but
then my TE410P alarms stay RED and no zap channels can be created, even
if they are correctly listed by "zap show channels". I tried adding
"dahdichanname = no" to asterisk.conf's [options] to no effect.
Going back to 1.4.21.2 brings my alarms back to OK.
This is with zaptel
