Fix for USE_POSIX_THREADS in auth-pam.c
As many of you know, OpenSSH 3.7.X, unlike previous versions, makes
PAM authentication take place in a separate process or thread
(launched from sshpam_init_ctx() in auth-pam.c). By default (if you
don't define USE_POSIX_THREADS) the code "fork"s a separate process.
Or if you define USE_POSIX_THREADS it will create a new thread (a
second one, in addition to the primary thread).

Postfix with Deliver (LDA) - user unknown
Good Day All! I am attempting to configure deliver as our LDA. I am
also configuring the server to use Postfix instead of Sendmail. I
have followed the all the documentation and examples I could find.
Below are my Dovecot and Postfix configs. Can someone please smack me
upside the head and tell me why I am getting "user unknown" errors?
If i don't use deliver as the LDA, all

save method (create action) saves twice
Rails 3.1.3
I have changed a regular scaffold action a bit so that it can save using
ajax.
All I needed to do was adding ":remote => true" in
<div id="script_new">
<%= form_for script, :remote => true do |f| %> <!-- HERE!!! -->
<%= f.hidden_field :video_id %>
<%= f.text_field :text %>
<%= f.submit "save" %>

How bad is it to have 7 joins in my find_by_sql?
My question is whether there''s a more idiomatic rails way of
structuring this query or of redoing the underlying models. First,
the ugly find_by_sql code, which is the method to generate an atom feed:
def atom
items_per_feed = 15
sql_query = "SELECT activities.*, users.real_name AS real_name,

Parent id for find_or_create method
Rails 3.1.3
I have tables, Video and Script having association,
Video 1 --- n Script
So, every Script needs the parent id, in this case, video_id.
If I simply create a new Script instance, the view renders as follows.
<%= render :partial => "new_script", :locals => { :script =>
Script.new(:video_id => @video.id)} %>
which works fine. Now I would like to

Rails, REST and JSON
Hi everyone,
I''m writing a lightweight AJAX application using Rails on the server side as
a RESTful web service provider.
I need the web service to support both JSON and XML I/O. Outputting data in
XML and JSON is easy (using to_xml and to_json),
and it''s also easy to do XML input as Rails does it for you automatically.
Is it possible to somehow have the same
automatic parsing

Completed 406 Not Acceptable
After migrating my 2.3.9 app to rails 3.0.0 I get this error:
Completed 406 Not Acceptable in 513ms
I also noted that processing controller doesn''t output the protocol:
-- Processing by Admin::PhotographersController#update as
while if it works, say:
-- Processing by Admin::PhotographersController#update as HTML

How can I spec this? The method gets passed a block...
I''m using Jim Weirich''s Builder library. The code I want to spec is
xml.video do
xml.id @video_id
xml.views @views
xml.date(@date.to_s) if @date
end
I''d like to mock it, rather than asserting that the XML is the right
string. I can do one spec:
specify "should create a video tag" do
@mock_builder.should_receive(:video)

find_by_sql preformance problems when ordering data
Hi,
I am bumping into a small problem I was hoping someone could send me in
the right direction on.
I''m counting votes from a votes table to try to find the top ten videos.
The following works really well, until I try to order it. It would seem
that the order by is adding a 26 second delay, which surprised me since
it was all done in sql. I revised the process to sort and publish on

Creating RESTful helpers on the fly
If I have a resource called ''assets'' then I get for free a bunch of
helpers, like
assets_path
new_asset_path
and so forth, right?
I would like to be able to create a call to one of these on the fly when
I only find out the name of the resource at run time. For example I
would like to do this:
resource_name = "assets"
resource_path(resource_name, method => :new)

postfix - killed by signal 11 - debug help
Any suggestions to help me troubleshoot a "killed by signal 11" problem
with Postfix? I've Googled and fiddled, but cannot figure it out. I
have no idea where to look/start.
Based on this post, Wietse suggests this type of problem happens when
there compiled with different libraries. I tried ldd on various
programs and found they all seemed to line up, but I know little.

R 4.0.0 build error with sysdata.rda on ppc64el architecture
The R 4.0.0 package migration on Debian is being held back by a failed build
on ppc64el [1]. We can see from the history of builds logs [2] that it used
to build, briefly failed, worked again and then failed leading to R 4.0.0's
release. (And my bad for missing how the alpha1/alpha2/beta/rc builds failed.)
I have however neither changed anything, nor did I ever have to accomodate
