Double DTMF digits
When dtmfmode is set to inband for SIP, and i originate a call from sip out to the PSTN, I can hear the DTMF digit twice in the audio stream. Once very briefly and once for normal duration. Our Theory: While Asterisk is parsing the DTMF, for a fraction of a second, while the end user generated DTMF is being detected, the DTMF is passed inband. Once the DTMF is detected Asterisk silences it

I can't get multiple interfaces to work
I've looked through all the doc and searched the list archives, but I just can't seem to get it to work. I have a Linux box with 5 ethernet interfaces, 3 of which have winboxes I'd like to include in my little Samba network. I'm able to get it far enough for each winbox to see the linbox, but they can't see each other. Here's my setup: Winboxes Linbox Win2k -

plot() and points() precision control
Hi all, I have a problem in that when I plot points that have a high degree of precision, some significant rounding seems to occur, resulting in uneccessary overlap of my points. Is there a way to specify the resolution or precision in plotting functions? Is there an underlying grid I have to modify somehow? Many Thanks, Jon -- Mares eat oats and does eat oats and little lambs eat ivy. A

ipmasqadm port forwarding ipportfw (HOWTO)
Hi All, born out of frustration with conflicting info on the net, I thought I'd share a simple guide to set up the port forwarding side of masquerading... this presumes you already have basic ipchains setup and simple masquerading of internal machines installed. PORT FORWARDING USING IPMASQADM. “Ipmasqadm” supercedes the “ipportfw” feature. 1 - Upgrade to Kernel 2.2.12-20 if not already

ATA devices
Does anyone know of a 24 port ATA device that could be installed in a phone closet? Like a channel bank, but, instead of multiplexing onto a T-1 circuit, it would convert to SIP/RTP on a LAN connection. Thanks, -- Michael Welter Introspect Telephony Corp. Linksys SRW224P POE Switch
We are currently considering the Linksys POE switch for a small Asterisk office deployment. There will be no separate wiring closet to put it in. Can anybody tell me if this switch has a loud fan? Users would not be able to tolerate a loud noise close by. Otherwise we will go with a fanless desktop switch. Thanks, -- Andres

Headless Linux system for Asterisk
Because of space limitations and because of the location of the punch-down blocks, my * server is located on the shelf in a coat closet. Sadly, there is not enough space (or ventilation) for the monitor and keyboard. This will all change when we move to new quarters, but... Does anyone have experience running Linux/Asterisk without a monitor? What, if any, are the issues? TIA

zonedata.c
Hi, Could anyone tell me how to read the values in the "zonedata.c" file? I am looking at the "zt_tone_ringtone" field mainly. Thank you. Active directory sites & subnets
Thanks for the answer ligpanda101!! For DC's that are not present on a subnet, assign the subnet to the closet > site to a DC Visibly via RSAT, how would that look? RFC3389 support issue with DG104S
I am getting (with older image): RFC3389 support incomplete. Turn off on client if possible How do I turn that off for the DG104s? Or if I can't how do I tweak asterisk? I see posts about ATA-186's having an audiomode, but the closet I came to was inbanddtmf. I tried =0 and =1, no effect. Thanks! -- Zot O'Connor <zot@zotconsulting.com> White Knight Hackers, Inc.

CD emulation (a la daemontools)
I was wondering if anyone was aware of a method for mounting virtual CD devices with CD image files. I keep images (.CUE/.BIN pairs) of my CD collection on a NAS appliance tucked away in my closet. I'd like to write a script to mount each one, create ID tags, rip the tracks, then move along to the next one. I figure with a quad core opteron, it should be able to crank through them in a

smbstatus connection.tdb not initialised
HI, I recently upgraded from SAMBA 2.0.7 to SAMBA 2.2.2. I downloaded the binaries (from samba.org binary packages) for HP UX 10.20. I am able to map drives and print however when I execute smbstatus (even at the root level) I get connections.tdb not initialised. This file does not exist in the /var/opt/samba/locks directory. I changed my log level to 3 to try to see what is going on but

Active directory sites & subnets
Hello, Reading about, specifically in the wiki <https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Active_Directory_Sites> link, says the following about subnets. "Create a subnet entry for all subnets in your network and assign them to a site:" The subnet on which our DCs are configured is a public IP block, but the client machines are in a subnet with a private address block. Do I need to

Forensics CD Toolkit for FreeBSD
Hi, I'd like to build a toolkit CD specifically for conducting forensics on FreeBSD. I'm not talking about a bootable CD but rather one that I could pop into a CD ROM drive and run trusted commands like ps, netstat, ls, etc., from. I'd like to build a CD that would work on -RELEASE versions of FreeBSD like 5.1 and -STABLE versions of FreeBSD too. Can anyone give me any pointers

fit data with skew t distribution
Hi, Is there a function in R that I can use to fit the data with skew t distribution? Speaking in detail, I first used the kernel density estimation to fit my data, then I drew the skew t using my specified location, scale, shape, and df to make it close to the kernel density. Now I want to get the parameter estimations of the skew t which give me the closet density to the kernel density.

WWDC Puppeteer lunch
Reminder for Mac Puppeteers going to WWDC How about we meet for lunch at noon on Tuesday. Let''s try to get the table closet to the Odwalla refrigerator, just for reference. We can get more specific on this list on the 8th after we verify the set up. I might even get there a little earlier and put down "reserved" tags. --- Thank you, Allan Marcus Solutions Architect Central

Nick, What are you planning on running over the shared connection? Database, eMail, File Shares? How many users? How much data? What is your I/O profile? I've worked with 'enterprise' storage most of my career either as a consumer, adviser or provider - can't comment on AoE other than to suggest you look at what are the business & technical goals, how they solve it and what
