hello!
basically what is the difference between DCOM95 and DCOM98?
if i change from 95 to 98, what kind of effects should it make to my
apps under wine

excel still broken
All,
excel.exe is still broken on the latest wine 2.11 with the mscreate.dir
error on excel start up. the system is win98 so dcom98.exe is loaded.
Is there a work around. If so where is it documented? I have tried to
install the dcom95 version but that errors.

DCOM9x - Is it used only for instalation or running?
Hi all,
I have a doubt: is the DCOM95/DCOM98 used only for instalation
purposes or it is used for the running process to do something?
I'm asking this because we have equal workstations that we could just
install wine, configure it the same way and put only the apps we want to
run but without DCOM9x because it requires a Windows license. Is that
possible? I mean I could use only one

dcom98 on wine 0.9.30
I'm trying to install dcom98 using the command WINEDLLOVERRIDES="ole32=n"
wine DCOM98.EXE
I still get the message saying a newer version of dcom95 or dcom98 is
already installed .
How can I resolve this.

Hi,
Tons of instalation (and probably applications too) needs
DCOM to install.
There are 2 availables DCOM to be installed DCOM95 and DCOM98.
Both with version 1.3 .
Most documentations on wine say that wine is more likely
to work with windows 98 (as the C:\ ).
However, most guides to specific applications like office,
dreamweaver, corel draw say that DCOM95 should be installed.

Debugging DCOM for Future Pinball
With current wine version, Future Pinball (a free pinball simulation)
needs native DCOM98.EXE to run.

DCOM98 install regression in wine-0.9.6!
I've made a fresh install of wine-0.9.6 then i tried to install DCOM98, by
putting in winecfg as win98.
This is the error that gives me

problems in the install microsoft office 2000 with wine
My systems is rh9, I installed the latest wine
(20040914), with a RPM package downloaded from
http://rpm.pbone.net/.
when I execued "wine setup.exe" (Note: it is in the
hardware, not in CDROM. I am not for sure whether it

Unhandled page fault ... NIghtmare
Hello,
All day long I have been trying to run a 32 bit application (a
dictionary software) needed by some users.
Unless I succeed, I will have to move some users from Linux to Windows
(it scares me and makes me angry).

Using OLE DB Connections from Wine

I'm trying to use Enterprise Architect under wine. School Software with WINE
Hello,
The network administrators for the school I work for have recent left
and also left the network in a rather large mess. There are files such
as pictures being stored in random folders on random computers all

Duke Nukem MP

I tried to install Duke Nukem Manhattan Project (which should just
run fine according to wine's appdb and frank's corner) but while
