GPS-enabled cell phone/PDA
I would like to capture the lat/lon coordinates from a GPS-enabled cell
phone or PDA. Is this possible? Must I subscribe to this information
from the cellphone network provider, or can I capture it without charge?
What devices will broadcast the coordinates? Is there a device that
will broadcast its position inband that can be captured by Asterisk?
Can an SMS message include coordinates?

Centos on a Flash drive and Micro drive
I am considering putting together a 'micro server' that I can easily
travel with. I am seriously considering the decTOP, as at $99 (plus the
cost of a 256MB SIMM) is amazingly priced.
But I want to run on batteries, so trash a real hard drive. I have a
couple of IDE to Compact flash adapters that support 2 flash cards. So
I was considering a 4Gb (or even 2Gb) cheap real fash card

Clustering algorithms don't find obvious clusters
I have a directed graph which is represented as a matrix on the form
0 4 0 1
6 0 0 0
0 1 0 5
0 0 4 0
Each row correspond to an author (A, B, C, D) and the values says how many
times this author have cited the other authors. Hence the first row says
that author A have cited author B four times and author D one time. Thus the
matrix represents two groups of authors: (A,B) and (C,D) who cites

Sprint Nextel sueing over VoIP patents
Sprint Nextel is sueing vonage, voiceglo and theglobe.com for infringing
on VoIP patents. Sprint Nextel claims to have about 100 patents on VoIP
technologies. Does anyone know which ones this article is talking
about, and if so does asterisk have any of those features?
The reason I am asking is that the article is vague, Vonage uses a
fairly standard codec set, I dont know about the others.

Configuration problems
Sorry, repost

Hi,
I'm trying to build a vpn between two hosts with valid IP address. One

Configuration files and routes seem to be ok.

Background call forwarding?
What I'm looking to achieve:
Incoming calls to me extension will ring for 15 seconds. After that, I
want the calls to forward to my cell phone and attempt to get through
for another 30 seconds. After 30 seconds, I would like Asterisk to
timeout the call, and goto my Asterisk voicemail.
I've got the call forwarding down, but I'm using Nextel for cellular
service, which loves give

Asterisk 1.4, Unicall and Nextel...
I have a customer that is complaining that any call coming in from
Nextel gives a fast busy. We are running Asterisk 1.4.7.1 with Zaptel
1.4.3 and all the MFC/R2 patches and libraries. All other calls go out
and come in, just Nextel seems to have this problem. The phone company
technician connected a PBX emulator on the line and that one could
receive the calls from Nextel.

extra digits added to data
I am having a problem with extra digits being added to my data which I think
is a result of how I am converting my data.frame data to xts.
I see the same issue in R v2.13.1 and RStudio version 0.94.106.
I am loading historical foreign exchange data in via csv files or from a sql
server database. In both cases there are no extra digits and the original
data looks like the following:

Touch tone recognition issues
I'm experiencing touch tone recognition issues when calling some outside
phone systems. For instance, if I call my Nextel phone, and try to press
* to enter my voicemail, Nextel's system does not "hear" the DTMF tone.
I've also experienced other outside phone systems for which I am unable
to use their touch tone menus. Oddly, this isn't the case with all
outside systems.

How to read or write Geolocation (RFC6442) data in SIP/PJSIP messages ?
Hello,
I'm having a look at section 13.1 from SIP Connect v2 doc (see [1]).
It refers to RFC6442 which gives the following example (sorry for its
length):

logger anybody?
Hello,
When trying to use logger into any RSpec I get:
logger anyboundefined local variable or method `logger'' for
#<#<Class:0x278bee0>:0x253cdec>
Not sure if this is the spected behaviour (haven''t checked under the
hood) It was just annoying not having a logger instance available as in
Rails out of the tests.

any standard compliant C compiler supports i5, believe it or not.
Try this:
