codec_g729a implicated in file descriptor buildup
Hello, I wonder if anyone else has noticed this. I see a pair of calls to pipe() within the codec_g729a, and suddenly, I have a leaked file descriptor that remains until asterisk dies. Now, maybe no-one sees this, mainly because I have no g729 licenses on the machines where this happens. And conversely, I haven't yet studied servers that do have licenses. Why have codec_g729a.so loaded if

RedFone foneBRIDGE2 2e1 - anyone used it or another TDMoE bridge?
I've been asked to look at deploying Asterisk in a high availability environment and I've been looking so I've been searching for methods to decouple the voice PRI circuits from the Asterisk server so failover to another server could take place. I've been looking at the RedFone foneBRIDGE2 2e1 product here:

Codec G729 no longer works.
I upgraded my server from Fedora Core 4 to Fedora Core 5. I was wondering if anybody else has run into the problem and know's the fix? I recompiled asterisk and if I don't have the /usr/lib/asterisk/modules/codec_g729a.so file in place it works. I use or used to use the licensed G729 Codec from Digium. This is the error message from asterisk -vvg: [app_playback.so] => (Sound File

Method for scripting options specified in make menuconfig
I've been digging around and I haven't found a way to do this, but I have a feeling I'll feel like an idiot because it's something I'm over looking. Normally if I need to specify an additional option (such as different language sound files) or I'm building an Asterisk server with a lean configuration and need to remove some modules I do so with 'make menuconfig'.

G.729a beta codec on old Pentiums
Hi, I've been trying to get the G.729a beta codec running with my remote Asterisk box that talks IAX2 to my local Asterisk box. Digium fixed the problem I was having in registering the beta codec, so that now works fine. I've removed the old codec_g729b.so from /usr/lib/asterisk/modules and put in place the codec_g729a.so beta from digium FTP. My CVS build of Asterisk is about a

Dealing with progress codes
Hi, I've ran into an issue with a PRI provider in a major metropolitan area that I haven't needed to deal with before and I was hoping someone might have some insight on how to handle this within the Asterisk dialplan. At this location users can't always tell if a number is long distance or not (there are a lot of area codes and prefixes in the vicinity). Additionally, users are
