Debian Packages and Mirrors
FYI and to whom it may concern, I have made Debian packages of Asterisk et. al. You still need to build a new kernel and the zaptel modules from source, but Asterisk and libpri are manageable with dpkg. The debs as well as mirrors of the source distribution are here: http://www.ntgos.com/Projects/Asterisk/Download http://parc.styx.org/asterisk I would also like to mirror the CVS repository as

Drawing On the Desktop
Hi, I am currently developing a xsnow like plugin for beryl called xglsnow (http://cornergraf.net/projects/xglsnow/). I have been told(1) that my way of drawing to the desktop is not very good and that a better way might exist. I realize beryl is not the same as compiz, but I hope that the differences are not too big on this matter, if not excuse me for this post. My drawing currently works

[LLVMdev] 'loop invariant code motion' and 'Reassociate Expression'
It's an interesting problem. The best stuff I've seen published is by Cooper, Eckhart, & Kennedy, in PACT '08. Cooper gives a nice intro in one of his lectures: http://www.cs.rice.edu/~keith/512/2012/Lectures/26ReassocII-1up.pdf I can't tell, quickly, what's going on in Reassociate; as usual, the documentation resolutely avoids giving any credit for the ideas. Why is that?

Winetools - Java?
Hi, I wonder if I'm just missing it. Does Winetools have any built in support for installing Java to run under Wine? I want to use a web site (Streetsmart.com) that is restricted to using IE. I've got IE running under Wine but now need Java support to continue forward. Thanks, Mark

Installing winetools
When trying to install Microsoft Foundation Classes I find that winetools gets stuck on the mfc40.dll download. I can download mfc40.dll via my broswer, however. Where to stick this file, so that winetools can find it, and not need to download from dlldump.com? I'm on Ubuntu with the KDE desktop installed, if that matters. Thanks. Proper way of updating winetools?
After updating from, say winetools-2.10-jo to 2.11-jo (by rpm), I can't use the wt startup scripts like ie6, wmplayer etc. any longer, and I get an error message similar to "winetools hasn't been configured for this user. Run the base setup ..." But doing so would erase my ~/.wine directory and thus destroy my old setup including all my program installations, which of course
