Connecting 1-2 GSM ports to asterisk?
Hi, List, I am looking for a cheapest (and therefore most funny) way to attach GSM card to my asterisk home box. Needed features: Calls+SMS in/out one or two SIM cards (ports) Should I try looking for a GSM PCI card that is compatible with linux/asterisk, or GSM USB card, or modern full-blown SIP GSM gateway (with ethernet)? Maybe an ordinary cell phone with USB interface and mangling with

Using a mobile phone via USB as an extension
I have had a search for this, but didn't come up with any results, so maybe I am using the wrong terms, sorry if this is an FAQ. For those who want to forward their incoming voice calls to a mobile, it could be a cheaper option to call a mobile from another mobile on the same network. This probably wouldn't be useful for users in USA, Canada or Hong Kong as costs to call a mobile is

OT - Chan-mobile -Bluetooth dongle on remote LAN workstation
Hello, On a LAN, is it possible to install a bluetooth dongle on one workstation (at this time, this workstation OS is not specified) and use it with chan_mobile ? I've read some USB over IP (or Ethernet) middleware exist but I'm not certain I'm looking at the right direction. Regards -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Connect Asterisk to a cell phone
Hello, Are there any gateways which allow me to hook a cellphone to Asterisk and use that line for routing my calls? Basically, I'm looking to play around a bit and if I can get to connect a cellphone with Asterisk then that would be great. Thanks, Hitesh PS: I have tried to search on the web, but didn't find any pointers on how to do so. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML

NOT chan_mobile
Hi all, does anyone know of an application that will run in Windows (in my case users PC's) and behave in a similar fasion to chan_mobile? I'd like the app to register with asterisk, then talk to a (or a number of) mobiles over bluetooth thus creating an FXO port? I'm not interested in SMS etc. just voice. Thanks in advance Ray. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML

Connecting a UMTS module via USB to asterisk
Hi, i'm new to the list, this is my first post here. I have a UMTS module that can be used like a modem and associated with a SIM card (on a simple board) can make phone and data call towards a real phone. Basically is a sort of rough phone that i configure and use by AT commands. It can handle and receive incoming call to the phone number associated to the sim very easily. I connect the

Chan_mobile issue
Hello, I just did a fresh svn install of 1.4 trunk everything. Everything compiles and installs just fine. When I get to asterisk-addons, I cannot select chan_mobile in menuselect. Chan_mobile is not even an option in menuselect for asterisk trunk. I tried the latest patch which failed in many places but did add an option for chan_mobile in menuselect for asterisk but it still cannot be

Softphone to be installed on the Mobile
Hi All; Is there a softphone that can be installed on a mobile (new mobile models), so it can work with Asterisk as following: 1) As SIP or H323 client, with the ability to add button functionalities (call pickup, call transfer, ...) so if there is a wireless network, then it can use it to connect to Asterisk and work as client, but from the Mobile. 2) If there is no wireless network, then it

Limiting call minutes on a GSM SIM
Hi! I'm considering to buy a GSM bridge to save on GSM calls. Right now they are offering subscriptions with 200 minutes each month for almost nothing, however the 400 minutes subscriptions are considerably more expensive. Most GSM bridges can cater for 2 SIM cards, is there a way for Asterisk to run the first SIM card to it's max and then switch to the second? (If one call would

Anyone having any luck with Bluetooth?
I have read all the wiki's and blogs and how to links about Bluetooth but so far no luck. I can confirm that CentOS5 sees my Bluetooth adapter and my cell phone. No Joy on Asterisk 1.4. The information out there is kind of confusing as there is a lot of outdated info sometimes referring to software no longer actively developed. What I think I have managed to conclude is that there is a

Latest chan_mobile
Hello, I recently updated my asterisk-addons-1.6.2 to the last revision and I have this problem that I don't know how to interpret, bug or not. I connected a Nokia N80 phone to use chan_mobile and everything works great until the phone starts getting disconnected after the call finished and sometimes during the call attempt. Is this a bug or a possible known issue for Nokia phones? # rpm

GSM cellphone as cheap gateway?
Hello Even the cheapest GSM gateway I found for a simple SOHO server costs over $300. If possible, I'd rather have a local solution than use a remote VoIP provider to have Asterisk make outgoing calls to the GSM network. So... I was wondering if there are some entry-level cellphones that can somehow be hooked up to a PC running Asterisk and used as an el-cheapo GSM gateway? Thank you.

Slightly OT: Android phone as sip-gw?
Hi, i have some spare (read: Boss get's a new one every few month ;)) Android Phones laying around. Does someone know a way of using them as a mobile gateway for asterisk? I could not find any SIP-Gateway in the Market, and i don't think it's possible to use the GSM Audio directly with something like chan_datacard... chan_mobile and hardphones?
Hi, I have configured a certified asterisk 13 server with chan_mobile and res_pjsip. I have a Cisco 7940 hardphone and I use ekiga as softphone client. Now the problem is, using the hardphone I'm able to call the softphone and hear everything properly. But when I call from the hardphone to some number that has to be dialed via chan_mobile, I'm not able to hear what the other side says (I

1.4 Branch -- which revision
I'm finally migrating from the 6/7/05 CVS version to 1.4. Had quite a run, I have to admit. Asterisk itself only segfaulted once or twice, but the dns issues have been bothering me. And the box just needs to go. Everything is going on a Ubuntu 6.06TLS server, that's been perfectly stable. I had 1.4.1 installed and running, but not configured. Yesterday I upgraded to 1.4.11,
