Two PRI setup questions
I am in the process of implementing a new ISDN pri and have a couple of questions. This is a full 24 channels (23 B and 1 D) delivered over a T1 interface. The interface looks good and is not showing any errors. Any help that you can provide would be greatly appreciated. 1) What switchtype should be configured in the zapata.conf file when AT&T is using CUSTOM? My understanding is that

Voicemail Question
Is there a way to allow a user to dial an extension after listening to your voicemail instead of leaving a message? Example would be the big boss is on vacation and changes his out message to say "you can reach my assistant at by dialing 1234 now or leave me a message". Thanks in advance. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

Rewriting caller ID from database?
Hi Most of our customers have generic names like "Hospital", so I need to rewrite their caller ID name by looking up the number in a database on the Asterisk server, and rewriting the name such as "Reading Hospital" so that we know who's calling. Any idea if this can be done with Asterisk, and how to do it? Thank you.

X100P and TDM400P non-USA Caller ID
I am sure that quite a lot of people would like to have Caller ID working with their X100P and TDM400P cards outside of USA. Judging from previous threads this is just a matter of implementing this support in the software driver! So, I was thinking, if we get together and put few $(USA DOLLARS) into a basket, we could then ask Digium to actually properly implement Caller ID for non USA

CallerID Number incorrect in SIP packet
I am having an issue with the CallerID Number not being passed to my phone in the SIP packet. The CallerID Name is passed just fine and displayed on the phone with no issue. I have done a NoOp() in my extension.conf and successfully seen both the CallerID name and number correctly. So that leads me to believe that Asterisk is handeling it correctly. However, when I do a packet capture of the

Using Modems with Asterisk
Has anyone had any experience using a modem through the Asterisk system? I have some technical support personnel that need to use a computer modem to connect to a remote system for troubleshooting. Is there a SIP compliant gateway that will support a modem connection at decent speeds (minimum of 28.8) that anyone knows of? If not, has anyone used a Digium FXS card for this? Thanks

X100P/Caller ID: clidtest works, * complains [repost]
Hi, I'm running Asterisk 1.0.8 on Gentoo, with an X100P (clone) card, and I'm having problems with Caller ID. I have run clidtest, and it seems happy enough, returning:- server clidtest # ./clidtest /dev/zap/1 Number: 0412222222, Name: MOBILE (that number's fake.) However, I'm not getting the caller ID passed through with *. Sometimes I get a "failed checksum" like

Transfer Issue with IAX Trunk
I have an IAX trunk configured between 2 Asterisk servers. Everything is working great except if the caller presses # during the call. If they press # the local PBX comes on and says transferring and tries to transfer to a blank extension. Does anyone know how to turn this off? There is no extension defined for # in the dial plan. Thanks for your thoughts on this.

Wrong caller id in CDR
I posted something on this a week ago, at which time I was told that this was an 'old' issue. Since then, I've spent hours looking, but can't find the answer. For some reason, some of my CDRs (both to CSV and MySQL) are being written with the wrong callerid. As best as I can determine, they are being written with the CLID of the _last_ caller to access the specific ZAP channel

Voicemail mailbox number passed in connection?
Does anyone know how to configure a SIP phone to pass the mailbox number to the voicemail service when dialing? I would like to press the message waiting lamp and be prompted for my password instead of "mailbox number". Can this be passed in the set-up call or based on caller-id? Thanks -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

Caller ID Rewrite
Hi All, I have a quick query which I'm sure someone will have done before. Essentially, I have a 3rd party desktop app which does number lookup in Outook via the manager interface. Works wonderfully. However, it's not very clever in the number matching. I have all my contacts stored in +country code <number> format. My service provider passes all numbers, apart from UK

Voicemail from GTalk says "from an unknown caller"
When I listen to voicemail from my Google Talk buddy, the envelope says, "from an unknown caller". But the voicemail correctly records the caller ID of calls that arrive via Zapata into the same context that receives Google Talk calls. How can I configure the voicemail to include the caller's Google Talk identity in the envelope?

Attended transfers and orginal caller ID
Greetings list, Have there been any further developments recently regarding presenting the original caller's caller ID to SIP devices after an attended transfer? I've googled around on the topic, but most of the threads I've found (some from this very list) are all dated back in mid-2006 and I wondered if there have been developments on the issue. To recap, the desired behaviour

Newbie question: how to proxy the *real* caller-id on find-me/follow-me
I've got the following set up: Someone calls into my PBX on a single number (via SIP trunk from my carrier), and the get a voice menu of extensions. On one of the extensions, it rings a bunch of internal SIP hardphones, plus ringing my cellphone via a hairpin through the cairrier's SIP/PSTN gateway. The issue is that my cellphone shows my PBX's number, not the original calling

Setting caller ID on outgoing calls.
Excuse me if I recently posted on this, but I cannot find it, in my, or the list archives. Is it possible, when transferring a call, to set the user ID to that of the "outgoing number" instead of the incoming number? I believe the answer is (was) yes. New twist, does it matter what the destination "media" is? Meaning, the call would be coming in on a T1, going out on a T1,
