Change Default Voicemail Message
Hello List, I have a client (a nursing home) that we are looking at installing a trixbox for. One of the features that they would really like is a customized, standard voicemail recording for each of the residents rooms. We are looking for something along the lines of a voicemail recording like this: "Welcome to (nursing home). You have reached room 5. Please leave a message after the

Which is the best fax-modem for testing ?
Hi, Which fax-modem would you pick if you had to test fax capabilities ? For instance, before releasing a new PBX system offering fax connectivity, you would like to make sure you "comply" with most fax machines and protocols. As you can't afford you buy and maintain tens of such fax machines nor can't afford to test by hand each protocol, it's tempting to buy an

STUN with one public and one private IP?
I'm finishing up deploying an Asterisk (Trixbox) box at work. Wow, I thought Asterisk was cool by itself, but Trixbox has made just about everything turnkey. Great stuff! So... we're using Grandstream GXP-2000 handsets to connect to the Trixbox, which sits on our DMZ with a single public IP. I need the phones to work from random places behind NAT, as well as in the office. I'm using

Match between Dom0 and DomU PV
I have a bit of a Xen theory question. I have a Debian 5 Lenny x64 Dom0 currently running two DomUs. One is an x64 built via Xen-tools, and it seems to be running great. The second (known as Alpha) is having some troubles, as I mentioned in my post "Ubuntu 8.04 DomU crash" to this list on 5/12/09. It is an x86/32 Ubuntu 8.04 that started life as an HVM and was rebuilt into a PV where

IBM x3250 + CentOS
Hi, Is anyone using CentOS on an IBM x3250? Were you able to get it working using vanilla CentOS, without any binary drivers? Any tips onlist or off would be appreicated. We are planning to buy one soon. Ben -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Bullet-proof FXO?
Been using a few different FXO interfaces (X100P, Voicetronix, and SPA-3000) at a couple sites and they've all run into nasty issues at times. I'm looking at moving one of my offices and am in the market for a solution for connecting 4 FXOs. I got excited about recent offerings from Digium and Sangoma in the way of new cards but I hear they're causing troubles for more than a few.

scatter.smooth error
Hello When I run scatter.smooth(jitter(weight), jitter(height2), span = .25, evaluation = 50, pch = '.') I get the type of graph I thought I would get, but also a warning..... k-d tree limited by memory. ncmax= 528 I always get concerned when there are warnings I don't understand. What's a k-d tree? Is this something to be concerned about? Thanks Peter Peter L. Flom,

Optimal Configuration
Hey all First off, ive just switched to using mongrel_cluster and pound - its working a treat! Its far far faster than fast-cgi: operations that took a few seconds on fcgi now are almost instant with mongrel. Excellent! However, I''ve been trying to decide how best to utilise my equipment most effectively. I have a dual pro 3Ghz Xenon with 2GB RAM, and the server will be running a few

FXO without answer supervision
Simple question that google hasn't helped much with (likely poor search terms) I just installed a Sangoma A200 with overall good results. Initial tests with both incoming and outgoing calls were very positive. Until I made a normal call that lasted more than 30 seconds. I setup the FXO with kewlstart signalling, and the outgoing call is never registered as 'Answered' and the dial

Sangoma A200D analog card with fxo's
FYI... Just installed one of the new Sangoma A200D analog pstn cards with the hardware echo canceller on a trial basis. The card has four fxo interfaces. Excellent audio quality, excellent echo cancelling, and excellent audio levels. The four pstn lines at this location are rather long analog loops that have rather long echo trails. I started with a pair of x100p's a couple of years ago,

Sangoma A200D problem
Hi all, I've been having problems with my A20002D lately - callers from the PSTN don't hear me when I answer, but I hear them. Disabling echo cancellation in zapata.conf brings the audio (and echo) back. This used to work fine, until two days ago. The only weird thing in the logs is this: May 12 07:42:53 steerpike wan_ecd: wp1ec: The H100 slave has lost its framing on the bus! May

TDM-400, Polycom SIP phones, and echo problems
Hi: I am working on a new system with a TDM-400P card with three FXO modules and one FXS module. The system has been in place for a week. Users are complaining of echo problems. I have noticed this echo myself. It varies in severity. It is sometimes bad enough to make it difficult to converse, but the users find it generally unacceptable. They miss their old phones, which just worked. As you can

slowness of plot(x, type='l')
A couple of days ago a few messages indicated that something changed in the basic plot routine that made plot(*, type='l') slow for large data sets. Some people even reported crashes for very large data sets. As far as I remember, this was not reported as a formal bug. I am still not sure if this is a bug, so I report my findings here. First of all, I think I see a slowdown of the plot

Is kvm ready for prime time?
Hi all, I've started playing with kvm on CentOS 5.5, with not much success so far. In a nutshell, I have the same problem as http://lists.centos.org/pipermail/centos-virt/2010-April/001854.html I followed the RHEL5 virtualization guide to set up a bridge interface br0, and then used virt-install (rather than virt-manager - I like automation) to set up the vm. It hangs at some point.

open up firewall ports for Asterisk - safe?
Right now I've been working on setting up an Trixbox server on our internal network. Its behind the firewall, but I'd like to open up the firewall to it because we sometimes have developers working off site and I'd like them to be able to connect. Is this safe to do? I've got the "Allow Anonymous Inbound SIP Calls" box unchecked in freePBX. Is there anything else

uniform and clumped point plots
I am trying to generate two dimensional random coordinates. For randomly distributed data I have simply used >xy<-cbind(runif(100),runif(100)) However I also want to generate coordinates that are more uniformly distributed, and coordinates that are more contagiously distributed than the above. Can anyone make any suggestions Thanks. Dr Terry Beutel Rangeland Scientist Animal
