v1.1 QUOTA and inbox quota
My mail agent is postfix and by default it imposes the INBOX size of 50 meg. I would like my imap mail clients (I'm using Thunderbird) to "see" this and warn me when my inbox fills up. I tried doing it with the old quota system but wasn't successful. With the new quota rule system it looks like per-mailbox quotas are possible, however when I do this: quota = maildir

Directdraw and Wine Compilation
Hi, I am trying to compile wine in an AMD64 Ubuntu machine, taking the precautions needed shown in the winehq's wiki to do it. The compilation finishes fine, but for some reason there is no support for some things that used to have in the i386 pre-compiled package. One of them is ALSA sound. I use ALSA because for some reason OSS sometimes ruins the sound making it look like a loud scratch

Windows DirectDraw?
I just tried to install an ancient detective-type RPG ( I am not up with the classifications.) (a) It offered to install DirectX. Since Wine has its own DirectX, I ignored that. (b) The game failed to run because (according to the message box) it couldn't find DirectDraw. This showed as a Fixme in the terminal, while the error message was to do with the display settings - there was no mode

DirectDraw error and mouse stuck in the corner
Hello all, I was installing Thomas the Tank Engine (for my son, not me) and ran into 2 problems: - Unless I added "Desktop"="1024x768" to [Software\\Wine\\X11 Driver] in user.reg, the program would give a DirectDraw error. Is there a better way to fix this error? - The mouse works, but it keeps returning to the bottom right corner. I applied a patch (settings.c.diff), which

NeverHood won't run [Unable to initialize DirectDraw]
I just installed the old game The Neverhood into WINE, and it won't run. On start up it pops up the following dialogue boxes: DDERR_UNSUPPORTED and Unable to initialize DirectDraw. I have it set to run in Windows 98 (like the how-to from the AppDB), and I've tried it with both Vertex Shader and pixel shader on and off. I installed the DirectX that came with it. I keep getting the same

I think I messed up DirectDraw.
I tried to run a demo of Hype: The time quest (Windows 95/98, uses directX6 or some glide3 for 3D stuff) to see if it would work. It installed, but comes up with a weird "Cannot find a game using directdraw" error. I uninstalled it and went about my way. While it would be cool to have this run, that is not my main problem. Now, I cannot run Jazz Jackrabbit 2 (also windows 95/98--runs

DirectDraw problem
Hello all, I am trying to install an application done in Java, but in a kind of very Windows-Centric Java. The installer is InstallAnywhere. There's obviously a problem with calls to DirectDraw, both with the installer, and with the application itself if I try to run a version installed on Windows. When I try with the builtin ddraw.dll, the messages are :

The mouse-pointer turns invisible when I run C3 or Pharaoh in Wine. How do I solve this problem? Problems in games.
I have a RedHat 7.0 system. I compiled wine (form CVS, mondya afternoon) with the transgaming patches. For the most part it works pretty good, I can use napster, winamp, and many other programs that are installed on my win98 partition. The problem is when I play games. I donm't have that many games that I want to play (about 5), but I can;t get any of them to work properly. The first game

Samba access of FAT32 mounted file system on FreeBSD
Hi, Firstly background - FreeNAS 0.7.2 (FreeBSD 7.3-RELEASE-p1) Samba 3.5.3 1TB disk, 500GB FAT32 (/dev/da1s1) + 500GB NTFS (/dev/da1s4) Just to clear it up, I'm using FAT32 and NTFS because this is actually a media center box that functions as an external HDD when plugged into USB. sieve parse error
Hello everyone, I'm using Dovecot (v1.0.beta3-3ubuntu5.4 under Ubuntu) with postfix and LDA with virtual users. Everything is working fine. To filter mails I use the Dovecot Sieve feature. But I get some strange error for one simple Sieve script: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- require "fileinto"; if header

My games go black
When I try to play Pharaoh (and sometimes Caesar 3) my screen becomes black and the only thing to do is Ctrl+Alt+Backspace. I think Wine is still running but the game has just stopped. Does Wine have some way of stopping the program it's running? Even when I don't have access to the Eterm window that I opened it in? Mikkel Mastrup

Trying to get tropico 3 to run
Hey there, I've been trying to get tropico 3 to run on wine. My efforts so far have managed me to get to a point where I can get the main menu to work, but as soon as I load up a map, it dies: Code: john at panther:~/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/Kalypso/Tropico 3$ wine Tropico3.exe fixme:win:EnumDisplayDevicesW ((null),0,0x32f18c,0x00000000), stub! fixme:imagehlp:ImageLoad (C:\Program
