Stuck SIP channels? -> SIP show channels
Hello all I've discovered that SIP channels sometimes get stuck in *. I've read some posts from Fri 29 Aug 2003 which mentions this issue, but there doesn't seem to be any final answers I don't know if this is related to the 0001604 bug? Below is a list from one of the incidents: I know the (d) means that it is scheduled for destruction but the 10.1.1.45 channel hasn't

sip show channels - gives a growing list of dead channels
I am using Asterisk 1.4.18 with 70 various Polycoms, 12 analog, and 18 Spectralink wireless IP phones. Most of the Spectralink phones have entries in 'sip show channels' that do not go away. None of the other phones do this. Is there anyway to remove these entries without restarting Asterisk? Any ideas on what could be done to prevent this? Example output: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx 541

Setting CDR variables for all linked channels
Hi, when one does "Set(CDR(var)=value)" in dialplan, the value is only set for one record in the cdr table, but not the linked ones (the ones with the same linkedid). E.g. if you do something like same => n, Set(CDR(var)=value) same => n,Dial(Local/something&Local/something2) like only the original CDR record with have "var" set to "value", but the

RE: Delegation of authentication (S4U) and SAMBA
Hello, Does samba support the use of S4U? What do we need to configure in SAMBA or krb5 to support getting a ticket obtained by S4U. We are using 3.0.25 and krb5-1.4.1 We are getting the following error: decode_pac_data: Name in PAC [username@something1.something2.realmname] does not match principal name in ticket The ticket could be different than the PAC name because the

UID to file?
Hello, In the past I was in a situation that given an email UID I wanted to know which file in the Maildir directory this UID was saved. I did a small parser for $HOME/Maildir/dovecot-uidlist where, if the file had: 1000 W1838 S1796 :1557351041.10447_1.example I would ask for the UID 1000 and would return :1557351041.10447_1.example (and I knew that it was in $HOME/Maildir/new) Is there any

MeetMe CPU resources
Hello, We would like to have a conference with 15 users aprox. We think that Pentium 4 3GHz and 1GB of RAM should be enough. Only Asterisk running. We wonder if somebody has some other experience, good or bad. We will use Asterisk 1.2 (it is a small and short project for only this). SMS in Spain (it seems Protocol 2)
Hello, (I have asked it some time ago in Asterisk-es mailing list, so excuse me if anybody receive it twice.) I am trying to send SMS in Spain using landlines. It seems that app_sms.c only handles Protocol 1, but Spain and Italy are using Protocol 2. I have been searching in Internet without any results... anybody is sending SMS from Asterisk (or any method) using Protocol 2? (so, it seems,

Suddenly a problem with outgoing calls made from Cisco phones...
Hi all! Quite a mystery. The following happened when I was on holiday, and no one else has changed any configs of either Asterisk or the Cisco's in the building... The situation: Incoming works fine on all phones. Outgoing only works from non-Cisco phones. When calling from a Cisco phone to an external phone, all the Cisco-user hears is a ticking crackle and after about a minute the phone

download Dovecot emails over rsync (done!), possible alternatives
Hello, Apologies for the extra long email. It's a situation with a solved problem and I might need to solve it again, I'd like to have some feedback. Two years ago, in a trip around the Antarctic with a very limited communication I deployed a mail system based on Postfix+Dovecot. I need to do something similar again and I used a "hack" that I thought that I might avoid (that

whisper chanspy in asterisk 1.2
Hello, I would like to have "whisper" channel spy (not private whisper) in Asterisk 1.2. I see here: http://www.the-asterisk-book.com/unstable/applikationen-chanspy.html That is only available for Asterisk 1.4. I wonder if there is any way to emulate it in Asterisk 1.2. For example, to "join" two calls: one to use a private whisper and other one to use a normal chanspy.

SIP Reason
Hello, I'm sniffing traffic between Asterisk and a Softswitch. I see that, in "Decline" SIP packages, there is a header called "Reason" and I would like to access to the content of this header from Asterisk. How I can access to Reason header content? I would like to access here using ASterisk 1.4 and 1.2, but if it's only with Asterisk 1.4 will not be a big problem.

[Asterisk-Dev] SIP channels not cleared
Hello all, When I do 'sip show channels' I have seen a lot of entries where these calls has already been terminated. Some of these channels are bolong to calls being made 2 days ago but still showing from the CLI. They look like 10.223.51.173 0022676583 130b36625fc 00102/00103 unknow(d) Rx: BYE 10.223.51.173 0022676583 5533069e578 00102/00103 unknow(d) Rx: BYE 10.223.51.173
