Channel variables, any difference with SIP vs. IAX?
Hello, I have some extensions that are using variables loaded by an AGI program. Everything works fine and I am able to use NoOp to see the value of my variables when using IAX, but the same variables don't work when using SIP. I can provide further details, but right off of the bat does is there something I need to know about the use of user defined variables in with SIP channels vs. IAX

Asterisk and MiniITX setups
How well do you think asterisk could run on a miniITX board like the ones linked below with the call volume of say a small doctors office or something? http://www.mini-box.com/s.nl/sc.8/category.15/.f - Mark -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Asterisk on a MiniITX board+Atom1.6 2gb+Sangoma USB?
Hello, does this sound as a good combination, mini-itx board with Atom dual core 1.6ghz 2G ram and a sangoma USB? For a setup with PSTN for incoming and IAX2(alaw/gsm) for outgoing calls. - Would you say its a good choice from a hardware perspective? - Roughly how many concurrent calls would one of these be able to handle? Junghanns douBRI miniPCI (b559) DAHDI drivers
Hi I got a simple patch (merely extra PCI IDs for Junghanns douBRI miniPCI: https://issues.asterisk.org/view.php?id=18169 Sadly the reporter did not follow up on the report. I'd like to get at least one positive report before I commit this. Anybody has this device and wants it to work with DAHDI? Please update the bug report. -- Tzafrir Cohen icq#16849755

Centos 4 & Cisco 350 MiniPCI Wireless
I have an IBM Thinkpad with this beastie in it. The card was immediately recognized and uses the airo driver. No matter what I do, I can't get it to successfully connect to my WAP. Sometimes it sees the access point (as evidenced by an iwlist wifi0 scan seeing the network) and sometimes I can actually get it to connect ( as evidenced by the iwlist command showing the WAP ID).

Linux choices ?
First of all, My apologies for this maybe slight OT post, but I have so much confidence and read so much good replies on this list, that I am still asking my question. I''m looking for a linux distribution to use on our school''s homemade routers. The routers are small miniITX based systems with 2 network interfaces. I added a 4 port D-Link network card in some cases, when I

In the market for a new (old) laptop
Changes at my day job (we have a big merger being finalized), has me in the market for a new laptop. They may require me to only run the approved XP build on the system they provide. I do not know if they will fund another unit for me or not, so I am looking to go cheap. Here is what I am looking for: Runs Centos (duh!) Supports Suspend to memory as well as to disk. Bootable from

USB Audio sound card
All- Ah, the saga of the 1U workstation continues. So, in all my work configuring the thing, I completely forgot about AUDIO; I only realized my mistake when I went on a cable-measuring expedition this morning. Unfortunately, none of the 1U servers I've been looking at come with audio outputs (there aren't even audio headers on the motherboard), and I've used the only availabnle slot

Minimal installation How-to?
Hi all I would like to install the minimal level of Centos, with yum & selinux on my servers during the basic install from CD with Anaconda and then use yum to install whatever application is major on that server, so that yum installs its dependencies only, thus keeping to the target of installing only what is needed on a server. Please advise pros/cons of this approach and how to do it. I

Which external WiFi device for laptop running CentOS 5.3?
Have decided to give up on the embedded Broadcom 4312 wireless device in my son's Dell laptop. I get WEP open authentication to work, but nothing else. I was about to dump the bcm43xx kernel module and the bcm43xx-microcode5.fw firmware and work with the newer b43 module and associated firmware. However, he claims that at school, he has always had intermittent problems with wireless under

CentOS 4.2 Server CD - i386 Released
The single CD Server edition of CentOS 4.2/i386 has now been released. It lets you setup a basic CentOS 4 system along with the server components. Anything else that is needed can then be installed via yum or up2date once the system is running. The resulting installed system is identical to a normal CentOS 4 install ( with yum and up2date ). One important thing to keep in mind - this installer

Intel NUC? Any experience
Folks The price point of Intel's NUC unit makes it attractive to use as a server that doesn't have significant computational load. In my environment, a USB connected hard-drive could provide all the storage needed. I wonder if anyone has had experience with it, and can answer: 1) Does Centos6 and/or Centos7 install from a USB connected optical drive? or a USB flash drive? I'd

Atheros AR5141
Hi I got myself a nice little R52 802.11a/b/g MiniPCI Card for our router. This card is using the Atheros AR5141 chipset. I searched everywhere to find out more info on this and came across a few pages where it said that the AR5141 chipset is supported but when I stick the card in the router and boot FreeBSD 7-STABLE it hangs when loading the Atheros drivers It stops right after this ath0:

Digium transcoding card
Hi, Given that the Digium transcoding card has no external connections (AFAIK), it strikes me that it would suit a mini-PCI slot very well. Does such a beast exist, or is it likely to? Am I correct in assuming that this is a Digium-only product, and there is no OEM equivalent "generic" board out there that I could be investigating? It would be such a shame to waste a PCI slot that
