Meetme recording
Hello,
Is there a way to change the format from the default?
'r' - Record conference (records as ${MEETME_RECORDINGFILE} using format
${MEETME_RECORDINGFORMAT}). Default filename is
meetme-conf-rec-${CONFNO}-${UNIQUEID} and the default format is wav. -
requires chan_zap.so
Many thanks

G729 and Meetme
I have noticed that when I try to connect multiple G729 VoIP devices into a MeetMe conference that I can only add up to the number of G729 licenses I have. Now I would think that because all the devices are G729, this wouldn't be the case and the only license that would ever be used would be if a non G729 device or Zap channel was a part of the Meetme conference. This is apparently note the

meetme conference latency degrades...
We have recently started making more frequent use of the meetme
conference of our * system.
We are using v1.0.8 with a 2.6.11 kernel on our system.
We generally have 4 callers in it: two with the gsm codec and 2 with g729.
Initially, the conference works fine and there is little latency. After
about 15min., though, the latency is very noticable and by 25min it's
unbearable.

Core show translation > 4000ms
Hi list,
we have 2 asterisk boxes in VM (kvm) on 2 different Dell servers, one is
Lenny kernel 2.6.26 asterisk 1.6.2.20, the second CentOS 2.6.18 asterisk
1.4.36 (Elastix). Both 64bits, no hardware involved, dahdi on both
machines for meetme timing.

Meetme codec translation and callerID library.
Can Meetme be made to work with G.729? (I gather not)
If a call comes in (internally or externally), the call comes in as a
G.729 call, which then re-negotiates to a G.711u call when if gets
transferred to a MeetMe room.
Is there a way to set up asterisk that will allow me to have internal
phones renegotiate to G.711, with the external lines instead transcoding
within asterisk.

Can't get G729 working after buying a license.
List,
I purchased 2 g729 licenses but I can't get it to answer a g729 call
from a cisco router with a vwic card. In the debug output below you
will see that asterisk thinks it only supports: (gsm|ulaw|alaw|h263)
when it should support g729 according to the config also listed below.
The real odd thing is I can place g729 calls to the router, just not
from the router to *. Anyone have any

Meetme versus app_conference
As stated here:
http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/index.php?page=Asterisk+cmd+MeetMe
A Meetme room uses Ulaw as the audio codec, so if the other channels
use different codecs, then * will transcode.
Does the app_conference application works the same way?
Or if i have SIP/g729 users and i create a conference with other users
also at g729 asterisk will not transcode (when using app_conference)?

g729
I installed a hardware g729 codec card in my asterisk, and I'm getting the following error when calling from a g729 sip extension to a SIP trunk also set to g729. The call goes through just fine, but these error messages keep flying by until I disconnect the call.
Any ideas?

MeetMe errorhandling
Hi Group,
i have a MeetMe Question.
I use "MeetMe(,Ms)" in the Dialplan and if a Conference Room does't exist Asterisk play (conf-invalid.slin)
If i use "MeetMe(${room},Ms)" (value from DTMF Read) and the Conference Room doesn't exist Asterisk don't play (conf-invalid.slin) and Asterisk Hangup the Call.
there is a solution for the kind my problem?
Thanx and

My G729 problem re-visited
Ok, I built a test system to duplicate my problem and provide myself
a platform that I can mess around with to try and break any features.
My problem is G729 pass-through from a gateway to a phone. I think
I even have transcoding working, which makes me more confused on
what's wrong with my pass-through. It must be a configuration issue.

G729, voicemail, no codec_g729
I am trying to create a %100 g729 (with no transcoding) system (using a
Soekris, of course). I am running AstLinux with the native sounds, g729
is the only codec allowed, %100 SIP (g729 only allow=) - I think I am
covering all of my bases.
I have only "format=g729" in voicemail.conf. On an incoming call to a
mailbox, everything goes well until recording the message. When the

G729 - what happens if licences used up?
I haven't been able to find the answer online, and am not currently
able to conduct an experiment to find the answer...
I understand that in a SIP call where G729 has been negotiated as the
preferred codec, a G.729 licence is not consumed until there is a need
to perform transcoding, e.g. play a non-g729 sound, or do voicemail,
or enter a Meetme, etc.

Codec G729 no longer works.
I upgraded my server from Fedora Core 4 to Fedora Core 5.
I was wondering if anybody else has run into the problem and know's the
fix?
I recompiled asterisk and if I don't have
the /usr/lib/asterisk/modules/codec_g729a.so
file in place it works.
I use or used to use the licensed G729 Codec from Digium.

g729 passthrough?
I'm sitting here with my dunce cap on. My weak excuse is that I haven't
ever played with g729 before.
I have a Sipura 841. I have the phone config set to use g729. Its
appropriate sip.conf entry, and the IAX stanza for my ITSP all set to
disallow=all, allow=g729.
But as soon as I dial, I get a complaint from the server:

Zap channel(s), meetme and codecs/licences
Hi all,
Some simple questions about codecs:
What codec does the Zap channel use by default?
Can this default be changed, and to what? (g729 too?)
What codec does meetme use? (I think this is ulaw, but asking to be sure)
Can you use another codec, or does everything have to be transcoded to ulaw?
Finally ... if I have a 3way call going, between 1 g729 caller and two
other callers, do I need one
